ByWard Blue Inn

The location was ideal for us. The inn is in walking distance of the Rideau Canal where we wanted to skate. We were able to walk to the Art Gallery, Gordon Harrison Art Gallery, the Byward Market and the Parliament buildings. The room was perfect. The breakfast that was included was really good. A step above most breakfasts that are included in hotels. Great variety. Angelo at the front desk was very friendly, helpful and professional. We will definitely come back to this inn.

Very cute boutique hotel with beautiful artwork throughout. The rooms have a kitchenette equipped with a fridge and microwave as well as basic kitchenware and cutlery. They just need to provide lotion in their washroom - which would make this a perfect stay in downtown Ottawa.

We stayed at the hotel in February 2026. We arrived a bit earlier than the official check-in time, but we were pleasantly surprised that we were checked in right away without having to wait. We truly appreciated this warm and welcoming gesture.

The room is not very large, but it is extremely cozy, comfortable, and well-equipped. It has almost everything you might need: a refrigerator, a small kitchenette, a safe, a kettle (although ours was not working), a coffee machine, tea and coffee supplies, glasses, wine glasses, and cutlery. Bathrobes are provided, though there are no slippers. We were also happy to find an iron, ironing board, and a drying rack for clothes. The room includes both a working desk and a dining table, which is very convenient.

The bathroom was comfortable and well-designed. There were plenty of towels and tissues provided, which we really appreciated. The temperature control in the room worked perfectly, allowing us to adjust it to a comfortable level during our stay.

One thing we especially loved was the interior design. Beautiful, bright paintings are displayed throughout the hotel, adding a unique artistic atmosphere and making the space feel lively and inspiring.

Breakfast was wonderful, with a great selection of dishes. There were yogurts and fresh fruits available for my child, which was a big plus for us.

The loaction is perfect. Stongly recommend to traveler who want to visit the downtown attractions and someone has a USA visa interview appointment. it's so close to the USA ambassy.

This place is great! The breakfast is the best complimentary breakfast I've ever had. The room was quiet and clean and the location is perfect. Would definitely stay again.

It is conveniently located downtown, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Parking available in garage.
The service was excellent and I enjoyed the breakfast options in particular the wraps.

The breakfast is one of the best I have had. It includes wraps, muffins, eggs, bacon, and much more. The hotel also offers suits with two seperate rooms to accommodate family travellers. The building feels old but the workers are friendly.
