This was actually my second stay at this hotel. The first time was excellent — the staff were kind, attentive, and professional. That’s part of why I chose to return.

Cons:

Traveller Beware. I stayed at the Best Western Plus Richmond Airport (5300 Airport Square Lane, Sandston, VA) and my experience was extremely disappointing.

When I arrived, I was charged TWICE — over $1,000 — and the hotel only corrected it after I caught the error myself. I was also charged a no-show fee despite calling ahead AND having travel insurance that should have prevented this.

My 80-year-old mother and I then spent four full days with only cold water — no hot water at all. The hotel refused any compensation under their “policy.”

I contacted management multiple times through calls and emails — all of which were ignored. Zero follow-up, zero accountability.

I have now escalated the matter with my bank and am filing a formal dispute.

If you choose to stay here, carefully check your receipts and bank statements. There are serious issues with billing accuracy and customer service at this location.

The price was good and it was close, but the room was disgusting with the bold, I think I should get a refund

I got there late and could not really see that well but when I got up in the morning, I couldn’t breathe. I had a headache, and then I realized that the whole robe was filled with mold. Pull up in the ceiling in the corners and on the floor in the corners on the wall.

It’s under construction, but they need to take better care of the cleanliness and change the mattresses because they are extremely old. It has a good location and could be much better, but they need to improve. In the non-smoking areas, they should be more attentive because it smelled like cigarette smoke.

Cons:

The shuttle didn't arrive on the half hour as expected. We were there at 5:50 a.m. and had to keep phoning the driver, who said he left "early" to accommodate another passenger. The airport is two minutes away from the motel.
