Great, but they desperately need new hair blow dryers
This is such a lovely hotel, perfectly located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, in a safe area of Paris, close to Luxemburg Gardens, Pantheon, Sorbonne, St Michel, Cluny Museum, etc
I had a "small double". It would be a tight squeeze for two people, but perfect for one. Lovely renovated room, with sparkling modern bathroom and powerful, easy-to-operate shower with copious hot water. Coffee machine in room. Daily efficient room servicing
The staff at reception are exceptional---so warm and welcoming, always a smile, always willing to help. Walking into the hotel as a guest is a lovely experience
Breakfast cost €16 . There was a cheese board, a charcuterie board, different breads, plus croissants, cakes, honey, natural yoghurts, chopped fruit in juice, cereals, tea, selection of coffees, etc
Two minutes from the hotel (going towards Rue Soufflot) is a little shop where you can pick up water and fruit, etc
One point : I was flying home from Orly Airport. I decided to use a taxi, as all the online information said there was a strictly-enforced fixed rate of €36 for a taxi from the Left Bank of the city to Orly airport. Which seemed like good value to me. The hotel called me a taxi. The journey to the airport was fast in light traffic. It took less than a half hour. Imagine my surprise when I was charged €60 for the trip. It appears that the taxis the hotel engages have a fixed rate of €55
So be warned.
On the other hand, if you fly into Charles de Gaulle Airport, you can take the RER Line B directly from the airport to the Luxemburg stop. The stop is two minutes from the hotel. Very convenient.
I highly recommend this hotel, especially for its charming, helpful and welcoming staff. I had a lovely stay in the Select.
I absolutely love this hotel! Laurent, Maria, and Melvin are the best! If you want a quiet hidden gem—-come here. The hotel is beautiful and close to transportation. The staff are so accommodating and kind! I’ve stayed other places before but this is my #1 choice:)
We had a truly wonderful three-night stay at this hotel. The location is unbeatable, just minutes away from Notre Dame and the Sorbonne University, making it the perfect base for exploring the heart of Paris.
The decor is tasteful and elegant, and our room was a pleasant surprise—exceptionally clean, comfortable, and more spacious than your typical Parisian hotel room.
What really made our stay stand out, however, was the incredible staff. The reception team is professional, polite, and genuinely friendly. A special thank you to Laurent, Maria, and Yaseen for making us feel so welcome. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!
We spent four nights here in a 'garret' room similar to the hotel's photo. It was delightful: atmospheric and plenty spacious enough with fully adequate storage, clean and quiet. However, the 'pièce de résistance' was the view of the roofs of the Sorbonne university opposite. The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly, greeting us as warmly as the open fire in the lobby whenever we arrived or left. Breakfast was adequate if a little overpriced but the two bistros immediately at hand were both fine. Les Patios, the further of the two, we found friendly and welcoming and worthwhile for any of the three meals in the day. As is so common mid-market in Paris these days, the food was not generally freshly cooked but served very quickly and was mostly quite enjoyable. Breakfast is good value and their omelettes at lunchtime are excellent.
The location of the hotel was excellent for us - in easy walking distance of Notre Dame, the Museum of Cluny, the Luxembourg Gardens (in summer) and just a few stops on the RER direct from the Gare du Nord.
We stayed at the Select Hotel for 3 nights from Jan 1st to Jan 4th and had a great experience.
The room was very clean, though on the smaller side — which we expected for a central Paris hotel and didn’t mind at all given how little time we spent in it.
We chose not to avail of breakfast and instead ate out each morning, which worked perfectly as there are plenty of great cafés and bakeries nearby.
The location in the Latin Quarter was ideal — lively, safe, and incredibly convenient. We made great use of the many Lime bikes close to the hotel, which made getting around Paris easy and enjoyable, and we found the hotel to be perfectly located for reaching all the main tourist attractions.
The staff were lovely and welcoming, although we had limited interaction as we were out exploring for most of the stay.
Overall, the Select Hotel was a perfect base for our trip and we would happily stay here again.
I have just stayed in this lovely hotel for the last 3 nights. Room was super clean and there was a perfect amount of space. The hotel staff were lovely and accommodating from start to finish. The location is perfect if you want to explore the Latin quarter and get to and from the airport or other popular spots in Paris using the metro. Overall I would happily stay in this hotel again in the future.
Great hotel at an excellent location. Clean rooms, and fine ambiance. Most of all, very friendly, competent and helpful service personnel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location was excellent near the University in the Quartier Latin - a perfect combination of lively but not too rowdy. Just a short walk away from the Jardin de Luxembourg and the Musée de Cluny as well as near a metro station. The atmosphere was very pleasant - relaxed, great decor but nothing over the top. Best of all were the staff - everyone was friendly, helpful, professional in every way. We would definitely stay there again and can highly recommend it.
We had a an absolutely wonderful stay here for a short city break. The hotel is is a very safe part of the city . A short 10 minute walk to Notre Dame and less than 5 minutes to the Pantheon .
The hotel is one of the most welcoming hotels I have stayed in , the staff could not have been more helpful they were all exceptionally friendly. The room was very warm and cosy with a very comfortable bed and a great view of place de Sorbonne. It was just perfect.
Great recommendations for restaurants from the hotel and a very short walk to so many great places to eat . Highly recommend ed and would definitely return.
Great hotel located in the middle of Paris walking distance to many attractions
Good boutique hotel right next to the Sorbonne college. We were in Paris during the "Block everything Movement", with city wide protesting going on. But we felt very safe in the neighborhood. Room is very small but is also full of charms. Within walking distance to the Louve and the Notre Dame.
nice location, clean rooms, friendly staff
Very friendly staff, in a great location. Came for my partners 30th birthday and they couldn’t have been more accommodating in making our stay extra special. Will definitely be returning
Location was great. Short walk to Luxembourg Gardens and the Sorbonne. Room was great. Housekeeping was erratic at best. Room was not cleaned until after 4 or 5 pm each day.
Staff was friendly, location was incredible with restaurants, attractions and transit all in walking distance. Room was clean and comfortable.
Great location. Helpful staff.
What a lovely property and the staff were amazing.
Great location - walking distance to so many sites including Notre Dame.
Excellent location for sight seeing, great food and shopping!
The triple room was too small for 3 adults. Not much space to move around in.
For a 4 star hotel, I was disappointed. I booked a small room, but the room layout was poor - e.g. the bed was too close to the bathroom door, and furnishings were average. Also, having to return the room key to reception every time I went out was annoying.
Location was good - walking distance to many attractions, restaurants and train station.
