Pros:

La Cantera is not really a boutique hotel or a 4 * hotel. A better description would be a rustic hotel in need of some sort of renovation. The furniture show scratches that shouldn’t have been there if you considered the price for the rooms. The breakfast is ok. Enough for the morning, but still not impressive like other 4 starts places. The hotel looks clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Probably the best part of this hotel.

Great stay in El Calafate for few days to see glaciers.
Pros:

Nice location overlooking the water view. Many breakfast offerings to choose from. Very spacious room and bathroom.

Enjoyed our stay. Would recommend.
Pros:

The staff are great. The woman who works the breakfast area is so nice. We were staying there on my wife’s birthday (Christmas Eve) and they gave her a small cake. It was really nice thing to do. Also the people who checked us in and the cleaning staff are nice. This says a lot about whomever runs this property.

I also liked how there is a cat on the property who is really sweet.

As long as you have a car the location is great. Beware it is about a 5 min drive up a steep hill from town or prob 15 min walk.

Cons:

For us nothing. Just be aware it’s a steep walk or drive from town
