Howard Johnson Huaihai Hotel Shanghai

Shanghai was our final stop after visiting four cities in China, and we were so pleased when we finally encountered reception staff who spoke English. It’s a good hotel for its value and has an excellent location. The neighborhood is cozy, with nice malls, charming cafes, and lively bars.
The breakfast was decent, although there weren’t many options, it was fairly satisfactory. It would be wonderful if they upgraded the coffee machine, as the current one is quite old.
One suggestion I have is for the staff to be a bit more friendly and welcoming. For instance, it would be nice if they made more eye contact and greeted guests with a smile instead of just looking at their phones at the front desk while guests are passing through the lobby.

I have stayed in howard johnson huaihai many many times in last few years - and I keep coming back to this hotel everytime I am in Shanghai. Apart from 5 star comforts and fantastic location, perhaps the best part of this hotel is their extremely well trained and courteous staff. Specially, Ms. Shirley Liu, Front Desk Manager is highly professional in her approach and we were really impressed by her patience & conversation skills - and the way she explained and helped us everytime we had any questions about travel in shanghai. Overall a very comfortable and warm attitude.

Having said that I was upgraded to a corner suite which was a surprise and very nice. However, call me clinical but likely cos the occupancy was low.

Despite the upgrade, be warned Fenyang road side is undergoing construction so there is noise starting at 7:30am. Ask for a higher floor or a corner room on another side.

Room are tired and has seen better days although they are clean and fairly well appointed. In the 90/00 this would have been nice hotel but the market has moved on.

For the money this is an average hotel priced for business travellers. Nothing luxury here but as I said before the location is ideal.

The best to be said of this hotel is that it is very Central to Shanghai and within walking distance to the pedesterian mall and the Bund. Customer Service is poor and the food is dreadful. Cigarette smoke pervades the entire hotel.

酒店位置很好，交通方便，容易出外活動。但房間設施舊，有些傢具應該要更換，例如坐椅。大堂員工表現一般，如果多一點笑容會令人感覺舒服點，不過清潔房間的員工態度令人滿意！

Great location to go around visiting places, shopping, convenient area for good food, bar, etc. Facility is clean, and friendly staff to help each customers. This is my second time staying and preferred hotel When I an in Shanghai.

This hotel situates at the center of Shanghai - the famous Middle Huai Hai Road. It is so convenient to everywhere by the public transport, for instance 3 subway lines are nearby within 200 - 300 m, not to mention many buses are also available on Huai Hai Road. Restaurants offer good service and food are also in a few hundred meters walking distance. The location of Howard Johnson is great, we stayed there for two weeks, and we love it!

Expediaでの予約の情報が伝わっていなくてチェックインするのに30分以上かかりました。ホテルだけの問題ではないがディーラーとの連携をタイムリーに進められるようにしていたければ助かります。

Considering Howard Johnson is an Old hotel, this one was beautiful, understand that dignitaries stay here. Very comfortable rooms, Be prepared to give up your Passport, they make copies and give it back 2 days later. Mini Downtown close by, not much restaurants, But had a nice stay. would recommend

This is a beautiful hotel right in the heart of Shanghai. Recently renovated, the hotel looks beautiful from hallway to guest rooms. Executive floor is well done, with open view to the city. Couple of problems: language barrier and food. Not all staff can communicate in English, asking for anything can take time, be patient. Food at buffet breakfast are cold, bland, less choices, and boring! I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights, food menu was all the same!

チェックイン時のフロントスタッフの対応はよかったのですが、チェックアウト時の担当者の態度は不快でした。せっかく良い印象でまた利用したいと思っていた矢先だったので残念でした。
