Cons:

The manager dealing with our stay was a bit rude and judgemental. It said litherland Liverpool, which was a mistake on my app but she pulled a face when she thought I came from there which was not fair. When we was eating there she was taking to staff and pointing at us which made me feel very comfortable. Not happy but it is what it is

Absolutely superb and particularly dog friendly.
Pros:

I stayed with my dog and everything was perfect. We were given a room on the ground floor, next to a door which went straight out into the garden. Everything and everyone extremely dog friendly.
Lovely room with extremely comfy bed. Jet bath and twin sinks in the bathroom.
Live jazz music in the bar on the Friday night. The owner (Helen) joined us for a drink later on in the night and was absolutely lovely.
I cannot comment on the food as I did not eat there (purely for practical reasons).
I would recommend very highly and will definitely be returning myself.

Fantastic 80th Birthday Party
Pros:

From the moment we arrived we knew we had picked the perfect venue for thus special birthday party. The ambiance was perfect for welcome drinks in the cosy bar. We were then shown into the lovely function room. The evening flowed perfectly the team of staff were very efficient and professional. They all went above and beyond to make this one of the happiest nights of our mums life. The food was excellent and served hot to every table. The chef is very talented. Thank you so much to Helen and her amazing team for making this a night to remember

Wedding - lovely stay, choas and lack of communication, but actually a lovely place with kind staff
Pros:

I previously wrote a Google review about this place and how lovely it was. That still stands following a lovely wedding of my friends. It is in a lovely quiet location and is very peaceful. The rooms are really clean and you have plenty of amenities, the only issue I had in the room was the fixed shower head leaked however the hand held head worked perfect so it was all okay. The chef is amazing at his job and is very attentive. The value of the stay compared to what you get is amazing.

With all of this being said, there is one complaint that is worth mentioning, due to a lack of communication between people on a friends wedding day (the reason for the stay) I was told to ask everyone to take their seats in the ceremony room. Unbeknown to me that wasn't the right time or plan.
Personally I can think of plenty of correct ways to come and speak to someone about a mistake on a very special day (my friends wedding day) however the owner Helen (who otherwise is lovely) and a lady with brown hair and glasses chose not to.
Instead the lady with brown hair and glasses confronted me in front of around 60 guests quiet loudly saying that they ring bells and by me telling everyone to take their seats (I was told to be the maid of honour) that I had ruined the entire wedding day.
This should not have been done in front of all the guests as it creates unwanted drama.
I appolguised for the mistake and thought it was done. I was wrong, Helen came in rushing around saying she wanted to find out who told everyone to take their seats as they had ruined everything. Helen approached the lady with the glassess and dark hair to ask who it was, that member of staff then pointed at me and said the fat one with the glassess.
Again this was a hallway full of guests, Helen should not have allowed her to say that or atleast appolguised for her words.
Instead Helen came up towards me with a look of rage in her face. My partner created a barries between us. Helen then shouted up to me that I had caused chaos and needed to stop interfering, this was again in earshot of guests, the photographer and the bridal party.
Luckily I am able to see the bigger picture and despite my initial tears of feeling that they were trying to blame me and incite choas themselves instead of quietly and politely coming to me and explaining the situation, I brushed my upset of for the sake of my friends wedding day.

I believe this feedback is worth noting that after this incident Helen was polite again, the other member of staff too. All other staff were amazing throughout the entire day and the venue itself is lovely.

I had read previously about the need for control portrayed from staff and I didn't think we would experience it, we did however. I did. I kept the bride unaware of it, the groom too.

My reason for including it, is to one highlight to Helen that they made need to work out plans for when things go wrong and better ways to communicate to paying customers, and also to allow future customers to understand that whilst these incidents do happen, it did only happen once as far as I am aware and it was containable, therefore I don't think it is a deal breaker for everyone who would like to have a wedding there.

I would not have my wedding there due to lack of communication at the moment, if that changed I would have it there in a heartbeat, however I would stay there, lovely place and the staff are lovely 99% of the time.

Horrendous valentines stay
Pros:

Stayed for a valentines offer with cream tea and meal which was all lovely
But we were put in a room over one bar which I asked could we have another room they said they had none available
Anyways bed time we went to bed yes the music was still playing as was early
So in the night 1am 3am 4am still playing so I rang down and asked could it be lowered or turned off they ask yes will sort but 5 am still playing by which time we had enough
Packed our bags stormed downstairs where no one was there even after all our shouting
So we threw them keys and slammed the door on our way out
Never again!!

Enjoy the food when you stay.
Pros:

Convenient for our trip.

Cons:

The Hotel was extremely quiet, this felt a little odd. Helen was very welcoming. Apparently their main clients are wedding parties. Room was very cold upon arrival, we were given a mobile heater while waiting the the heating to come through.
