Quiet and convenient location, nice garden, friendly staff, good breakfast, champagne on the first day. We also got an upgrade to a larger room, thanks to the friendly staff.
As mentioned by some guests already, water does get sprayed out of the tub easily during shower.
Returned to the hotel for a second visit and didn’t disappoint.
Lovely hotel, amazing location and staff are great and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
They took great care to ensure my mum’s accessibility needs were met offering a range of options.
Breakfast is lovely and selection is great. Lovely meal and drinks in the restaurant too.
This hotel is an amazing hidden gem, perfectly situated opposite the forum in a quiet street. It’s a three minute walk from a side entrance with no queues! The colosseum is also only a short walk away as are the Capitoline Hill museums and Emmanuel II Monument. Central Rome is within walking distance for the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and Piazza Nervona. The super medieval district of Trastevere is also only a ten minute walk.
We had a lovely meal in the hotel garden restaurant, I can highly recommend the romantic atmosphere and the mouth watering food which was the best of our five night holiday. The lamb was particularly delicious!
Our hotel room was beautiful, with a wonderful view of the Palatine out of the most incredible huge shuttered windows and life saving air conditioning. It was kept spotless and clean by the wonderful house keeping staff. We could not fault the absolutely amazing staff in this hotel from Omar and Tatziana on the front desk to the bar and restaurant staff. They are all such friendly people who go out of their way to provide outstanding service and make your holiday perfect in every way.
We loved this hotel and can’t wait to return. Thank you so much our stay with you was amazing in every way.
I had a wonderfully stay!! Near the city and clean. I especially want to thank the amazing staff, especially Fabrizio that worked in the reception desk. He was really helpful and kind, during this trip we had a problem and he helped us really well and so kindly. Thank you 🌟🌟
Stayed in this wonderful hotel for our Golden wedding anniversary and we had an amazing time, the Garden room was a good size, the bathroom had everything we wanted (lots of complimentary toiletries if you need them)and was beautifully clean. We ate in the Garden restaurant on the night of our Anniversary and the food was delicious, the service amazing with a special shout out to Mauritzio and Marvin a real credit to the hotel. The choices for breakfast were varied and plentiful and again the staff were friendly and efficient. The only downside of our stay were the Roman mosquitos which feasted on both of us but having been pointed in the direction of the pharmacy by the great reception staff we were much more comfortable. The hotel is perfectly situated for many sights of Rome and we will definitely return to the Kolbe but not in the summer months.
Sorry I was Disappointed. I can understand why this hotel has had so many good reviews which was on of the reasons we wanted to stay there. The location, staff and breakfast were all great. This was a Birthday Weekend Break and I had emailed beforehand requesting a room with a view. On arrival our view was non existent (See Photo). I tired to get a room change and was told that it was not possible which was very frustrating. For a Four Star hotel, the room whilst nicely appointed did not have any complimentary water or tea / coffee making facilities. On our last day I had asked for a late check out which they did provide freely up until 12.00 noon and was appreciated. I had wanted our room until at least 14.00 for which I was prepared to pay extra for but again was told was not possible. I don't understand this as check in times were not until 15.00 and it would not have taken more than an hour to turn our room around. We will probably be visiting Rome again as it is a very beautiful city but we will not be staying here.
Great location and friendly staff. The only problem was being bitten by bugs while enjoying the gorgeous garden, which is really beautiful. The room was spacious with high ceilings. There was a light, wer smell in the bathroom when we entered the room and came back after a day outside, but it quickly went away after one use. And they have arguably the best pillows ever.
Highly recommended.
Just had an enjoyable first time visit to Rome staying 4 nights at Hotel Kolbe. In summary I would say that its 4 star rating is generous based on the room standard which for us was more a 3 star at most. That said, no compliants about room cleanliness either on arrival or daily maid service. Breakfast was fine, would have liked a little more options in way of hot food. All the staff be that reception, dining area, porter or bar were extremely pleasant and helpful making the stay all the more enjoyable hence the title of my review
Alt! Spesielt renholdet og rolig og god atmosfære. Supert personale!
Litt mye lyd fra hagen og restauranten om kvelden (rom ut mot hage)
The staff here makes the difference. They accommodated our group in every way. Our room wasn't large, but it was extremely clean and well appointed. I appreciated having a window that opened to the garden. It is extremely walkable to the Palatine Hill gate (10 min), Mouth of Truth(5 min), Jewish Quarter (10 min), and the Pantheon (20 min). The area has a small grocery and of the best small restaurants I have eaten in. Quiet, almost hidden, I will be bringing my family here again in January.
