My wife and I stayed here for two days in order to tour the many wonderful civil rights sites Montgomery offers. Here are my quick observations:
1. The location is fabulous. We walked to multiple museums (the lynching museum is an easy 10-minute walk), the State Capital, and the area beside the river. The "Alley" is directly behind the Hotel and has many restaurants and bars.
2. I elected to use the public parking lot near the Hotel for $10.00 per day. I had no issue.
3. The Pelton in the gym did not work. I told the hotel clerk, but it remained unfixed after two days.
4. The breakfast was bad. Yes, it was free, and I filled up, but it was largely tasteless. I really hate eating on Styrofoam plates and then throwing everything away.
5. Our room was freshly renovated. It was quite nice and large with a small kitchen and large bathroom with two sinks. Unfortunately, the water temperature was not working. The shower had two settings: scalding and dangerously hot. You could not adjust it. I had to take water from the kitchen sink to rinse off.
6. I would consider another hotel until all renovations are complete.
Valet service was quick and easy. Jay was great!
Old
No complementary water bottles
The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The location is convenient to restaurants and local attractions. The breakfast was satisfactory. The desk clerks were pleasant and helpful.
The carpets and floors in the lobby, elevator and hallways were covered in dust and dirt from the ongoing renovation. Only one elevator was in service. The valet parking is disorganized and too expensive. Parking for one night was nearly $70.00. The attendant was preoccupied with their phone, when we arrived, and when we were leaving, the attendant was nowhere in sight. We would stay again, for the convenience, but we'll self park, next time.
Location
Indifferent staff, refrigerator and coffee machine in our room were not working.
Valet team was great! Jay and Tawana were both awesome!
Convenient to downtown event. Continental breakfast was a big plus as well. I also like the new closet organizers. Nice staff.
Going through renovations so only 1 elevator worked but it’s just a temporary inconvenience.
The valet, Jay, was great and got our car quickly and was very friendly!
The floors were sticky, all the countertops were dirty and sticky. We were completely disgusted by our visit. We stayed in room 201…they kept the music LOUD ALL night..:I put a pillow over my head to try to sleep…we eventually got up and checked out and got up cup of coffee and tea elsewhere
It was terrible
Breakfast, valet parking.
Toilet ran loudly all night first room we were in (16-17 April), they moved us to another room (17-18 Apr) and no hot water in shower, air conditioner did not work, several light bulbs out. Only one of the two elevators working for the 11-srory building. NEVER STAY THERE!!!!
Location and everything about it
Location is brilliant, so is parking and our receptionist very friendly!
It is dated and needs some attention and money spent on it. The lift is tatty, no ice on the top floor and you have to find a staff member to let you in the gym!
Great to be close to every thing but didn't get any sleep as bar across the street had doors open and I could hear music all night. Shower in room 906 had two tempatures scalding hot or cold as ice. No maid service. Parking by Valet only when they were around. If you have to leave you better start on it two hours in advance. Not worth the price.
