Extended Stay America Suites - Chesapeake - Crossways Blvd

Picture in listing didn’t match the actual hotel or room. Hotel and room were pretty rough. Furniture in room was broken, ac hardly worked, fridge was old and dirty on the outside, lock on door was falling off the hinges.

Had I not made her call her superior then we would not had a place to stay. What should have been an easy check in as I had paid in advance turned into me having to almost have to throw a fit. So it was no a pleasant experience as we were on a strict timeline to get ready for an event

The service was poor and unprofessional. Staff was dressed in sweatpants .The room smelled of marijuana, the door had large gaps under and barely shut. The room was dirty and dimly lit and the bathroom smelled as if someone had been smoking in it just prior to checking in. I was approached by someone in the parking lot selling drugs and there were people loitering around inside and out. We didn't feel safe and didn't stay. Less than a half an hour after checking in we left due to the conditions and the staff refused a refund on $205 room that was unacceptable. Apparently there was no manager on site due to it being a holiday weekend. Completely unacceptable.

The rooms had a strong pet odor

After arriving and checking in, we couldn't find our room, trash, beer bottles and the smell of weed, all around, we dropped off our keys and went to another hotel. This place didn't feel safe. I travel a lot with my job, this place should be shut down.

The door security lock was broken.

No 24 hour staff, had to use a phone to call someone onsite to check me in. The weather stripping around the door was mostly gone and I could see outside through the gaps. No elevator and I was on the third floor. T he shower barely got luke warm, the was very little water pressure. There was what looked like a pubic hair on on of the three "clean" towels. There was what looked like a pubic hair on the wall of the shower. The was a black splashed stain of some sort on the cloth shower curtain. The toilets paper dispenser was broken off the wall and not repaired. There were large unfinished drywall patches under the towel rack. The refrigerator looked like it was just taken out of storage, it was all rusty and filthy on the outside, I never bothered to open it.

I had a late flight coming in around midnight and was checked out by 8:45 and for those 9 hours with all the issues with the room I was charged $167. That's completely upsurd, it want worth $25. And yes I have pictures of it all. Couldn't complain that night unless I wanted to lose even more sleep, cause I would have to call the guy to come back to the desk to deal with my complaint. In the morning I had a graduation to be at, again would have to lose more of my time and sleep to deal with it. This is horrible, never stayed in a room so bad. I have slept in better conditions on deployments in the Army.

Upon arrival, I was informed that although I had a reservation, I did NOT get a room. I was told that due to staffing issues, 17 rooms were not cleaned, so they could not be used. I hope I will not be charged. I spent two hours driving around looking for another hotel room in the area. As I drove 5 hours to get to to this location. The staff at Extended Stay was ABSOLUTELY no help. They just said sorry, no rooms you are on your own.
