Staff were fantastic. The breakfast was super. My original room was at the top and a bit warm but they changed my room with no issue.
Lieu très paisible
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Stunning building with beautiful grounds and facilities. The pool was great, definitely a nice relief from the heat.
Staff were friendly and approachable.
Unfortunately, with the extreme heat, we didn't have the most comfortable stay. I asked at the desk about air conditioning. He did explain that as a listed building this isn't possible which I totally understand.
However, we had booked the very large King room, and 1 fan in the corner of the room really wasn't enough.
It made absolutely no difference to the stuffiness of the room at all.
We managed to move it so that we could both feel it a bit all night but it certainly wasn't a comfortable night.
More fans were desperately needed. The reception even commented saying we had one of the coolest rooms so I dread to think what the others were like.
Apart from that the hotel itself was absolutely stunning.
Views, building and grounds
Uncomfortably hot in rooms with aircon units not fit for purpose
Excellent place to stay splitting my long onward journey
Draft cider unavailable
I think the menu need changing plus sandwich’s should be available intil late
Property had lots of character and charm. Beautiful garden. Loads of space. Truly Lovely.
A little bit tired in places. But saying that could not fault Wotton house at all. Definitely would and will go back.
It was lovely to look at and we could get together as a family
It was too hot and stuffy. The staff wer e not friendly or helpful
Beautiful place to stay
Everything
Beautiful setting and buildings
Lack of air conditioning or working fans
The setting is wonderful and the grounds largely well maintained. We loved the lawn space for playing with a 3yo. Also several small empty rooms on ground floor for early morning entertainment of 3yo without disturbing the rest of the house.
Some of the staff were very efficient and polite despite some other visitors being rude & difficult.
Unfortunately other staff were rude and ineffective. We think staff ratio was too low for the number of guests putting them under unfair pressure.
Rooms very hot due to excessive heat outside. No aircon in bedrooms but there is some in public rooms. Dyson air cooler insufficient for the job in bedrooms. Aircon unit had tube going out of open window - counterproductive!!
Fiasco with pizzas on Saturday evening: we tried 3 times to get something to eat from the very limited ‘bar menu’ The pizza dough was raw in the middle, the bottom of the base white & barely cooked. Even after a specific conversation with the (Italian) maitre d’ the 3rd pizza was inadequate.
You Order at the bar but confusion with table service outside as ‘tables have lost their numbers’ - can it be that difficult to find a way to renumber tables in an hour or so of preparation time?
Some of the decor and furnishings are lovely but the paint & putty were peeling off window frames in a primary suite. It’s a great building that demands continuing care but doesn’t seem to get it.
Self-service Breakfast standard, middle to poor: bacon batch cooked & dry, limited choice of bread to toast, only 1 of 3 coffee machines working (then the grout container was full), limited cereal & fruit choices, understaffed to clear plates (we did it ourselves)
Really love setting, lovely staff, nice food and beautiful restaurant, so relaxing, just what we needed.
Hot rooms. I've been to your hotel twice both times ended up on the ground floor but it's still so hot. The fan isn't enough, you need aircon.
It must be boiling when it is heatwave time as it was as just sunny both times.
Tv with Internet and streaming services netfix etc would be amazing
Beautiful building and grounds, set in the stunning Surrey Hills
There was little attention to details. Step ladders left out, bag of dog waste laying around. Litter floating around. Tables not cleared. Seemingly understaffed tbh.
Rooms were disgustingly hot with only a single broken pedestal fan in the room to blow around hot air.
Bathroom is tiny, actually difficult to get into the shower/bath.
The location is great.
The beedroom needs updating, the ceiling is stain, window frame needs replacing. Not enough light in the bathroom.
Gorgeous location and so well maintained - lovely decor and rooms.
The room was boiling - there was a fan but no way to open the window more than a few inches. We left early as we couldn’t bear the heat. Seemed short staffed, tables not cleared and messy. Menu very limited at the bar with no gluten free options.
Sofia ice lattes amazing every morning in the hot summer. Th Al you Sofia and the bar tender in the evening sweet. The Roster and chickens in the garden so sweet the land the beautiful surroundings. My friends thought I was a queen staying here.
There was a huge heat wave happening and lots of weddings the front staff was a bit rude but always did accommodate that’s what matters.
