The staff were incredible. So helpful, we had an issue with the shower in one of our rooms and it was sorted promptly. We also had a member of our party fall unwell and the staff were very accommodating to this and even offered assistance past our stay. The hotel is due to be renovated in the next few weeks so amenities were not great and the rooms were noisy but this will hopefully be sorted with the refurbishment. Breakfast was great. Would love to stay here again after the refurbishment as long as the staff are retained.
Noisy rooms (could hear the neighbours) but as mentioned above it is likely this will be sorted with the renovations.
We're rather disappointed on arrival as the pool was closed as was the restaurant. But were able to walk into town and get meal. Breakfast was excellent and the room comfortable. Most importantly the staff were superb and very helpful. We had a fire alarm on the first night and they responded superbly. Calm and organised and so reassuring. Liaised with fire brigade and the police so that all was calm. The fire was a bin set alight with a cigarette stub. The hotel is about to close for renovations and should be good when done. Well sited and a good centre for the whole area with easy parking a good grounds.
Bed big and comfortable
No hot water for shower
not much
Hotel was run down, decking at entrance was old and damaged, so didn't start off well. £15 for a breakfast on top of an already overpriced room. Didn't pay. No restaurant for evening meal, thankfully. Hotel had previously been used for asylum seekers and hadn't been cared for clearly. Would avoid this hotel at all costs!
The breakfast was good and the staff friendly
The building is outdated
This is not a hotel!
It was closed down after being used to house asylum seekers and has been reopened for some mad reason.
do not use this place.
We stayed one night and booked another hotel the next morning.
How rundown it was. Also restaurant, bar and spa facilities were closed allegedly for renovation. The photos on their website are a little bit cheeky considering what it looks like on the website and what you actually get but the staff and Reception are brilliant.
Stayed there a number of times, but change ownership meant no restaurant facilities apart from breakfast. Dinners were good and one of reasons chose the hotel. Hopefully will be back
Chose hotel for location
The hotel had not been cleaned, the general area was very grubby and the hand plate area on doors were very dirty.
The carpet in the room was dirty and the curtains were hanging off the railing. In the bathroom there was a dirty towel left hanging over heater with what looked like blood and toothpaste on it.
Overall the property gave the impression that it was closing imminently. It was extremely run down. I have tried to contact the hotel but as yet Ive had no reply.
Disappointed that the swimming pool and gym spa facilities were unavailable, there were no bar facilities and no evening meal dining. However, the staff were amazing fixing problems with our initial room and rerooming us. The room was very comfortable and clean.
Great setting close to Elgin centre. Very comfy room with nice view of the gardens. Staff really helpful.
Pleasant girl on reception on arrival, very helpful & knowledgeable.
Room a tad dated but nothing wrong with it
Decor overall in keeping with building’s age
