Another excellent stay as South Lawn Hotel . Great location .plenty of parking and EV Charging is available
Nice walk to the sea front ,large lounge areas and very friendly staff
We have stayed here 6 times since finding it and will return again later this year
An excellent stay at The South Lawn Hotel yet again .
The staff are most welcoming and friendly. The room we were staying in was very clean and comfortable.Certainly value for money. It was again a very nice place to stay in and the staff are very helpful and polite and efficient.
We’ve just arrived at South Lawn Hotel for our first visit of 2026. Despite arriving early as we always do to make the most of the day, our favourite room was ready for us to access straightaway. As we’ve had a couple of drinks and lunch in the bar, the friendly team here have all had a chat with us and made us welcome and at home. This really is our second home. Great to be back here again to relax and it’s only day one.
Sentimental reasons for visit, Mum had liked the place.
Squeaky floorboards, a bit higgledy piggledly re floor layout which I loved, all the staff lovely, I’m a waitress, and noticed lots of details at breakfast service which suggested generosity.
Can’t think of anything
The room was large with a comfortable bed. Sadly there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom, I mentioned this on departure and hopefully it has now been sorted out.
I found the breakfast disappointing the scrambled eggs were obviously not cooked freshly as they resembled rubber.
Could do with a choice of herbal tea in room rather than just tea and coffee.
Please see above.
As always, welcoming. comfortable and staff of the highest calibre ! Firm favourite for us, thank you all !
We only stayed for one night for a family event so didn’t really use any of the facilities. However, we managed to leave some clothing in the room and I was very grateful for the help in finding them and storing them until I could collect them some weeks later
We had the most wonderful stay, booked as Bed & Breakfast - (but added dinner!!)
(the 'fish pie' is simply the very best we have ever enjoyed; if you like this dish, try it or miss it for ever !!)
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome.
The room was spotless, nicely decorated, and so quiet and comfortable; we slept amazingly well
Breakfast was a real highlight: freshly cooked, high-quality ingredients, and plenty of choice. It was clear a lot of care and pride goes into every detail. The 'Healthy Option' must be tasted to be believed . .
The staff- with the skill of Phil, were friendly, attentive, and full of great local recommendations, which made exploring the area special . .
The location is perfect — peaceful and relaxing, yet close to the town and sea walks
We left feeling refreshed and already planning our return. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a cosy, high-quality stay in the New Forest - at incredible value!

Another great stay at this lovely hotel. Lovely clean room with everything you need. Bar area and restaurant tastefully decorated. Staff are all wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. Best of all they love dogs and make them as welcome as the humans.
Location excellent to visit surrounding areas
Nothing
Very nice location, nice atmosphere
Mattresses
Pleasant staff.Everything we needed in the room.
Very clean and comfortable.
Quiet.Cinvenient to the places we were going to visit.
The evening meal was good value. Hi Dr
We were new clients and booked online and therefore paid more than phoning direct and would have had breakfast included. We will.know for the future.
The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and personable and the location was ideal for our needs.
Unfortunately, we were given room no.10, which in itself is a lovely room, but happens to be located directly above the hotel delivery area.
This means we were woken up every morning by either vans or lorries making deliveries to the hotel.
This was usually a delivery of linen, any time from about 06.30 onwards, which meant we could not leave our windows open during the night, as the noise made by the driver during the unloading of boxes full of linen from the lorry woke us up.
This meant that the room was very warm and stuffy and we didn’t sleep too well!!
