Beautiful property with calm waters
We rented a 1 bedroom ocean front condo for 9 days. Less than a minute from beach. We love it here, our 4th visit. Little to no waves in this bay location, which is great for kids non swimmers, snorkelers. We did not bring our snorkeling equipment this trip, wish we had. Zero issues getting chairs, umbrella at the beach. This beach is not crowded which is great.
Our condo, 311 was nicely done, would be happy to get this condo again. Food is very good at the patio, we are there 4 times for lunch/dinner, once more for breakfast. If menu was a bit more varied.would have went even more often. Ate at sunset grille once, no complaints by me, my wife underwhelmed with lobster Mac in cheese. $17 one way for two to red hook. Order taxi at front desk, easy peasy. The taxi ride from airport to resort reconfirms the wisdom of not renting a vehicle for me. Hilly, hair pins turns, driving on left side, lots of traffic. Only time we leave resort is for dinner in red hook. Lack of car not an issue for us. We use VIP provisioning, link on SHarbor website. They have always worked out well for us.
Pros: The cove is great with lots of snorkeling. All of the rooms have a view -we were on the 4th floor with a really nice big balcony and a view. The restaurant is good with great service. The hotel is in a convenient location near Red Hook. $8 per person by taxi. Bed is really comfortable.
Cons: Biggest downside is the beach gets swarmed by cruise boat folks who get dropped off and and try to use the hotel’s chairs or bring their own. The beach really isn’t that big so it gets crowded pretty quickly.
Our TVs would not work. We told the front desk the first day and they said they would send someone but they never did. That’s kind of a basic amenity for a 4 star hotel I would think.
The condo was roomy and spotless. The Sunset Grille and The Patio were great. All the servers and bartenders were top notch. Great place!
Beautiful resort!! We had an excellent stay in a one bedroom oceanfront condo. Staff is great. The beach is beautiful and the staff were wonderful in keeping the chairs available for hotel guests. The restaurant is very good and the food is excellent. We only ate at the Patio restaurant. Highly recommend this resort.
Location, right on a beautiful beach with soft sand and clear turquoise sea. Kind friendly helpful staff, large clean modern condo. Great food in the restaurant and such charming, friendly waiting staff.
Nothing. Can’t comment on local restaurants, shops etc as didn’t leave the hotel. I understand there isn’t a supermarket within walking distance but only a few mins in a taxi (we drove past it on way to the marina) and shop on site has a good selection of toiletries .
My husband and I chose a one bedroom beachfront condo at Secret Harbour Beach Resort, based on several friends recommendations. We were given a third floor condo with a spectacular view that was even better than the pictures online—absolutely stunning sunset and sunrise views.
The accommodations were spacious and comfortable, with a one-bedroom layout, a full kitchen, and a great balcony that was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view.
One of the highlights was the great snorkeling right off the beach, which was easy to access and beautiful. We saw lots of fish, a turtle and a ray.
The resort also has a nice on-site restaurant, the Sunset Grille, which was very convenient and enjoyable.
We never had an issue securing beach chairs or umbrellas, they were always available. This location is also very close to Redhook, so catching the ferry to St John was convenient.
The staff was wonderful throughout our stay—friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. We were very happy with our decision to stay here. We will absolutely stay here again!
Gorgeous. Quiet. Clean!
Stairs!
We stayed at Secret Harbour to celebrate our Anniversary. The resort is very clean, friendly and accommodating. Our one bedroom condo was 10 yards from the beach and very quiet. The best part of our stay was the excellent snorkeling at the resort. We saw not only a variety of colorful fish, but also sea turtles, stingrays, barracudas, puffer fish and flounder all in very clear water. We recommend using the VIP Provisioning service to order food and beverage items which will be delivered to your condo prior to your arrival.
Food and beach
Hill walk and room distance, roaches and ants in room
Location, comfortable room.
The room was fantastic. It was very spacious and the kitchen came in handy for breakfast. The balcony was amazing with amazing views. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was pretty good.
The beach with the resort was the best part of the experience. It was shallow and the kids had a amazing time.
The pool was rather small and was not very attractive for young kids. The distance of the resort is a bit far from airport. The last 1-2 miles requires very careful driving.
Beautiful views but poor hospitality and sub-par accommodations.
At the Patio bar & grill there were a couple good waiters and bartenders but most of them had horrible hospitality skills, they just didn’t care and often got orders wrong. In the sunset grill, we had the most amazing waitress- Stephanie.
The beach front rooms are nice and convenient. Seem to be privately owned but quite outdated and in need of renovations. There was a ceiling water leak in one of our group’s rooms.
The beach is lovely to look at but the sand is very rocky and once you enter the water it is a minefield of sharp larger rocks.
Top notch resort with amazing staff. Beautiful views to go along with incredible food at both restaurants. Bartenders all friendly with great advice on sites to see
Spent the day at secret harbor and had a great time. The bartender Joe was absolutely incredible! He was so friendly and the service was on point. Highly recommend you come visit Joe and hang out at the beach. Thanks Joe!
Beautiful property, nice snorkeling off the beach. Good restaurant & bar onsite with daily happy hour & friendly bartenders. There are other good restaurants nearby, but you will need to taxi to travel offsite. It was about $7-$10 per person for a local taxi ride. Bring cash for cabs!
