full of character lovely room and decor
uncomfortable mattress
Location was good and only 5 minute walk into the centre, room and free standing bath was nice, bath and shower had good power. Ian front of house was a great welcome and so friendly when we checked in - the anomaly amongst the customer service team.
Parking charges were a surprise at £8 per day, the breakfast was poor and overpriced at £20+pp, poor management and customer service. We had a poor first night sleep due to being disrupted by a guest - a regular at the hotel - who was knocking on our door and trying our door handle at 2am, jolting us awake. Other individuals on our floor were disturbed and complained. Despite knowing who the individual was, this wasn't resolved and the guest wasn't challenged or asked to leave the property, no gesture of goodwill given and manager John wasn't prepared to reassure us in anyway and refused to take accountability; so we will be escalating this further. Extremely disappointing and poor customer service skills for a manager within hospitality. We understand hotels cannot control their guests, but they can prioritise guest experience and their safety. No resolution made us feel uneasy and unsafe on our second night staying in the hotel. We wanted to dine in the onsite restaurant on our second night and visit the bar, but due to how we had been spoken to and been made to feel by the manager, we didn't feel comfortable doing this.
For a luxury four poster room, the bed was small and the mattress could do with replacing as it dipped. No mini fridge. Not enough tea/coffee/milk in the room. We are disappointed as we booked this hotel based drawn in by its luxury feel and decor, with promise of a luxury stay at almost £500 for two nights, yet this wasn't what we experienced.
Location, the style, the atmosphere.

Lovely clean hotel in ideal location
Standard facilities, nothing to dislike
Beautiful building
Our room was SO noisy. Clashing & banging of doors ALL night! Horrible
Don’t stay in 10 Downing Street
Decor and location
Breakfast was very good , I asked for a higher room as when we stayed before we were in the basement with a tiny window and it was very dark so this time our room had a nice big window that you could see out of
We found our room was to hot even though the heating wasn’t on so would be worried if it was summer
It was a lovely room
Really good location for the city centre. Nice hotel and staff were really helpful.
We stop in a small double but on arrival there was workmen outside the window which started early on the morning with power tools. Room was too hot. ALTHOUGH this was an issue when we spoke with staff they were really polite and helpful and moved us to another room at the other side of the hotel.
