Red Carpet Inn Newark - Irvington NJ

I thought the staff was not very friendly. TV not working. Towels were very thin.

Looks like there people living in the building, it is not a real hotel.
Plus in the last day, no water for more than 16hs. Was a nightmare.
The reception never answer the phone I tried at least 40 times.
All the installation is very poor. If u are looking for some confort is not the place to go.

Room front door lock was broken, Hotel manager was rude, charged my credit card for room again, told them I had booked room and paid with Booking.com would not help to correct there mistake. Manager said to call Booking.com to correct there mistake and walked away not happy

I pre-paid for a room and the room was unsatisfactory because there was no Wi-fi no reception within the room I reported this and in order for me to get another room I had to pay an additional fee which I found unsatisfactory and unfair

The smell in the room smelled like mildew.. the jacuzzi did not work just made a load growling rumbling noise.. and the key card kept dying had to keep going to desk to get new card

Crowds of people on the outside begging for money and drugs .
Also the towels was not clean idk how the laundry attendant or housekeeper put them towels in a room .

No soap or shampoo in the bathrooms
Toilet leaked
Cleaning staff would turn the ac off and not back on. We would come back to a HOT room

Location was in a BAD area. We were worried about our (paid)parked car that it might be vandalized. It wasn’t, but we didn’t like having that feeling. We ended up ubering to airport and driver said we might not have our car when we returned!

No se siente seguro en absoluto, había gente no muy amigable en la puerta, algunos iban drogados y vi que intentaban abrir los coches en el parking. De hecho en el parking hay un cartel que pone que el hotel no se hace responsable de los robos. La recepción tenía una pantalla de cristal hasta el techo tú hablabas con la mujer a través del cristal pienso que lo tenían así por seguridad, para evitar los robos de la gente del barrio. Los turistas son un tesoro para ellos. En la recepción por fuera había una mujer que iba y venía del barrio para la recepción para captar el wifi del hotel y en una llamada decía que habían llegado turistas y lo escuché. Iba con mi familia y nos dio miedo.
