Once again, we were looked after so well by Carla and Ben when we visited for dinner. The service and food were excellent.
lovely location and great facilities. Great staff and bar area had a lovely atmosphere. Morning breakfast was delicious with attentive staff.
Rooms were very quiet, hotel had a lift which is very convent as the steps are steep to the 2nd floor. The rooms are a little tired and the bathroom window privacy screening is in desperate need of replacement.
Kettle is completely scaled up and cups were also dirty so this needs to be addressed. Ok Value if the above were dealt with then it would be good value.
I would stay here again even so as the bed was very comfortable and overall had a lovely stay.
AC was most welcome and the room was a generous size. Staff very approachable.

I arrived late and received a very warm welcome from reception. Room was clean and spacious. Very good breakfast the next morning. Large carpark.
The staff were great and the breakfast was very good. Nice building, great garden
The hotel was tired and needs updating. A bottle of water in the room would have been good especially as it was a very warm day. The room could have been great with its large windows, unfortunately the windows were not cleaned. It was not worth the price
Great breakfast, nice, big and comfortable rooms. Friendly and helpfull staff.
It was nice and quiet
Nice to sit in the garden
Stopped here for 2 nights for work. I had a garden room which I found to be spacious and clean. Bed was comfy and the pillows perfect for a good nights sleep.
Evening meals were okay, albeit they were a little limited. The cheese and onion quiche on the light bites menu was delicious.
Breakfast was good and very generous. On my second breakfast I ended up taking half my bacon & sausage sarnie as a doggie bag 😂
Staff were really friendly, I'll be stopping again!
Limited evening meal choices.
Everything we have been 3 years in a row
Entering the front door of this attractive looking hotel one is immediately struck by its tired, unkept and rather dusty inside. The bedroom was functional but impossible to open the windows. The room had drab curtains and not a single picture as decoration. The bathroom was very small with a shower that had no power. We were a group of golfing friends so we had dinner. The grilled sirloin steaks were grey, the hamburger was frozen. We did not have breakfast and left early. Senior nanagement was nowhere to be seen.
Very little.
Price £173 for 1 night
Dated rooms
Poor breakfast
Not enough staff at the bar
Peace and quiet lovely room with breath taking veiw
Location and that it was a traditional hotel
Nothing
We had our wedding here in July, everything was perfect! Food was great, staff were lovely and the room was beautiful! Thank you so much!
The staff were excellent, warm and friendly and very human. The garden is very nice
The building is somewhat less smart than we expected and the food for dinner was disappointing.
Beautiful location
Staff were miserable not once did they crack a smile when being served, Ben the bar staff was the only descent one that was outgoing and smiling and engaging with guest.
Was not informed there would be private functions all weekend even tho we had booked a year in advance, was only informed upon arrival, therefore unable to use all facilities ( garden as we felt like we was gate crashing the weddings ) due the the wedding guests being in the garden and main room, on the Saturday we sat in the back bar away from the weddings and the wedding guests and bride then came through to the back bar taking pictures so again felt like we was crashing it for them.
The 2 more expensive rooms we paid was were suppose to be the same however 1 was just like being in the hotel.
The silicones around the back and shower desperately need re-doing, the paint work in 1 of the rooms could also do with a freshen up and the other room has wood lice.
NO complaints with the rooms inside the hotel itself, only the external rooms which is ironic seeing as we paid more for these rooms.
Overall will not be returning
All staff was rude we had no TV in our room that works. The room is dirty. We was told we could not use facilities because there was a wedding going on even though we’ve booked over a year ago it was a very poor
Nice size room just very dirty breakfast was horrible just a waste of money we stayed in that location loads of times and there is much better places to say don’t waste your money
Stayed two days for my wedding which was amazing the staff are fantastic and nothing was too much trouble.
The food was one of the best we have ever had
