Large home style rooms
Pros:

Rooms are large and comfortable. Mattress was a little lumpy, but ok. Room was near road and was very noisy when people pulled up with loud music etc. The front desk agent was helpful and friendly. Large LCD TV with Dish Network. Would be ideal for a long term stay. After a light remodel & maintenance the place would be awesome.

Owner is kind and caring make us feel like family
Pros:

This place has been great for our needs. First they accomodate for our allergies making sure not to use any chemicals or potpourri. They loved our dog too who is clean and quiet. The room did not have smoke or moldy smell either, was clean and spacious. Having a kitchen with full sized fridge, toaster, stove top and so on made it possible to fix our meals. The wifi worked fine most of the time. When every we needed something they went out of their way to get it. For instance last time their was a toaster in our room, we asked for one and they supplied it! Also love the park like atmosphere right across the road at part of the Valdosta University. The hospital is a block away and their chapel was the perfect spot for my worship early in the morning. Only draw back their are some bars near by so best to stay in at night, was quiet for nearly the whole four weeks we were there except for three nights, and all three was not too long. There is traffic noise, anyway the price is great for a big roomy room. The owner loves flowers so their are pretty flowers here and there to brighten your day. Kind, friendly caring owner and staff. Second time we have stayed here. Beets the other places we have tried hands down for long stay.

Our favorite place to stay in Valdosta
Pros:

My husband and I were looking for an affordable hotel that was pet friendly, quiet, clean, had a kitchen, and was in a convenient location. On top of that we needed a room that was not moldy or smelled musty, was overly scented or smelled of cigarette smoke and we found it in the Garden Villas! At first, I was concerned because of the conflicting reviews so I called, really to cancel, but their kind demeanor and desire to get us a room that would work for us won us both over, and my husband and I are both very glad we tried it out. It is a very old, yet stately Hotel, which they are slowly remodeling. If your looking for something that is perfect than keep looking, but if you want a nice clean, spacious room with a Kitchen etc, I would pick this place. There is a Chinese restaurant next to the hotel, as well as Fire House Subs and a Mexican Restaurant, all within walking distance. Walmart, Win Dixie and Publix are only a few blocks away as well. This is an extended stay Hotel so there is no lobby you can hang out in or pool, but it has worked great for us! We are very glad we stayed in Garden Villas and if we need to come to Valdosta again, I'm sure we will be staying at Garden Villas if they have an opening.

My 2 week stay.
Pros:

Just a short note about my stay at Garden Vilas. I'm retired and when I travel, which is quite often, I look for a cheap place to lay my head. But the jest of it is, is that most of the time if the hotel is to cheap, you don't know what youre laying your head on. This hotel brought me to a time when hotel rooms were built big and comfortable. A few belimishes and bruises on this old girl, nevertheless comfortable. My son goes to VSU here so it was great to spend some quality time with him. My 2 week stay was nice and very afordable. Will stay here on my next trip through.

Nasty is an understatement.
Pros:

The hotel rooms can be smelled from the parking lot. It truly is the nastiest place I've ever had to stay. Do yourself a favor and sleep in your car, drive to another town, whatever you have to do, but Don't book a room at this place.

Excellent on every expect of a hotel
Pros:

Friendly staffs, at a low low price, makes you want to give the staff a big tips & a big hug! I once loss a packages, the staff tryed his best to locate them by calling around the places I 've been, not only that they even offer me a coffe while I was waiting! All the staff always check with me if I need any assistant, I believe that is the best place I ever stay, and I am still stay there.

It was awful, I won't be back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone
Pros:

I stayed there for 1 month, the room smelled of smoke, within minutes the smell was in my clothes and the taste was in my mouth. I had to invest in deoderizers and cented candles. There was a roach infestation, For 2 weeks I killed dozens of roaches daily. Although they sent the exterminator out 3 different times, I had to buy my own can of raid. 27 days out of 30, I saw roaches. The room was straightend up, but wasn't clean, I had to wipe up a spill & the floor was filthy. I had to get houskeeping to clean the Bathroom before I would use the shower. Housekeeping was awful, they only cleaned what you asked them to, nothing more and that's if they came. One review that I read before I visited the hotel, was don't let the pictures fool you, and they were right. These rooms are really over priced for the service that is offered. One good thing though is that they are in close proximity to everything. Anyone else who stays here, I really hope that there stay is better then mine was.

Don't go off of pictures!!
Pros:

It's a perfect location near base and allows pets! But I also booked it by how it looked like in pictures (cozy and just what we needed for 5 days so we didn't have to eat out all the time) boy was I shocked once I opened the door to my suite! Beds are hard, we wake up feeling so groggy from having such a poor night sleep. The bathroom was gross (you can tell it hasn't been cleaned in awhile with dead bugs stuck where the shower door closes) BRING SHOWER SHOES!!! Internet didn't work the whole time we were hear and the tv picture was fuzzy. As for being able to save money with being able to cook at home, hardly happened. Might sound kiddish but we were a little "scared" to use the supplies they gave us to use and we have to pay for dish soap!

Not the best place
Pros:

The front office is very nice and very helpful. We were in town due to my mother serious illness and death. The place was the most convenient to the hospital and my mother was in ICU so we wanted to be as close as possible.

If my circumstances had been any different, I would have moved. The place was not clean and we had no service the entire time we were there..but we did see maids go by. We only got fresh towels IF we stopped them as they zoomed by.

I had not bothered to place a review but after seeing the pictures this place is showing on the sister booking site to tripadvisor, I just had to set the record straight. There is no way the floors ever shined like the pictures show. The bathroom was VERY dated (the 1060's at best). If there is A room with a jet tub like in the picture, there is NO way that any of the props in the picture are provided.

For those traveling on a very low budget or having to be very close to the hospital, is the only reason to choose this place.

Not in my list of places to return to.
Pros:

The room was a non-smoking suite upstairs and the receptionist was nice but he (andrew) never offered to have anyone help us with our bags. The room was a nice size with a King size bed, full size refrigerator, stovetop, coffee pot, sink and some dishes, however we had to ask for fresh towels each day, along with replacement coffee packets, and we never once after a week long stay had anyone come to clean the room, take out the trash, make the bed. We actually went down at the end of the second day to request it be cleaned and were told they would get it the next day...needless to say by the end of the next day it hadn't happened.
At this point we didn't want to pack it in and leave, we had already bought a few groceries, and just decided to get fresh towels each day ourselves. It was also difficult parking, and a lot of people hanging around in the parking lot late at night. Overall, I would probably not stay here again.

The Nicest Rooms and Staff Around
Pros:

I stayed at The Garden Villas for approximately two months in 2006 while in Valdosta for business. The rooms were excellent with a nice kitchenette and lovely hardwood floors. The rates were also quite low for an establishment of this caliber. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful so whenever a problem did arise it was rectified immediately. My experience with The Garden Villas and her staff made me wish that my work had kept in Valdosta longer.

Pleasant Stay! Would stay again
Pros:

I stayed in the Premium Suite and was pleasantly surprised with the accomodations. The bed and room was very clean and comfortable. It's an extended stay hotel so there is a kitchen that supplies everything you'd need to cook. The room was immaculate, and much larger than your regular hotel room. Service was good, atmosphere was good, and I would definitely stay there again.

Are you serious???
Pros:

Wow... I'm finding it hard to believe we stayed in the same hotel. The Garden Villas was a surprise alright, but not a pleasant one. I was there for 1 night in late April 2006. This is a very old roadside motel that has had a facelift. They took old kitchenette rooms and put down pergo and tile and added granite countertops, but kept the old beds and pink ceramic tile that belies the true age of the hotel. The kitchenette would be nice if you were staying for a while, but I wasn't. My room (118) was not very clean. The bed was old and uncomfortable. The musty smell was overwhelming and sent me running for my allergy meds. I never saw bedbugs, but I never felt alone in my bed, if you know what I mean. I paid nearly $100 for this really bad 3 hours of sleep, and I couldn't report it to the night manager when I left at 6:00AM, because there was no one in the office. I don't recommend this place, unless every other place is full for miles around and you bring your own sheets and pillow.

The most unique and well kept rooms ever!
Pros:

I booked the hotel room through hotels.com and viewed the amenities and the pictures, but I never thought the rooms would be SO NICE! Really, the rooms are extremely big, not like your sardined hotel rooms, and each have granite countertop kitchens with a full refridgerator. What blew me away was the price. With high speed internet connection, cable and hbo television and even more, one could stay there for like $840 or $850 per month. I can't remember. But it was definitely a great bargain and it's quiet, tiny, unique, gorgeous architecture, and well furnished. I've even booked my family's stay in Valdosta for next year's winter vacation. The staff is wonderful and so polite as well. I highly recommend the Garden Villas whether you're staying for one night or even up to a month. It's the most unique and great bargained place I've been to and I travel a lot. I'm so glad I stayed.

Excellent rooms, service and amentities - Really a great bargain
Pros:

I recently relocated from Burbank, California to Valdosta, GA and needed an immediate place to stay. I didn't want to stay at a hotel for around a month while I shopped around for Apartments, so I decided to opt with the Garden Villas Extended Stay Suites and Hotel. I was extremely surprised to find the rooms to have such a large floor plan, full kitchen and full refridgerator, and just the entire room to be so spacious. I usually stay at the Suburban when I'm on the road, but the Suburban looks like nothing compared to this. Suburban's rooms are so tiny!! Seriously, if I could find an apartment like this in Valdosta, I'd definitely lease from them. Amentities were great (had all the necessary furnitures) and the service was incredibly great as well. I found myself around Valdosta quickly by talking to their friendly staff. They gave me maps and recommended great places for my co-workers and me to dine, visit, and shop. On top of that, their staff keeps the hotel extremely clean and tidy with everything in its right place. I highly recommend this place, and on top of it all the price of the room is such a great bargain. I could stay at a hotel for $99 a night and not have this kind of friendly service, a full kitchen and amount of room space as I would here. Moreover, I only paid $275 a week and it included electrity, water, a kitchen, DSL, and the largest suite I've been in. I highly recommend this place to anyone new to Valdosta and need an immediate place to stay.
