RUDE, CONTAGIOUS FLU, Past Reviews of BLACK MOLD & NOT TRUE HILTON QUALITY

DO NOT EVER, EVER book this hotel! If you are a Hilton Honors member, please know THIS IS NOT A "REAL" HILTON HOTEL!! I should have listened to the reviews on the RUDE SERVICE experienced by others and would have avoided this JOKE of a hotel.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK AT THIS HOTEL... AND... READ OTHER SIMILAR REVIEWS, too!!

1- I made a reservation at this "hotel" through the Hilton website.
2- On the day of our stay, my wife tested positive for the flu.
3- I called the "hotel" to let them know she was sick and contagious.
4- The CSR was polite when I told her we needed to cancel, but said I would need to speak to the "Assistant General Manager." (I didn't think much of it and said sure)
5- The CSR comes back to the phone and says that I could not cancel since I was within the 24 cancellation window.
6- I explained that I was aware of that, but didn't think that the hotel would appreciate me brining my contagious wife into their hotel. I further explained that I KNOW the other paying guests will appreciate me not brining her into their lobby, open air breakfast area and their guest areas.
7- After going back and forth through the CSR verbally talking to the "Assistant General Manager" a few times, the "AGM" decided to get on the phone with me.
8- She doesn't say "hello, can I assist you, etc." The uses a raised tone of voice and tells me that, "she already exblained to you that we done did the decision and there is no need for me to talk to you."
9- I reiterated that my wife has been diagnosed with the flu and that I actually thought that they would be appreciative for me not coming into their hotel with a contagious guest. She then states that, "our policy is 24 hours and that again she had "exblained" that the decision had been made.
10- I then told her that I have been a Hilton Honors member for 15+ years and had never heard of a Hilton property wanting a contagious guest to knowingly enter their facility.
11- She then, in some very ghetto like lingo that I still have no clue what she was really saying tells me that, "Hilton has nothing to do wit it and that Hilton doesn't own their hotel or tell them what to do." I let her know that I was aware that Hilton didn't own the property, but that Hilton did require that certain quality standards be in place across all of their brands.
12- I finally told her that I had been a Hilton Honors member and had stayed in hundreds of Hilton properties across the United States and had never heard a "so-called" Assistant General Manager" speak to a guest in such a rude and disrespectful way.
13- Finally, she stated, "you axed but the decision has been made." She then hung up the phone!!!!!

After she hung up the phone, I have come to write a review (in multiple review outlets) and have been reading the other reviews that have n=had similar experiences "WITH THE SAME PERSON!!!! I also see where there are multiple reviews addressing the lack of cleanliness, the rude and incompetent behavior by staff and particularly this "Assistant General Manager" and countless reviews about BLACK MOLD and FUNGUS looking evidence in multiple areas throughout the property. well, no wonder they didn't care if I brought my CONTAGIOUS WIFE INTO THEIR PROPERTY!!!!!!!! I can only imagine with what past guests COULD SEE what must lie beneath that WE CANNOT SEE!!!

Each should make their own choice, but with the wide array of hotel options in and around the Auburn/Opelika area, I WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE A HARD PASS!!!!

Clean and cozy
Pros:

The hotel was clean and the staff friendly, they even texted to ensure everything was satisfactory. Two little issues this was a gameday weekend so they jacked up the prices to $500 night and housekeeping did not empty all of the trash (we stayed two nights). Also, it did not affect us because we were on the first floor but the elevator was out of order. I would have been mad paying that much and have to walk upstairs with my luggage. The staff was friendly and helpful even texting me three times during my stay to ensure everything was alright.

Elevator was down and had been for two weeks. The floor in the bathroom was uneven so the bathroom door would not stay shut. We had to block it to keep it closed. I do not expect this from Hampton and certainly not for the price I paid.

Staff was rude and failed to address concerns. Our room (less than clean) had water running in the tub when we walked in. Handle on shower was loose and didn't work so...guess the cleaning staff just left it running. We were able to use with a pair of pliers. Morning coffee was empty. Notified the people in the kitchen (on their phones at the time) over an hour later still empty. Let the front desk know only to hear them laughing about it and the complaint. Hampton should take down their sign. Staff is literally out of control, and the most dysfunctional Hampton I have ever seen.

The elevator was out of order the whole stay and when I asked about compensation for the inconvenience, I was told no because it was said I had a choice to not check in. This was not true and it wasn't told about the elevator being out of order until I completed check in. Had I known about the elevator prior to checking in I would've weighed my options. If I had canceled after checking in I would have lost money. This was and is unacceptable.

READ BEFORE YOU BOOK AT THIS HOTEL.Went by to see if we could check in at 12pm. NO one was at the front desk, took the manager about 5-7 mins to come out from the back. She told me they dont let ppl to check in till 3pm cause they were sold out and the were cleaning. Their was about 5 cars in the whole parking lot. I asked the manager to add my family member to the room for them to be able to check in. Right off the bat, the manager was disrespectful and was rude to me. My other family member showed up and the person that checked them in and then the manager try and charge us for our SERVICES DOG. THEY ALSO WANTED PROFF OF OUR SERVICES DOG. Then when they went to the front desk to talk to them because the manager called the room 3x and hung up on them so when they went donw to talk to her about whats going in she was talking crap about us 😒 to another employee making fun of us needing a service animal and told them that she was having us kicked out over this. The manager became a smart a * * and was beyond rude. Our family did NOT FEEL SAFE AT THIS HOTEL DUE TO THE MANAGER!!! They went back to the room packed up and left. Had to call Hilton and get them involved immediately. She has no knowledge on SERVICES animals or what you can asked for from them. What ever you do DO NOT stay at this hotel. Even other employees apologize many time on how the manager was acting. After the manager telling us she been in this line of work for 32 years then you would expect that she would have maners and know how to speak to her employees and customers. This makes me not want to stay at another Hilton Property. We called around to a few hotel and for Apt Stay Suites of of Collage St. They could not believe how we the hotel handle this. They were great and help us quickly to get us a room. Apt Stay Suite was clean and would highly recommend you staying at this hotel instead.

AVOID THIS MOLDY, FILTHY HOTE! They upgraded the furnishings and decor, and just painted over and covered over the filth

I'm Gold with Hilton and do not recommend this hotel for the price they charge. They have the nerve to charge $500-800 night for this place during football games and almost $200 for regular days. This hotel is not of the standard to charge that amount. Staff here is amazing, but they are severely understaffed. When you check in, there's one person working in the front desk and running all over for the entire hotel answering requests. Literally one person working in the entire hotel. Whoever runs this hotel is cheap, and should be ashamed to carry the Hilton name and be overcharging people knowing they upgraded the lobby,the furnishings, etc., but did nothing to the structure.

The floor in the bathroom is gray, but you can see the filth in the tiles. Mold around the fixtures- and cheap shower fixtures that lower the water flow to the lowest possible pressure!! Floor molding just missing or falling off, mold in the shower. They think the gray color will make people think the floor is stone so it's clean, but it's not.

As I said, excellent front desk check in staff, but no amount of good staff is going to be able to gloss over the fact that the structure is deteriorating inside, poor quality materials have been used to patch over filth, and the filth is coming through. And then I had the nerve to try to use the iron because I forgot to bring our steamer and it was a cheap as crap iron that leaked all over the clothes and then stopped heating immediately. Just do better and upgrade this property the way it's supposed to be.
Robin at check in is amazing!

Went down to see what they had for breakfast and they had one of those three compartment heater units that was covered with aluminum foil! Aluminum foil! That I had to lift to see what was under there and get the food out like I was at some cookout or something. The egg omelettes were overcooked and hard. The oatmeal was thick and dry. Not much to chew from at all and definitely not very sanitary with a loose piece of aluminum foil sitting on top of food like we were at somebody's house. This place is only surviving because of the name. Wonderful smell until you get inside the rooms where it smell smells like mold. That's why the halls and downstairs are so overly fragranced.

UPDATE--WHY was housekeeping knocking/banging on our door at 8:13 AM when there's a DND sign on the door AND ITS NOT CHECK OUT TIME!!!??? WTH???? You just lost one of the TWO STARS you had! ZERO REASON TO BE KNOCKING ON DOORS AT 8AM!!!

AND AGAIN After I sent the hotel a message and told him about housekeeping banging on my door, told them there was a do not disturb sign and told them I wanted a late check out someone came at 9:30 and banged on the door. I called downstairs and the woman told me that we have been checked out. Asked if someone else from the room checked us out and I said absolutely not. My husband never does anything with check out and he’s been unconscious since last night other than you all banging on our door! Like they checked us out and keep banging on our door and I sent a message that you ignore? Boy I can’t wait to call the 800 number! This hotel sucks beyond belief!

And now I found dryer sheets stuffed underneath the bed. The first one fell out of somewhere in the bathroom the other day, and I thought maybe a guest had left it behind, but I literally just looked underneath the bed to see if there was any filth under there and found dryer sheets stuffed on both sides of the bed so they cannot claim that some guest left them there.
