Pros:

Couldn't big this hotel up enough
Back in November myself and wife stayed for our 30th anniversary ❤️
Loved the service back then decided to book for my wife's 48th birthday on 12th February
Well they done it again couldn't of Asked for a better experience. Even got a room upgrade which made this stay exceptional
From start to finish of our stay we were treated so well as guests in the family
And the food both breakfast and dinner would have beaten any 5 star hotel with the service and quality 👌

Cons:

Nothing negative to put

A Wonderful Last Minute Family Escape with Outstanding Service!
Pros:

We made a same day booking at Burnham Beeches Hotel & Spa after our flight was cancelled due to bad weather. Travelling with children, we still wanted to treat them to a night away from home, ideally somewhere with a pool and what an absolute gem we found. From the moment we booked, the staff were fantastic: warm, friendly and incredibly accommodating. Despite arriving within an hour of booking, they had already called to confirm our preferred room layout and whether we needed extra cots. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, with spacious rooms and every amenity you could want, including lovely touches like a Nespresso machine and White Company toiletries.

I especially loved the many cosy nooks and spaces to relax with a drink or a bite to eat. We had lunch in the bar on arrival before heading straight to the pool. The facilities were excellent, the pool was large enough for both us and the kids to enjoy comfortably, even with other guests there. The grounds are also beautiful, great for a walk and there are bikes you can rent.

We dined in the restaurant that evening, and everything was delicious. At one point, I mentioned to my family that I fancied a particular dish and drink that weren’t on the menu. A few minutes later, the waitress came over to say she had overheard and had asked the kitchen to prepare them for me. Truly outstanding service!

This wasn’t the weekend away we had planned, but our stay here more than made up for it. I would highly recommend Burnham Beeches Hotel & Spa, a perfect family friendly escape with exceptional staff and facilities.

Cons:

We loved everything!

Birthday weekend
Pros:

Very happy with the hotel, the service quality, very nice food and friendly staff made for a memorable weekend. We booked very late so had a small room with standard double bed which we found a little small for us (not the hotels fault as all other rooms were booked)

Would recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay in luxury surroundings
Pros:

The service was outstanding. It really set the hotel apart from others. Staff were amazing. Great location for visiting Windsor and Marlow. Hotel is set in lovely grounds, very quiet and great for a relaxing stay. Decor was beautiful, and really well maintained. Cannot fault the food, even had an afternoon tea and the scones and pastries were fantastic.

Just not for us…
Pros:

Upon arrival reception area is lovely, looks pretty new.

We were apparently given an upgraded room - bed bigger; although the look and feel of the room was completely different to the Oakroom we had booked.

ROOM:
Stayed in the Beech Double room 153
As we were upgraded, I would have expected a little more…
- Bathroom has a damp smell
- Bed - is a twin that’s been put together [no problem] : a topper should be standard - I had to ask the next morning if these bed should have one - the man at reception didn’t know. We were out of the room for over 2 hours - no one attended to add the topper until we were back in the room and at that point having a nap! So no topper added!
- Duvet cover was torn [also told reception], the fitted sheet did not fit the bed - we could see the mattress protector on the sides of the mattress and as expected while sleeping the sheet and protector kept coming off!
- You’re given 2 pods for the coffee [for a 2 night stay, I’d expected more in the room]!
- AC unit was leaking water
- Shower kept dripping [even while asleep]

BREAKFAST
Buffet breakfast which was ok…sausages were nice. At our last breakfast I asked for poached eggs which the lovely host Ian arranged.

Coffee is from a machine, there isn’t the option to have alternative milk if you would like a latte / Cappuccino. Only if you have an Americano there are milk alternatives.

SPA
Not quite what I was expecting, it’s run down and small. The hot tub fits 2 people - you literally have to make a dash for it when it becomes vacant!
There was also quite a bad damp smell this morning around the steam room.

HOTEL
Generally all of the open spaces are really lovely, I sat and did a bit of work in one of the space.

STAFF:
Ian is lovely, very welcoming.
The person at check-in was also really helpful [can’t remember his name]
There is a fairly young guy [tall with dark hair] who was working the 7th /8th Feb who looked miserable! I walked passed twice where he just ignored the phone ringing at reception - We booked our stay on Friday [few hours before arriving] and I had called reception about 5/6 times pre booking and no one picked up the call - I can see now why!

There are a number of great reviews… just didn’t meet my standards I guess!

Sadly not a happy experience
Pros:

Room was clean spacious bed comfortable.
Facial was excellent.

Cons:

Generally poor experience. Service in bar was grumpy, food in restaurant was terrible and service chaotic. Although additional food and a free bottle of wine was offered it really didn't change our view of what was a very poor meal. I hope that our constructive criticism is taken on-board for future guests.
Automated check in was impersonal and reception staff below average in terms of appropriate service.
Spa and pool area are tired and scruffy with damaged areas. Jacuzzi was out of service.
I do not enjoy leaving a poor review and in general try to be positive but felt I had to address the problems. This hotel feels like its trying to be upmarket but being run in a shoestring.

Don’t bother - the owner and staff haven’t!
Pros:

Bed was comfortable??

Cons:

Where to start…there for New Year’s Eve and day. Food options were poor and expensive so we out instead.
The whole of the second floor stunk of cannabis for our entire stay and despite of numerous pleas to staff to deal with occupants of the rooms they were clearly not bothered or interested enough. The smell was SO bad that friends on another floor could smell it. Hotel seemed more interested that the room was being occupied, than deal with the issues. We ended up sleeping with towels wedged around our room door frame!!!
Breakfast was lazy with zero attention from any staff past the point of being allocated a table….and don’t dare ask a question for fear of irritating the staff further. Wrap up warm too - gaps in the window frames keep the breakfast area well ventilated
Swimming pool is dirty and dangerous with loose flooring, cloudy pool water, broken chairs and damaged seating planks in the sauna. The jacuzzi had been broken for weeks before our attendance according to receptionist. Before you go there, don’t forget to collect your damp pool towel from reception desk! The gym is a tired waste of time and if you do use the running machine, running on the right side of the belt causes the machine to become unstable and rock. Staff aren’t interested in that either.
This was once a hotel that the England football team stayed at during Euro 96……how the mighty has fallen!

Wonderful start to our week away
Pros:

Just had a 2 night stay with breakfast and 3 course dinner as part of our package. From the moment we arrived until the time we left our experience was superb. Staff super helpful, couldn’t do enough for us without being overwhelming. Good choice buffet breakfast and dinner was from the standard menu with supplements where appropriate; thechoice was very good, I particularly liked the lamb and my wife raved over the sea bass. A great start to our week of Secret Escapes hotel breaks for our Golden Wedding

Disappointing and very surprised expected better
Pros:

The front house staff was very helpful.

Cons:

There was cobwebs in the bathroom, we were not able to adjust the viewing of the TV, as we were not provided with the official remote control. For the amount of money and the level of hotel, you would expect to have a fully functional remote this makes a difference to the comfortability of the room. We made reservations and was not able to dine in the official dineing area. I booked the stay as we were celebrating are anniversary.
The starter was lukewarm, and the bread cold, advised to have a main course that we really did not want. Paid an outrageous price for a bottle of sparkling water. Waited a long time to be served each meal. The jaquezzi was broken the pool water was freezing. DO BETTER.
