Quaint old hotel with a good location for us, and a wonderful meadow, mill pond etc
Room 10 is a bit small to be a double room
Lovely features, good location.
Bathroom dated. Breakfast poorly stocked.
The Hotel in general was in desperate need of a refurb. As well as a good clean.Several other guests had made complaints at the desk so I felt its not an isolated incident.
The breakfast was very poor. From before we actually arrived they kept asking me to have the breakfast. So glad we only chose the one occasion. A complete waste of money. As my wife is no longer fit and able it was a little difficult to negotiate the stairs to the room. Was aware of that issue. The main problem was the lack of parking. No provision at all for disabled parking. We managed to get one space in the car park.Which was some distance from the hotel. On initial complaint the receptionist said there was a paying car park some further distance from the hotel. All in all a most disappointing experience and would think some form of compensation is required.
The cleanliness.Paticularly in the rooms. Also the windows were all pretty dirty. The one day we had the breakfast there was an infestation of ants and flies.Very off putting
Location was lovely. We were visiting friends so did not eat at the hotel, but the menus looked good. Lovely outdoor spaces for sitting in the sunshine with wonderful views over the meadows.
Would have liked to have been told at booking that the room allocated was not in the actual hotel building but in a building across the road in the car park! As we only wanted somewhere to sleep this was not too much of a problem.
Location
Rooms need updating
Windows were poor and dirty
Bathroom we had was poor with a bath and shower attachment over that had no pressure
Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is exceptional, with beautiful views and easy access to Sudbury
Room size is very small, bathroom also small ans dated, there was nowhere to hang towels to dry in the bathroom. It was unusual to be provided with a full size ironing board, especially as the room had no space large enough to use it.
It was ideally situated for us because I was attending my cousins birthday party, which was just down the road.
The room we stayed in seemed like it was miles away from reception. Although pretty clean it is in need of some overdue TLC.
The building and surroundings were very nice indeed, drinks on the terrace in the sun whilst watching the wild life and cows
Rooms were a little tired, some TLC needed in areas, also some water for the room would have been nice.
Lovely staff
Comfy beds & pillows
Large rooms
Shower pressure isn’t great (although was hot!)
Rooms on 3rd floor were very very warm (it was a warm weekend) but windows only open slightly
View, location
Stühle im Restaurant und Bar Ritzen haben immer Brotkrumen etc.
Location great lots of parking.
Amazing selection for breakfast.
Drinks were a bit overpriced
Location, staff and service.
Single room small,no sockets near bed,no towel rail in en- suite
All of it.
Location
The food, the bed, no air con
Stunning location and very pretty old building.
Tired bathroom, challenging communication to the kitchen with a table of people paying on different expenses bills, asked for food together two days running and came separately, I had finished my meal by the time my colleagues arrived. Fish pie raw in the middle, offered to give me credit for the next meal which didn't happen, poor communication.
Friendly staff great location
I have stopped here a few times and always end up on the 3rd floor with so many steps to get to my room.
