We stayed in Peoria, IL at the Windgate by Wyndham, very nice hotel, great swimming pool indoors for the grandkids. The breakfast was exceptional only problem we encountered was our room door wouldn't read our cards. I even got the night manager to come down and his card wouldn't work. Luckily it was the end of the night and we were just going to bed.
Otherwise we might of had to move rooms, 3 grandkids and 2 adults.
We would stay here again, it was close to the mall, restaurants and things to do.
Very nice! The breakfast to the rooms was amazing and just a very nice hotel in all! I really thing that it's worth the money to stay and amazing things around to do.
Everything was excellent! We have stayed here several times and always had great service. We plan to stay here everytime we come to town for hockey games
Had some friends come to swim in the hot tub and one of them hit a vape pen while I was changing in the bathroom was told we could stay 20 min later they kicked us out and I was charged 400 dollars for a simple mistake
Rooms for large and clean. Bathtub had handrails which was handy the shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion smelled amazing. Pet friendly. Breakfast was great. Staff was very kind and accommodating.
Every time we come back to Illinois to visit family we always stay at the Wingate it's a very well kept hotel the staff is always very courteous. The front desk personnel when we checked in on Saturday afternoon was very nice and when the heat in our room would not come on, he personally came down and tried to assist in getting it working. When they couldn't get it working they made another room available immediately to us. Heather the front office manager has always been very professional always has a smile on her face and is an asset to Wingate by placing the customer first. If you have never stayed at the Wingate I would strongly recommend making your next reservation there. I've stayed in a lot of different hotels but the Wingate complimentary breakfast is better than any other hotel I've ever stayed in including other Wyndham hotels.
Front desk staff were welcoming, very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable. Room was large for a standard room. Lots of items offered for breakfast - hot and cold.
I had an excellent experience with the hotel shuttle driver, Cedric. When I needed a ride to pick up food, he kindly drove me to a nearby shopping center. The short trip ended up being the highlight of my evening. Cedric is incredibly personable, genuinely funny, and easy to talk to. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that much in such a short drive, and his positive energy really made my day.
He’s knowledgeable, friendly, and goes above and beyond for guests. I’m truly grateful I had the chance to meet him. Cedric is a fantastic representative of the hotel, and I hope other guests get to experience his outstanding service as well.
The staff was very welcoming and accommodating to whatever we needed. Although we weren’t able to take part in the evening appetizers and gathering, I love the idea. We also enjoyed the little welcome cookies in the foyer. Our room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.
Amazing staff! Friendly, accommodating. Brian in particular is the best concierge I’ve ever had (and I travel a lot!). Above and beyond helpful, quick, and considerate. This is our second time at this hotel. It is now our go-to Peoria hotel forever. Rooms are clean and comfy. First time was great, we stayed 5 days. We’re staying the same length this time. This time it has already been superlative. And it is only day 2. Thank you Brian for making our day and stay even better!
Room ready and convenient! Brian at desk friendly and accomodating!
Great
Excellent, friendly staff. Very accommodating and helpful. Clean and well appointed. Airport shuttle makes it convenient stop over for business or layover. Cedric, shuttle driver, was especially helpful.
Had an excellent stay at Wingate hotel by Wyndham. And I would like to thank some very special people that made my stay very excellent, Anthony - shuttle(pepsi), Savannah & Josh- front desk, Heather and Katia- Night Audit. Keep up the good work guys, appreciate it! Sincerely, Bus driver from bolingbrook,IL
Family friendly, clean and comfortable.
The staff was friendly when we arrived. The hotel was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The entire place needs a remodel, as furniture is scuffed and a bit worn out. The carpet was pulling away from the floor in our room and had white stains on the edges. The negatives from our stay were twofold: we got a knock at the door a couple hours after we checked in asking if we were running water. “Well, yes…we have washed our hands and flushed the toilet.” But apparently there was water coming through the ceiling downstairs. I guess they had to investigate, but it was an odd exchange and felt like they were blaming us. Then, came the ants. We were traveling with two little ones, so it was easier to eat our pizza in the room. We wiped up one little with a washcloth and placed it in the bathroom. The next morning, there were hundreds of ants swarming under it! Granted, we put a towel with food stains in the floor, but they clearly have an ant infestation. When I told the front desk at checkout, he just stared at me and said, “I’ll let housekeeping know.” No apology, nothing. Again, it felt like he was saying this was our fault, rather than the hotel’s structural issues.
I come to Peoria alot and have stayed in several local hotels. Honestly, this is my first pick from here on out.
I've stayed in a much more expensive place around the corner, and this one is much better. Stay in this hotel above the other ones. The difference is there.
It's the little touches! My room was clean, the bathroom was sparkling. The toilet paper even had special folds to make it pretty, ha! The little hand towel was folded beautifully. Who does that anymore?
They left me two bottles of water too!
The bed is very comfortable, there are various types of pillows, some soft, some firmer. The AC is cold and not loud at all. I didn't move for seven hours straight in the bed last night and that never happens.
The hotel is quiet.
But the food! They put out so many different things to eat! Fruit and granola bars to take with me today. So many types of drinks and creamers. Hot coffee, hot tea, waters. Pancakes, boiled eggs, potatoes, ham, eggs and every single type of cereal, breads muffins, bagels, nutella and everything in between.
The front desk employee, Grace was SO FRIENDLY.
Honestly, this hotel is the ONLY one you want to choose in this area.
Our room was very clean, and staff responded quickly to requests. Some of the furnishings were worn.
We booked/stayed for the pool. However the pool is in need of some repair. The steps and the bottom of the pool are chipped and rough. No one cleaned it and there were all kinds of bugs in the pool in the morning. There were towels but the catch basket was removed. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast choices were good except for the orange juice, which was watery in the machine and nothing done about it. The knives needed to be replenished but were not until we were done eating. Strange meat choices to go with eggs...Canadian bacon, and when that ran out, summer sausage.
Always a nice spacious room, comfy bed (albeit a little soft for my taste, but just my personal opinion). Used the pool and hot tub, both are very worn and in need of refinishing. There was visible mold on the walls and one ceiling tile was black from it by the hot tub and right where the towels are. The place is great as long as you don’t go swimming.
