Everything; food inedible, dirty room, service etc
Full english breakfast really nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice bar with beer at a reasonable price.
no complaints
Stay was lovely with great food.
Lovely staff really friendly and helpful lovely building. Big rooms great shower pressure! Fabulous breakfast.
Creaky bed!
Pretty much everything. Food in the restaurant was good value and plenty of it. Breakfast was fine.
Bed mattress was a bit tired and ‘gutless’.
Nice location and staff were so accommodating and pleasant.
The exterior isn't very appealing and could do with a spruce up.
Beautiful building.
Good parking
Toilet wasn’t working fully.
Breakfast spot on.no problems with the room.thanks
Carpet in the bedroom would be better
I stayed at The French Partridge for work and had such a lovely stay.
Tony and the team were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They genuinely made me feel like I was coming “home” at the end of each day.
Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The team were attentive throughout my stay and always popping back to top up teas and coffees, which was such a nice touch.
The food was fantastic too. I’d highly recommend the Seared Duck.
The hotel itself is a listed heritage building, so it has plenty of character and charm. If you are looking for somewhere polished and ultra-modern, this probably is not it, but if you appreciate historic buildings, good people and a warm atmosphere, it is a really special place to stay.
Quiet, comfortable and full of personality. Thank you so much for having me.
When booking we asked to check-in a little early, which was tentatively agreed. Our journey was very quick and when we arrived (very early) they could still accommodate us without fuss (we were quite happy to wait). All the staff without exception were either pleasant or extremely friendly, and we were made very welcome. Attention was just the right level of care. The evening meal was superb value, and all the food was both hot and freshly cooked. Breakfast was well presented and obviously freshly cooked. Plenty of parking space, and a characterful room with nice large clean bathroom.
Though enjoyable (and two happy guests) the hotel didn't quite shine. Chef a bit over-enthusiastic with the black pepper on everything at breakfast. Walls in the bar area were not clean, and there were a few obvious cobwebs in the windows of the bedroom. Gaps in the bar flooring area might have been a problem had one of us been wearing sharper heels, but this visit it was flat soles thankfully. An otherwise very tidy and well appointed hotel not quite living up to first impressions BUT still an excellent stay, and would (will) stay again. Observations, rather than complaints.
Friendly staff, characterful property.
Good location. Quiet and peaceful.
Bed was a little soft. Pillows and duvet appeared to be feather / down would have liked a non allergenic option. Shower was a little difficult to control and water built up in the tray.
Beautiful building and my room was large and very comfortable with an ample bathroom. Sunday lunch was exceptional!
A lot of stairs and no lift, but it's a 500 year old building so understandable
The welcome we had was very warm and bags carried up the 3 flights of stairs to our room. The building is old and characterful which is something we prefer over modern hotels. Room was large with a large en-suite bathroom. Nice breakfast but had to pre-order the night before. Nice bar area. Only had a cheese board for our meal but this was plentiful and well presented.
Lots of on site parking.
The shower was very difficult to get the water temperature right - it is one of those showers over the bath that is attached to the taps and it was difficult to adjust the hot and cold taps to get the right temperature, it seemed to be either too hot or too cold and I couldn't seem to adjust the direction or height of the shower head.
It just felt a little tired and in need of a little bit of TLC.
Very friendly!
Nice location!
Good value!
Nice overall, dated but ok.
Shocking overcooked food, a real shame, mixed grill £23 inedible,
