The location to York city centre is great.
Room 115 is horrific, it’s a lot smaller than you’d imagine the boiler room is directly underneath so you have a constant whining noise from the boiler all day and all night which you can’t ignore, due to being above the boilers the room is ridiculously hot and has no air conditioning except a simple plug in fan, I can stress enough this room should be avoided at all costs, when I mentioned this they offered me an even smaller room which didn’t even have a window just a tiny sky light or as they said via email ‘we will refund your next night if you don’t want to stay’ having booked train tickets etc and the fact it was a weekend away why would I do that so I dealt with the noise best I could with no sleep and was just met by fawning staff in the morning asking how my stay was!!!!! How was it are you for real!!!!!
Lovely building. Beautiful garden
My room . There’s an air pump heater or air con fan outside the window of the room that kept us awake all night The room (109) is also next to an entrance door so I heard everyone who passed through the door all night/early morning Awful nights sleep and woke exhausted
Certainly the location was exceptional and staff, food and bar facilities were what we were used to and brilliant.
Car parking can be a problem but we have never not been able to get a space.
We will be back.
Only one small problem, we were unable to set the temperature of the water from the shower which made it difficult to use and could have been too hot for many!
Location and breakfast was great
Water in the bathroom not very hot
The room, the decor, the location. Brilliant stay. Would definitely stay here again next time in York.
Nothing really.
The location
The outside pods
The inside bar area is very small.
A young girl (appeared new) waiting on bar tables was very miserable.
Lovely hotel on an older building. Our room was on the ground floor next to some outdoor seating but we weren’t troubled by any noise. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good.
The coffee, tea and KitKat in the room was nice.
The room was a little warm and we weren’t troubled unable to open a window.
The staff were amazing especially Ian
Great location and we will be back
Nothing!!
Great central location , really friendly attentive staff would definitely recommend this place to stay for a visit to York
£15 for a pod in the garden
