I just wrapped up a stay at the Hampton Inn Downtown Montgomery and had a great time. Huge shoutout to Evan Gordon for being so awesome and making sure I was totally taken care of. He really went out of his way to help me out, and you can tell he actually cares about the guests. It’s those small details and his friendly vibe that made the whole trip feel easy and welcoming. If you’re heading to Montgomery, definitely look for Evan because he’ll make sure you’re treated right!
The property was in a good location
The refrigerator didn’t close and water dripped on the floor. The vent hummed all night and day.
Horrible
Black mold. No cleaning service. Floors nasty
location
room not up to good standard
Location and historical age of hotel was great. Room was spacious and clean.
Currently being updated and one elevator and floor ice machine were out of service. Street noise was bothersome on one side from a bar.
Location and building has an old southern character just needs freshening up.
Needs some love and tender care to get the best experience from the hotel. Layout is great and has charm just needs decide and furniture refreshing.
I travel every week and typically stay in Hilton’s and this is by far the worst Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in. It is absolutely filthy. The carpets are badly stained and nothing looks like it’s been vacuumed in weeks. There is no toilet paper holder. There is no microwave or refrigerator although my daughter’s room had those but the refrigerator was broken. There is mold in the showers in both rooms.
Making it worse, it is a place where dragster’s at night come to race. Thank goodness I had earplugs.
Some signs indicate that they are currently making improvements, but I highly doubt that this will be a nice place unless they burn it down and start over again.
Tried to cancel booking because of the recent mass shooting.
Got no reply. Disappointing the lack of response from Hilton
Being totally ignored when I tried to modify my booking
Location is great and the building itself is historic
Didn’t explain the parking situation ($30 valet, which isn’t there overnight, or on street parking meter parking). Room had only one light that worked, no television remote, no hot water, mattress that needed to be replaced, no hairdryer, and ice machine that was broken.
We've been staying at this hotel, on and off, for thirty years for family weddings, reunions and funerals. We've witnessed a steady deterioration. This trip was booked for three days.
First the good news. The staff is pleasant and helpful. That has been consistently so for thirty years. The free breakfast was on a par with other hotels.
Now the bad news. Our first room was the size of a large closet. Towel bars or hooks had been pulled out of the wall and the toilet paper holder was broken. Lightbulbs were missing from the fixtures. We were moved to a second, larger room. The bathtub was extremely slippery, with no non-slip mat. There was rust on towel bars, the TP holder and just about every other metal surface in the room. The room door wouldn't automatically swing closed. The pillows were the size of couch throw pillows. The shallow pocket sheets didn't fit the deep pocket mattress. The drapes were falling of the tracks. The noise of the riverfront Saturday evening celebrating made sleep impossible. We will not stay here again.
I love this hotel! My favorite in the area.
It needs to be upgraded. The window sills and bathroom door had peeling paint. A little TLC.
Always my go to for business traveling.
We cancelled our reservation after we got to the property and were told that there is no on-site parking only valet parking at $30 a night or on street parking from 5 pm to 8 am in a dodgy neighborhood. This was not disclosed in the property description on Expedia.
The location was great for all the downtown attractions.
The staff was thr best part og our stay
Room was clean and comfortable
Disapponted about parkimg.
