Perfect location but rooms & facilities are outdated.
Pros:

Well located and friendly staff.

Cons:

The room card must be reprogrammed EVERY day !It is very annoying when you get to your room door and have to go back to reception. Room phone has no indication what number to dial for emergency or reception or housekeeping.

Best hotel in Umhlanga
Pros:

I stay at a lot of hotels in Umhlanga when im there for the weekends
I came across Royal palm hotel as it was right next door to my meeting. Price was good and the stay was beyond enjoyable. Beds were comfortable and room was clean

The towels were very basic for a premium hotel.
The sinks were cracked
No shower cap provided
The bed was very hard, I stayed in this hotel in 2020 and I don't remember the bed being that hard.
While we had checked in the room about 20mins in and someone knocked on the door twice and just opened with their key card. He said he was checking if the rooms were in order while we already checked in. The person didn't wait for us to answer or come to the door.

There’s no professionalism it’s like a 3 star

Cons:

The staff is not professional from the Receptionist to the Bar Staff. Including the shift manager at the bar because before those people turn that place into a Tavern. Your recruitment must be a formal process. Those people know each other and you can tell they are brought by friends. If there’s no theft as yet monitor sales they might be bringing and selling their own alcohol
