Stayed as a four ball on a good deal- dinner, bed and breakfast plus two rounds of golf. Golf course in really good condition, as is the 9 hole pga academy course. Room was a decent size and spotlessly clean. Food was good. Service though let it down- breakfast on a weekend does not start til 8am which is no good for early tee times. They advertise a coffee bar that opens at 7:30- that was unmanned and no one to be seen. Staff seem generally miserable apart from the breakfast host who was very pleasant and friendly.
We were not happy as our stay was cancelled on the day we were due to check in.

Was ok but not worth 4 stars
At first room 119 windows doesn’t open, room was dull, carpet full of stain, room was dusty headboard, top of wardrobe and picture frame looks at not clean at all. Second room still full of dust, remote control was missed, was only one breakfast tea etc
Spa facilities and golf
Room 211 had a damp smell when entering the room. Which disappeared once we'd been in it a while and opened the window and ran the water. A coffee machine would be a nice touch in the room.
The roms are spacious and comfortable
Daughter and I had lovely facials with Susan, relaxing atmosphere in spa area then followed with afternoon tea. Rose, Rachel and Anne were very attentive to us. Accomadating to my gf diet and daughters pregnancy. Relaxed lunch. Had a lovely birthday.
A magnificent afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings. Spacious, comfortable dining room with exceptional service from the delightful Rachel and Rose. The food and the tea was perfect and every need was anticipated. If you've never been, I recommend that you give them a try.
Brilliant golf trip with the lads....good food, great service in the hotel and restaurant. Golf course was good considering the lack of rain recently. Par 3 course was mint too !! Shame about the pro shop, lack of Branded clothing and being told we had no buggies booked when I had an email confirmation from the pro shop to confirm we did. Would definitely return.

There’s nothing I didn’t like but would have liked robes and slippers in my room but that’s about it.
We have just had a gorgeous afternoon tea at Formby Golf and Spa. Delicious food and well presented. Our server (Connor) was very pleasant and obliging, nothing was too much trouble for him. Well worth travelling from Runcorn to Formby.
