It is a welcoming hotel with excellent facilities in a beautiful location.
Pros:

It’s a lovely location. Excellent choice of seating areas for drinks, food or simply chatting. Everywhere comfortable and the outdoor covered area is welcoming, even when the temperature drops because there are blankets.
We enjoyed playing tennis and the use of the pool.

Cons:

There was a very long wait for food at lunchtime. We were sitting at a table on the lovely lawned area, and when the food did eventually arrive, it was cold. We did mention this at the time, but we were all famished so we carried on regardless.

Pros:

The first room was very disappointing the replacement was good. The internet in ration to our credit did not work and the fire alarm sounded at least ten times. This resulted in a argument with a member of staff

Dirty room for £263 a night
Pros:

I booked a £263 pound room for a night
The photos had a roll top bath and the room ‘rose’ where we were put we much smaller older and dirtier than the photos

Cons:

The whole room was underwhelming

Lovely location and grounds were breathtaking
Pros:

Beautiful location and food was excellent

Cons:

Room was far too hot and fan wasn’t working properly. Mould in shower needs a good scrub.

Beautiful location, great staff with delicious food!
Pros:

Lovely location, beautiful surroundings with excellent staff and delicious food. A nice bar and outside seating area.

Cons:

The rooms are very hot, and the windows don’t open in all the rooms, which in hot weather makes them unbearably hot, and impossible to get comfortable even with the fans provided.

Great hotel, highly recommended
Pros:

Beautiful location, in gorgeous countryside, though only 15 mins from Dorking railway station. Excellent staff, great breakfast. The grounds are lovely, great for strolling with a post breakfast coffee or with a drink in the evening.

Lovely grounds & location

Cons:

Rooms were too hot. Hotel seemed disorganised with crowded busy check-in & check-out; long wait for average food from the bar; spa area is run down with facilities not working (shower, lockers). Average breakfast. The hotel is overpriced when taking all these factors into account. The staff were very pleasant especially reception staff.

Das Zimmer war viel zu heiß!
An Schlaf war nicht zu denken.
Es ist völlig inakzeptabel seinen Gästen ein Zimmer ohne Klimaanlage für diesen Preis zu verkaufen!

Avoid if weather is warm or a wedding event happening.
Pros:

Lovely building and grounds.

Cons:

Heaving with wedding guests everywhere, no AC, allocated a west facing room with windows closed and curtain open which with the sun shining in made the room 40c or more. Got given two fans, the windows would barely open. Still unbearably hot in morning.
Reception area cramped and claustrophobic due to the number people about. Dogs in the hotel. Bar under staffed. Restaurant staff not good enough, had to get up and find someone to bring the drinks we had ordered. Food was fine but not to a standard to match the venue appearance.

Well worth a visit and if outside sitting area cleanliness improved it would have been perfect for what we wanted
Pros:

Beautiful property and outstanding gardens. Front of house staff lovely and friendly as were the restaurant staff.

Cons:

It was great to sit outside to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat - however the standard of cleanliness in the outside area wasn’t great. The whole time we were there we didn’t see a table cleaned and often glasses were left for ages and ashtrays full.

I loved everything about this hotel. It was so peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I will definitely come back.
