Victoria in front desk. She is very professional and friendly.
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and honestly, I left feeling pretty disappointed.
The first impression is actually great , the location is really nice and the property itself is beautiful. You can tell it has a lot of potential. But unfortunately, everything else feels like it’s being neglected, and that really comes down to very poor management.
When I checked in, my room was not properly cleaned. There was a bad smell, dishes were still dirty, and there was even garbage left in the room. That’s something you really don’t expect anywhere, especially not at a place that looks like this from the outside. On top of that, there was no hot water at one point ( in the middle of winter) which is just unacceptable.
What made things worse was the lack of service and communication. During my entire stay, no one came to clean the room even once. Linens and towels were never changed. Every small thing required a phone call. Even something as simple as coffee filters became frustrating, each time I asked, they would bring only one (1). I politely asked if they could leave a few extra so I wouldn’t have to keep calling, I was told that hotel manager instructed them to give only one at a time to avoid “waste.” That really says a lot about priorities, and unfortunately, guest comfort doesn’t seem to be one of them.
I stayed calm throughout and just wanted to speak to the manager to share my experience in a constructive way. I asked the front desk multiple times, but I was always told the manager was not available, even though I was told she was on the property. Not finished yet, there was a construction going on in property and was very loud, top of that there was a huge party in the hotel room next to mine, continued all day and night, again party was not in the bar or event room, hotel manager allowed a party in a hotel room!
Then on my last day, the manager finally called me.
The location was excellent though parking and driving in the area was a little problematic. Traffic detour because a bridge was closed and no right turn at the hotel caused me to be stuck in traffic for half an hour when I just wanted to go around the block.
Unfortunately, both bedrooms were upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs next to the kitchen.
The location is amazing. Also the front desk staff were very kind and helpful.
Unfortunately the stay was very disappointing.
There were some problems like hot water was not always working and there was a bad smell in the room. I informed the front desk and they were kind and tried to solve it, so this was not the problem for me.
The big problem happened on Saturday.
From Saturday afternoon until midnight there was a huge party in a room near mine. This was not few people, it was 60 people (staff mentioned this number) Music was very loud, people were shouting, going in and out of the room and using the hallway like a party place. Again, one room with 60 people!
It was impossible to stay in the room for the whole day, even though i paid to stay and rest in the room. I could not relax, could not rest, and there was no quiet at all. It felt more like a club than a hotel.
I don’t understand how a hotel can allow 60 people party inside a hotel room. This is not acceptable and not fair for other guests. A hotel room should be a place to rest, not a place for big parties.
Then it getting worse, When I wanted to talk with a manager about this, they told me there is no manager on duty, which is also very disappointing. For such a serious problem, there should be someone responsible to handle it, at least someone can listen guests concerns.
The worst part is that this situation continued for many hours, until midnight. The whole day was ruined and very stressful for us.
I want to mention that Front desk staff were polite and tried to help, but the hotel management clearly did not control this situation properly. Because of this experience, i would not stay here again and would not recommend it to guests who want peace and quiet.
Nothing, all great
Location was good
Room was very gloomy and outdated. Rather depressing, boxed in, no outside views, and not a lot of daylight.
It was very clean, comfortable and centrally located. The staff was very helpful. It felt very homey.
It would have been nice to have air conditioning.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was wonderful. There were lovely double doors on the main floor that opened to a beautiful view of the harbor. Soundproofing was excellent when the exterior doors/windows were fully closed.
The furniture in the main living area could have been arranged to better take advantage of the harbor view. Kitchen chairs were not very comfortable.
Great location. Blends the security and service of a hotel with an apartment-style unit that you would normally have to book via AirBnB or the like. Highly recommended for families looking for a reasonably-priced place to stay in downtown Victoria.
It was somewhat warm and humid during our visit, so getting the temperature right in the unit was tricky, but we sorted it out.
Just off the beaten path, but close to everything. Traveled with my mom so having a basic 2 bed apartment for close to the same price as a hotel was amazing.
Very friendly, and drinking coffee on the patio in the am was nice.
It may be a little dated, but it was quite comfortable.
Rooms are large
Zero soundproofing. You can hear Word for Word what your neighbours are talking about. It’s just dreadful.
- Location! We drove in from the States but walked everywhere! We had no need for a car! lol It stayed safely parked at the lot directed by the hotel staff. Additionally, the hotel is within 10 mins of the ferry drop off so it was super convenient!!
- The Staff - the most wonderful people work at the hotel!! So sweet and helpful.
- Room size - AMAZING space! We stayed in the king bed studio. Bed was very comfy, full kitchen, desk, multiple windows overlooking the water and streets. And considering the restaurant and bar were right below us, we couldn't hear them after 9pm!
The bathroom was small considering the rest of the room size. But it had a tub! And there's a full length mirror on the back of the door.
Location, spacious, friendly staff!
Great location
Parking not on site
No breakfast at pub
Pub closed at lunch
Booked a cot with Booking.com. Wasn’t permitted by hotel. Wires crossed so that needs to be shored up.
