This is a very well-located boutique hotel, with excellent security and very close to the historic heart of Quito. The service was attentive without being overbearing.
The moment you walk into this place it is breathtaking. The decor and style are nothing like I've seen before! So antique yet classy and has so much culture! The staff was incredible and multi-talented. The same man that checked us in was also the doorman and turns out the breakfast cook as well. No one can enter the building unless the doorman lets you in, so I felt safe in the building.
This is a small staff operation, and I suspect a husband, wife and son. The older gentleman was great in trying to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was very nice.
The reception person could not get his credit card machine to work and badgered me to go to a ATM. There was a sign on his desk that showed they accepted VISA and Mastercard. Instead of trying to get the machine working, he repeatedly told me to go to an ATM. I refused and asked that they fix their problem. They ultimately did this and the card went straight through. The hotel was warm and the window didn’t open. The staff controlled the a/c for the entire hotel. The step that goes from the bedroom to the bathroom is dangerous - a foot high. It was not a comfortable stay.
Our hosts were the most attentive people! From our late check-in, beautifully presented breakfasts and lovely dinner, we were treated with kindness and hospitality. Our room was well appointed, quiet and comfortable. The lobby, guest sitting areas and top floor viewing space were inviting, interestingly decorated and comfortably designed. This hotel is a hidden gem! We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Quito!

This is a quiet, charming hotel well-located in the heart of Old Town Quito. The staff are extremely helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is great and kept us fueled for hours of walking. All of the rooms are well-kept, clean and comfortable, and the sitting rooms on each floor are filled with Ecuadorian artwork and antiques.
Everything was perfect
Location in the Centro Historico can’t be beat. Very close to the pulse of old town Quito. Easily accessible to main square, churches, shops, restaurants, etc.
Breakfast each morning was exceptional and included a freshly blended tropical fruit juice each morning; maracuya, guanábana, mango, guayaba, strawberry, orange, etc. Fried eggs cooked to order, bacon, toast, yogurt and coffee. Evening meals available on request. Next day laundry service.
I was able to book all my tour needs at the hotel using their preferred agency. Carpedm arranged tours to all the sights on my list.
Tarquino was on duty most days. He’s great and always anxious to help out.

The premises and the style of the hotel have precluded the built in of a lift.
