I arrived close to noon on 8/8 and service was provided by Dani Torres, the Dual Assistant General Manager on duty. She quickly got me a room that was on the first floor. Turns out that room had several issues. The next day, I informed Dani of a problem with a noisy AC, jamming bathroom door, flush component issue in the bathroom, and flat pillows. With no hesitation, she apologized for the condition of the room and assigned us to an updated suite. My wife and I have never felt so valued by someone in hotel management as we were by Ms. Torres; she showed that she cared. She set a high standard of quality and care in service that should be the model for all in hospitality service. If we are back in Happy Valley, there is no doubt that we would be returning to the Residence Inn. They had great breakfast too.
Nice rooms
All good
It was quiet. Which was good. Everything was nice and clean. The rooms were nice. The breakfast bar in the morning was great.
Outside of the rooms, the hallways were hot. Like the a/c in the hallways were off. But nothing to complain about.
Breakfast was great with many choices, staff response to our needs, cleanliness.
Ethnicity of guests. Most guests were either going to work or school.
Our room had a very offensive odor. We checked in rather late and were extremely tired so the thought of changing rooms was unappealing…so we lived with it. The smell was so bad, it permeated our clothes and travel pillows. When we opened our luggage the next evening, the leftover smell on our clothes was overpowering! There also were no ice machines available to the guests. When my husband asked where they were located, the front desk handed him a baggie full of ice and said if we needed more to get it from the refrigerator in our room, but our fridge wasn’t making any ice as the ice maker DIDN’T WORK! They also charged $75 for a pet fee. This place was very disappointing.
Great breakfast and clean environment.
The air conditioning was very noisy.
The place was great..Great location..very safe. Great pool. Friendly staff..check in was a breeze.
Pool opened late and closed early.
Great breakfast. Eggs. Bacon. Fruit.
Location
Hallways were dirty
This hotel is nice, but it is very apparent and was confirmed by staff that this hotel is housing people from out of country long term. Because of this we felt uncomfortable there, they have like an entire community situation thing going on at this hotel, so it felt like we were in their home as we were watching them bring down baskets of their laundry consistently, using the breakfast area like it was their home, and the overwhelming smells. Our entire floor reeked so heavily of curry for the 3 days we stayed there it was very unpleasant (and I normally don't mind the smell of Curry at all). It was crazy they don't ventilate it better to help the smell. Staff even told us they often times need to leave the rooms vacated for several days once a family leaves because the smell is so overwhelming; just to give a sense of how strong the smell is. The staff was very nice, the area it's in is perfect, tons of shopping and food around. But due to the large community actually living there I wouldn't recommend or stay there again personally only because it feels like you are living in their personal homes.
It was clean and staff was nice, breakfast was a little slim but still good
The blankets were so dry and stiff
The location
Nothing
Everything is good
None
