Nice hotel, but not so nice Smell or ambiance
Pros:

This hotel is nice, but it is very apparent and was confirmed by staff that this hotel is housing people from out of country long term. Because of this we felt uncomfortable there, they have like an entire community situation thing going on at this hotel, so it felt like we were in their home as we were watching them bring down baskets of their laundry consistently, using the breakfast area like it was their home, and the overwhelming smells. Our entire floor reeked so heavily of curry for the 3 days we stayed there it was very unpleasant (and I normally don't mind the smell of Curry at all). It was crazy they don't ventilate it better to help the smell. Staff even told us they often times need to leave the rooms vacated for several days once a family leaves because the smell is so overwhelming; just to give a sense of how strong the smell is. The staff was very nice, the area it's in is perfect, tons of shopping and food around. But due to the large community actually living there I wouldn't recommend or stay there again personally only because it feels like you are living in their personal homes.

Comfortable room, great size, good location .
Pros:

Love the location . Close to restaurants , shopping &freeways.

Cons:

The fitness room temperature was set at 75’, too hot for workouts . Get fans!
The room was supposed to be “refreshed “ after our second night so we left all our used towels on the bathroom floor to be replaced as indicated . They were never removed , trash was not emptied but clean bath towels were placed on the shelves . No fresh hand lotion or make-up remover or hand soap.
Oh, and trash truck woke us up at 5:00a.m.

A really good stay
Pros:

One of the best breakfasts at a hotel, ever. When most are going cheap by offering only sausage, which I can't eat, this property provides crispy bacon and perfectly cooked scrambled eggs daily, with friendly attentive staff ensuring the area is clean and stocked. Fresh fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, potatoes, oatmeal, waffles, juice, coffee and milk round out a great breakfast that doesn't taste overly seasoned and processed like another chain south of here.

The lobby, dining area, elevator and guest room and bathroom were clean, so no complaints there. HVAC, hot water, fridge and microwave worked great, but I couldn't open the dishwasher packet to wash dishes so had to hand wash with the provided Dawn what I used. You might want to consider pre-washing anything you plan to use. And bring scissors to open the dishwasher packet to help out the next person; it's not clear if that's the responsibility of housekeeping or not.

The halls were another story. I checked in on Thursday evening and saw a bag of someone's fast food trash outside their door that was still there until I checked out Sunday. Inconsiderate of the guest, but shame on hotel staff for not taking it away; it was getting more gross each day.

One unusual thing for a Residence Inn was the tiny bedroom in the King suite. The end of the bed is approximately a foot from the dresser/tv stand, which I, at 145 lbs, barely cleared as I walked by to open the curtains. A huskier person would find it difficult to access the other side of the bed. I've been at other Residence Inn's with the same configuration, yet had feet between the dresser and the bed, so this was odd.

Finally, I was put on the third floor facing north with a view of the roof and the top of the entrance, smack in the middle of two wings. Unappealing view lacking sunlight. A higher floor might have mitigated that, but since I was out and about most of the time, it wasn't too bad. Had I been there for a week, I would have requested a room change.

Overall, a good, quiet Residence Inn that seems well managed with just a few minor things that shouldn't stop one from staying here. The parking lot was large, clean, well lit and felt very safe after sunset, which is an important factor for us.

2 Room Floorplan is great
Pros:

Everything about our stay was great! We absolutely loved the floorplan of our room and appreciated that each bedroom had its own bathroom. We will definitely be staying again!

On another note, the person who checked us in upon arrival was very pleasant, accommodating, and professional. We definitely felt welcomed by her excellent service, and it set a great tone for our stay.

That said, I did want to share one concern. While I was serving myself breakfast, a member of the kitchen staff made a remark out loud about someone being wasteful because some bacon had been dropped near the serving area. I was the only person in the breakfast area at the time, so the comment felt directed at me—even though I hadn’t caused it. I felt uncomfortable and had to correct the staff member, as the remark came across as accusatory.

This won’t impact my decision to return, but I do believe the kitchen staff could benefit from some coaching on guest interaction and maintaining a respectful atmosphere during service.

Thank you again for an otherwise wonderful stay!
