Closeness to Gateway. Cleanliness and staff were great.

Cons:

Place needs some TLC and maintenance. Lifts need to work better. It just has a very old aesthetic. Very noisy and you hear every noise.

Cons:

The carpet is old and dark. The couch is also dark so it has overall a dark space. The space could do with with an upgrade especially the lounge area.

Pros:

We absolutely love staying at Royal Palm Hotel — it truly feels like a home away from home for my family. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and perfect for a family stay. We especially love the convenient location opposite Gateway Mall and close to the beach. The atmosphere is peaceful, the staff are always welcoming, and the overall experience keeps us coming back every time we visit Umhlanga.

We were also pleasantly surprised when our rooms were upgraded to a stunning 3-bedroom penthouse, which was absolutely awesome and made our stay even more special. Highly recommended for both family vacations.

Cons:

What we didn’t like was the room service experience. Our order was incorrect, and we had to wait an hour just for a plate of chips. Unfortunately, it felt like the matter was not treated as a priority, which was disappointing.
