This is a gorgeous period property that has been tastefully updated to ensure guests enjoy modern facilities, good service, food and drink. Staff are proffessional and friendly and I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Great hotel in lovely surroundings, comfy, very clean and great food but what really makes this hotel is the amazing staff, I’m sure they have all been on a course to make the guests feel comfortable and at home, well done 👍 a big thank you to Harriet, Jordan, Damian and Mia, looking forward to my next visit
Great hotel, service, rooms and food was fantastic. Room was on 2nd floor and wifi didn't work properly. No air con meant the room was hot even on a mild day.
Great hotel in a pleasant setting, nice staff.
Room was spacious and comfortable with a huge window with woodland views.
Dinner was good but they need more healthy options on the menu as everything seems to come with chips.
Breakfast was great.
Overall, highly recommended!
2 night stay in September, staff very helpful, room very nice. Golf and range not on site - ten minute drive - I thought slightly misleading. Grounds immediately around hotel scenic but further walks around the 4 acres need grounds-people to make safe.
Good location for where we were going to. Room was spacious and bed comfortable but it was super hot due to lack of air conditioning and the fan just pushed the hot air around.
We arrived after a long trip, was given a nice refreshing glass of wine, staff very welcoming. We had dinner that night which was great.
Slept quite well first nighy, but lot of noise outside from the wedding but was ok. The breakfast had a good choice, but charged £5 extra for large breakfast, which I thought was a bit steep, as on the sunday the breakfast was help yourself so could have what you wanted. Overall a great stay
My sister and I decided it was a shame - just not lived up to what it could be - history sounded good - photos great - but some rooms blocked off ? We struggled to find somewhere nice to sit - some staff sat at tables in th bar ? - no lounge we could find ? We sat on a sofa in a hallway ! No lift . No Air Con.
Amazing experience, but the bed was very uncomfortable so both of us had poor sleep and woke up in pain.
Otherwise can’t fault the place. Staff very friendly and plenty of drink options at the bar.
Friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent room. Very relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Excellent breakfast. Very impressed with this hotel and would definitely visit again.
Generally ok but for the price some things should be better e.g. the lower section of the shower didn't work, the room was too hot and there's no air conditioning, the choice of bread for breakfast.
A comfortable room with helpful and efficient staff on hand. Good food at dinner and breakfast.
I liked the bar area. There was a wedding the first night so it was rather noisy. Our room was in an annexe which was a little cut off.
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. The receptionists were amazing - warm and welcoming and helpful throughout our trip. The bar and waiting staff were also very friendly and efficient. The grounds and the building were beautiful. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Friendly staff and welcoming
Lovely hotel in an amzing setting. The staff were very attentive, engaing and helpful throughout the visit.
Opportunity for a bit of nostalgia when visiting family back home. Amazing grounds and gardens and the hotel has history going back to 1908. We were in good company, as the corridors are adorned with celebrities who have visited over the years.
A good-looking hotel with many period features. We stayed in an executive room in the courtyard. The bathroom was so small we couldn't both be in there at the same time - I literally had to come out to let my husband go in.
The room itself was a good size and I appreciated a variety of teas being available. It would have been nice if there had been 2 "comfy" chairs. For me, the bed was way too hard, but I know beds are very much about personal taste. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The dinner menu was a bit limited (wasn't a fan of the prawn cocktail but the butter chicken was very nice). Hot options at breakfast were good, even a gluten free option. It wasn't perfect, but probably the best hotel in the area.
Really happy with the welcome from the reception, The ambiance of the hotel was excellent. Parking was easy too. We got a drink at the bar but all the tables were set up with cutlery and menus. The seating was set up for dining only, I would have preferred a comfy armchair, or a ‘snug’ to rest in after a busy day. We had no choice but to go back to our room. There was a room with 4 chairs. But not at all welcoming. Detached and cold, One felt as though you were in the naughty room. Lovely nights sleep and although the room was smaller than were used to, it was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was very disappointing. I asked for tea and coffee. That was forgotten and not very hot when we reminded them. I ordered a small porridge with honey in a side pot. That was ignored or forgotten. It was just about warm. I think a jug of hot milk would have been helpful, but staff were difficult to find as they were busy. My husbands full English was dry and tepid. He didn’t eat it. Overall the breakfast was disappointing. The ceilings had dried tendrils hanging down and needed a lot of dusting. From reception to the cleaning staff, they were all lovely. Ordering a taxi via reception, was faultless. I’d happily stay here again but hopefully a comfortable, comforting room will be available. The ‘lounge area’, they pointed to the night before was also being used for the breakfast buffet. An outstandingly good looking hotel internally and incredibly beautiful outdoor space.
