This place is simply amazing! Ubus has become a very busy place, but you won't notice it when you are at ARMA—the museum and the hotel have such a great area, it feels like a whole separate world, truly Balinese. It's beautiful and serene, and has so much to see and to do. The museum itself is a gem, the gardens are lush and invite you to explore, the hotel is atmospheric and comfortable, the staff are incredibly nice. There are cultural performances and workshops. One day we visited the museum, and never forgot that place, so we came another time to stay at the hotel—it's a wonderful experience we would definitely recommend!
A synopsis of our stay at Arma Museum and Resort in Ubud, Bali
The grounds are gorgeous, and we spent a lot of time exploring the grounds (including the museum) and enjoying the beauty of the resort. There is always staff taking care of the flora and fauna; it’s well maintained. Please note there are a lot of stairs for anyone who may have mobility issues.
The resort offers many amenities, including airport pickup/drop-off, onsite spa, coffee shop (free tea or coffee w/snack at tea time), as well cultural workshops (eg. learn how to play the gamelan, yoga classes, etc).
The restaurant onsite is terrific. We had breakfast there every morning (except for the one morning we did a floating breakfast - extra fee). The variety and food was good, offering local/asian and western options. I never went hungry and honestly wanted to eat everything. The staff is wonderful, attentive and friendly. We had dinner there twice, and both times were great.
The location is terrific. It’s right in the heart of Ubud. Sacred Monkey Forest, and other attractions are within walking distance. There’s plenty of food options (restaurants, bars, warungs, etc.), as well as grocery stores too.
We booked a villa with a pool for our stay (rooms are also available). It was lovely. The room was spacious, with a seating area (think bay window with seat). The sink is separate from the toilet which along with the showers are outside. The toilet and shower is in an outdoor bathroom, with a second shower completely outside (total Instagram moment). There’s a mosquito net covering the bed, there’s also air conditioning in the bedroom as well. We found the bed comfy, pillows too, and the blanket was a good weight. Room was clean (housekeeping comes everyday), and also has a mini fridge along with a kettle (tea and coffee) plus extra toiletries (eg. dental kit, comb, etc.). There’s a gate to come into the outdoor space, which can be locked from the inside or outside (padlock w/key). There’s also a lock on the main door on the villa itself.
The Arma museum is quite informative displaying Balinese art and artists, as well as providing some background info of Walter Spies who influenced modern Balinese art as well. Entrance/access to the museum is free for those staying at the resort.
We would highly recommend Arma Museum and Resort in Ubud, Bali.
Perfect location and beautiful landscape
Do yourself a favour don’t stay here!!
This hotel is nothing like photos. The place is far from a paradise and more like nightmare. Bugs, spiders and swimming pools are shaded and poor. Food was awful and could waiting to leave the place
An oasis of tranquility and history in the middle of Ubud. This hotel felt like being in an ancient Temple. The staff was very friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Everything was just perfect.
Staying at Arma Museum Resort was an unforgettable experience. The resort is set within the most stunning grounds, surrounded by lush gardens, traditional Balinese architecture, intricate sculptures, and serene ponds filled with fish. Everywhere you look feels like stepping into a living piece of Balinese art and culture.
What makes this resort truly unique is its connection to the Arma Museum, where you can explore an incredible collection of Balinese and Indonesian art right on site. Having access to such cultural richness within the property made the stay feel even more special.
The staff were equally wonderful very warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with a smile. They even looked after my toddler so that we could have breakfast. Their genuine hospitality added so much to the peaceful and inspiring atmosphere of the resort.
We highly recommend Arma Museum Resort to anyone looking for more than just accommodation , it’s a place to immerse yourself in beauty, tradition, and culture while being looked after by lovely people.
Outside the gates, it was noisy but inside the resort was peaceful and quiet. A sanctuary. Beautifully landscaped with statues, water features, ponds and trees and flowers.
Great restaurants and art gallery, plus live shows with great music and traditional costumes and dancing.
No words to explain our gratitude to this hotel and its people. The place it’s beautiful and the service that we received was outstanding. We had day trips with Dewa Dharma and also with Gus, the drivers, they make us feel like in home
The Arma Museum is located in Ubud. It also has a resort and a restaurant with a delicious menu. It's perfect for a vacation around Ubud.
Absolutely unacceptable experience. My partner and I woke up covered in bed bug bites all over our bodies and faces. We inspected the bed and found clear evidence of bed bugs, which hotel staff later confirmed. Their “solution” was to vacuum the next morning, meaning they expected us to sleep in the infested bed again that night. After we refused, they brought in a new mattress around midnight, but we still found bed bugs in it.
By the next morning, we had even more bites. No one followed up with us. When we asked if they could at least do our laundry for free to help prevent taking bed bugs home, they initially offered only 20% off, then 40%, and only agreed to free laundry after we said we’d skip it entirely.
This hotel showed zero urgency or proper protocol for a serious health hazard. We will never stay here again and would strongly advise others to avoid this property.
Having stayed down on the beaches, it was lovely to now feel we were in the countryside, with lots of attention to environment and genuine culture.
Rooms were lovely, ours overlooked swimming pool and rice fields Bird life interesting and squirrels!
Food was good, well presented. Staff went overboard to be helpful and smiley!! A different Bali to the tourist noisy coast. Good supermarket just outside the gate. Thank you
Arma is an amazing place, with a beautiful garden in Balinees style, with temples, statues, ricefields, bridges and the river. We enjoyed one of the villa's, same atmosfere, beautiful. Also the staff was so friendly and helpfull. We enjoyed our stay als we hoped to be.
Beautiful property and walkable to to Monkey Forest rd. Would return.
Amazing hotel! Really beautiful resort, the surroundings are stunning and very relaxing. Staff go above and beyond to make your stay perfect
Everyone was nice and helpful. Property was beautiful. Lots of things to do. Comfy beds.
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful resort. Our room was comfortable and clean. It felt like we were surrounded by a forest, even in the middle of a busy area of Ubud. The staff were caring and professional.
I also liked that the resort offers cultural activities and works to preserve Balinese culture.
The grounds of this hotel are the shining star of this hotel. It completely blew me away with how stunning it was. You truly feel like you’re in Bali. The hotel room needs to be updated with a lot of parts in the bathroom in bedroom that looked old or dirty (rim of the bathtub). That was the only downside of our stay. Overall we loved our stay!
We loved our stay at Arma Museum Resort. The place had a lovely atmosphere and was kept clean at all times. The staff was very nice and attentive. There were restaurants and massage places just few minutes walk away. Supermarket right opposite and an ATM machine inside the supermarket. I would highly recommend this place for your stay in Ubud.
Yine Ubuda gidersem yine arma resort otelde kalırım
An exceptional hotel resort with so much natural beauty and culture. I am certainly coming back but it is for a peaceful cultural experience. People who are in the arts would appreciate.
