Staff were very polite, friendly and professional. Breakfast was very good and dining/room service was good as well. The lady that did the activities booking was very knowledgeable and helpful.
It would have been very good if the facilities in the rooms had been checked before guests check-in as we had to get maintenance to fix toilet flush and broken lamps etc. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.

Welcomed from the start by Carolyn the manager, and check in all smooth, bags delivered to the room.
Staff all smiling and friendly and are an absolute asset to the property. Breakfast was great, a selection catering to all tastes from fruit to curry and everything in between. Rooms were clean and comfortable with air conditioning. Although some parts of the resort are ageing, there is an ongoing refurbishment programme but this doesn't spoil the location and the feel of the place. Bar staff were incredible and always happy. Prices were reasonable for drinks and food and of a good quality. The pool area was great with a choice of seawater or chlorine pool. Our time went too quickly as usual and we were sad to leave. I would recommend the resort for the location, the friendliness of the staff and just an around nice place to spend some time.

**Prime location, but the property is in urgent need of attention.**

While the location is undeniably excellent, the overall condition of the property leaves much to be desired. The space feels outdated and in need of significant renovation to restore its appeal.

Unfortunately, the management appears largely disengaged, leaving guests reliant on well-intentioned but untrained staff. While their efforts are appreciated, the lack of proper oversight affects the overall experience.

For those prioritizing location above all else, this might still be a viable option. However, for guests seeking attentive service and a well-maintained environment, this property may fall short of expectations.

Nice mango cocktails but that is where it ends.
Cons:
After insisting we would not take a room at the back of the car park, we waited for half an hour and were given another room. It is the first time I have entered a hotel room to find a cleaner had used the toilet and didn't flush it! There were black hairs on the basin, one light bulb not working and it is already a dark room. The last morning we went to go to the gym at 10am and someone had forgotten to unlock it as it said it opens at 8am so we couldn't get in. The bartender doesn't know what mint smells or tastes like as he put this strange herb in a mojito which we couldn't drink, the breakfast was VERY average (and that is being polite) and clearly aimed at the Indian market. We couldn't eat anything except fruit and eggs. The staff have not had training as it took a long time every time we wanted service to actually get served and at breakfast, the dishes were never cleared away from almost every table. When we checked in, the receptionist really wasn't interested as she just gave us the key and that was it. I had to ask her if there was anything we should know such as where is breakfast and she never told us if we wanted anything from the room there is a number you can whatsapp as there is no phone in the room. We would never return as there is just too much choice of places who actually make an effort.

Disappointing for a hotel listed as ‘5 star’. Location is great, with the beach a mere stroll away. Rooms very basic, and breakfast poor! Reception team friendly, but not much more to recommend about the hotel! Close proximity to the beach was the property’s saving grace.

My two adult sons and I have recently returned from 6 nights at the Frangipani staying in a family room and had a lovely time. The location right on a white sand beach is beautiful and it's about a 5 min/5 ringit (£1) taxi ride from the centre of town. Several restaurants and a wonderful laundry within 5 mins walk. We found the breakfast good-fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, cereal and the room spacious and comfortable. Clean bath and beach towels and water provided every day. Other comments have said the breakfast food ran out but there was always plenty when we got there after 9.30. Yes, the bathrooms could do with an update and parts of the resort were a bit run down looking but that didn't bother us and the staff were lovely. The sunset boat cruise that we booked through the hotel was one of the highlights of our whole trip to Singapore and Malaysia.

While traveling extensively with family i often come across tired resorts..this one was rather exhausted! Starting from the general grounds which had broken equipment, garden implements, construction waste, broken walkways it was a sad state of affairs! Large water tanks greet you to the main greens with dated gazebos and littered beaches! The rooms were functional at best with broken faucets, dated furniture, rickty doors, cracked flooring..comfortable but below average. The breakfast was pointless for most westerners with an odd mix of indian-Malay cuisine! Decent to fill up but again nothing to feel good about..check in was tiresome and common areas dirty and dated with over flowing garbage cans, confused staff etc..No attempt had been made to clean up the area or sweep the beach but that seemed to be common to all sorrunding establishments! I wouldn't return for what I expirieced! Disappointing from start to finish!

We checked into this resort on 21st March and will check out on 26th March'25. Resort is very nicely located on the beach. Staff is very friendly and helpful, mainly front office.

The food is biggest disappointment. Most of the day same menu for breakfast. Very few options for vegetarian. Even vessls are empty by 9.30am thought breakfast time is until 10.00am. When asked for refill, we were told preparation is on .Till 10.15am nothing came, so again asked. Reply we got was disappointing, “Restaurant time is over”.
Menu we get as message, never same on the breakfast table. When asked for cheese slice so that atleast we can have cheese sandwich. We were asked for extra money for it.

Choose for the location only.

This hotel has some of the best views of the whole island has a beach of 400 m two swimming pools and gives an example of sustainability and ecology, all the staff is very friendly, you feel at home, it is a quiet place, perfect for a holiday to enjoy the water, the sun and the beauty of a paradise, has a great Wi-Fi service, and the treatment of Caroline and general manager Zuresh is excellent towards all staff and customers, I highly recommend it.

We enjoyed our holiday last year so much we decided to visit for a longer stay. We even encouraged some of our family to come and join us. It was such a relaxing time with a lovely room and a part sea view. We enjoyed meeting with some of the staff again, Carolyn and Antony and in fact all the staff are very polite and friendly. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Professor Anthony Wong. We understand so much more about the eco running of the resort. The views are superb, good restaurant food and an excellent bar. What more could you ask for.

We booked and requested, if possible, a newly renovated garden bungalow for our six night stay. We had previously stayed in one of the standard hotel rooms, which we liked very much due to the spaciousness and layout, but which had no view. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely reception staff and Caroline, the Guest Relations Manager. We were delighted to find we were staying in a renovated bungalow and it was equally if not more spacious than our previous room, with an absolutely beautiful bathroom with a large free standing bath, an outdoor rain shower and dual sinks. There is plenty of hanging space, drawers and comfortable seating. The bed was a comfortable king size and a new smart tv and good, cold fridge completed the excellent amenities. There was a table and outdoor seating and although there was no view to speak of, we enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels while we sat and enjoyed an afternoon drink. The main pool area is lovely and the minor maintenance issues we had experienced on our previous visit had all been rectified. There were enough loungers and you could sit by the pool or facing out to sea. We enjoyed afternoon drinks from the bar and ate at the restaurant several times, the meals were very tasty and very well priced, the view, while eating dinner is exceptional. All the staff were friendly, efficient and professional. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return again. Thanks everyone at Frangipani!

An exceptional experience and a warm welcome!

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with great kindness by the receptionists, who were extremely professional and attentive. The hotel staff is incredibly polite and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable.

One of the details we particularly appreciated was that the managers Caroline and Anthony personally greeted guests during breakfast, taking the time to introduce themselves and ensure that everything was going well. This thoughtful gesture is rare and truly shows their commitment to guest satisfaction and kindness.

One of the hotel’s biggest strengths is its strong eco-friendly approach. It is an eco-hotel with its own organic vegetable garden, providing fresh produce directly for the breakfast buffet. We enjoyed young sprouts, cherry tomatoes, fresh herbs, and various vegetables straight from the garden they also grows tons of banana, mango and papaya in their own farm mango mango. The hotel runs on solar power and makes every effort to be as environmentally responsible as possible, which is truly commendable.

We highly recommend staying in a beachfront bungalow. With a private terrace and breathtaking ocean views, it’s a wonderfully immersive experience. Waking up to the sight and sound of the sea is simply incredible!
The little extra is that there is a second saltwater pool.

Initially, we planned to stay for two nights, but we were so charmed by the atmosphere and quality of service that we extended our stay to five nights.

The location and setting of the resort is absolutely fabulous within walking distance to the main drag.

The service however at the resort was very slow and it felt like the staff were shocked when you ordered anything as if they were not expecting it. We often had to ask twice as they just forgot to bring our drinks over on a few occasions and it felt like they were deliberately avoiding you and joking amongst themselves.

The room itself was ok but a bit jaded but was clean.

I know you get what you pay for and for the price it was worth it but do not expect anything special and you will not be disappointed.

Frangipani Langkawi Resort is a beautiful resort in Langkawi. We had a very pleasant stay for five nights at this wonderful place.Beautiful scenery, clean and comfortable room, charming sea front area along the resort, good breakfast and beautiful sunset at Mentari Grill and Cocojam Seaside Bar, nice and friendly staffs.
