The spa facilities were nice, room overlooked the course which is lovely
Not enough staff on, limited food choice, restaurant area was not clean (dirty chairs, carpets, etc)
The restaurant in the evening was very nice. The fire doors were banging open through out and causing a cold draft. The food was good and staff were diligent.
The room…. Well. Quality is subjective. On arrival the room was not acceptable to be honest. There were many issues and it was more of a lower budget quality than what I expected. The fridge didn’t work, the garden view is in my opinion false advertising as it’s a very small price of grass land with a fence you can see over that rattle all night in the wind. The view was of the skips. The bathroom bin was smashed in, the shampoo was a bottle with shampoo wrote on it, the bed was on wheels so moved everyone you were on it. The bathroom towel rail was broken and hanging off, the tissue boxes were empty and I could go on. Just not at all on it. To many things wrong and became a regret very quickly. The pool was a bit chilli also, it what i usually expect from a SPA. In my opinion. Was probably great in its hay day but needs a lot of attention and not worth the money.
Basic breakfast no ketchup!!! Sausage poor staff poor
Staff not helpful at all no ketchup poor sausage
The choice of facilities, the ease of booking a spa treatment and for dinner. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. It was lovely.
There wasn't anything I didn't like.
Spent a sunday night here as part of a spa package. Only live 20 minute drive away and now think why have i never visited before! Spa great, massage great... evening meal fabulous. By far the best breakfast the next morning ive had in a hotel ... definitely will return
Me and my daughter and I had a spa day at Formby Hall spa, and it was absolutely amazing!
We were welcomed by Zippy at the spa who was attentive and friendly whilst she managed multiple guests efficiently and calmly. We spent some time in the pool area and th4 heavenly room, which was realxing. We had the experience of a Swedish massage for me (with Megan - best massage in years) and a facial for my daughter (with Suzanne, again she was great). We then had a light lunch - we were expecting a basic salad or sandwich but were offered 2 courses from a good menu. The food was delicious. One more thanks, Dave, from the hotel (possibly hotel manager).
Excellent service and value for money from everyone we encountered and will definitely be returning.
Fab time had by all , enjoyed the atmosphere and the Spa experience, full body massage 💆♀️ and the over night stay 🛌
Great food, lovely drinks 🍸
Especially the Great friendly bar staff, Elliott + Mason go above and beyond for an excellent Hugo Spritz 🍸 + cocktails, Great job boys .
Excellent service from all especially from bar staff mason and Elliott who are excellent mixologists
Lovely experience start to finish. Reception team couldn’t have been more helpful. Elliot in the restaurant is my absolute hero! Thank you so much Elliot! My flight was late and had a massive train delay (I’d been travelling all day from the remote north of Scotland) and arrived after the restaurant was shut but Elliot sorted me out with dinner and couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful.
Decent enough hotel, but it is not 4*. Firstly the negatives. The foyer and entrance seating is not warm and welcoming and the bar in this area is never staffed. On the matter if staff, there aren't enough at anyyime of the day. The management are being too mean, and We didn't see any managers during our stay. The staff here are doing their best but at busy times they are at least two short. If means long waits at the bar and tables not cleared of glasses and breakfast tables left and drinks not replenished. It is not 4* service, but I reiterate the the staff are nice, they are just run off thier feet.
The pool, gym and sauna are good. Mens showers could do with a deep clean however. Black grout. The bedrooms are big, showers and bathrooms good and the beds and pillow are comfy.
The hotel needs investment.
My boyfriend took me here for my 21st Birthday present, we were able to use the spa from 1pm the day of check in which was good to get us nice and relaxed. Our hotel room was very clean and spacious, we even had a seated area outside our room which we would have loved to use if the weather was abit nicer. Our food in the fairway grill was lovely and service was fast despite being quite busy. The next morning we had our breakfast which was buffet style. We were able to use the spa after check out until 1pm. My boyfriend treated me to a ESPA Treatment before we left, my therapist Fiona was so lovely and took great care to make sure I was relaxed and comfortable throughout. Thank you everyone at Formby Hall for looking after us !
Nice settings
Understaffed
Room was spacious
Very cold in the room due to ill fitting patio doors - Bar and Restaurant were untidy due to amount of glasses , food and cutlery lay on tables and not cleared away , expensive drinks
