Hotel Gabbia d’Oro is a true gem tucked beside Piazza delle Erbe in Verona. It’s old—very old—and that’s exactly what gives it such charm. The hotel exudes quiet elegance with just the right touch of quirk: a tiny vintage lift, oversized brass keys, and a bar that feels transported from another century.

What truly sets it apart, however, is the exceptional service. Check-in was seamless, transportation and dinner reservations were handled effortlessly, and every staff member I met was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. My room was comfortable and inviting, complete with a separate sitting area that added to its sense of calm and space.

One moment perfectly captured the spirit of the place: I had a very early flight, and as I waited in the lobby for my taxi, the doorman quietly appeared with a steaming cup of coffee and two croissants—completely unprompted. That thoughtful gesture summed up my entire stay: gracious, personal, and infused with old-world care.

A truly beautiful and memorable experience—I’d recommend it without hesitation.

Fabulous, exquisite hotel in a 17th century restored building. The entire staff from reception to the restaurant to housekeeping was the most pleasant and lovely I’ve ever encountered. It’s right in the heart of the main piazza, but it was quiet and secure, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did!

Finally. I have walked past this place for many years, first as a traveler and then as a resident. And always thought - I want to stay there someday!!!!
A crisis sent me looking for a place to stay - and I remembered here and booked. Jr suite with bathtub.

Fabulous five star hotel. My husband and I stayed just one night and regret not staying another!

The location is PERFECT on a quiet street just around the corner from the main town square. Several great restaurants around the corner. Walking distance to all the main sites and attractions (including the arena and Juliet’s balcony).

The service was impeccable. They checked us in early and let us stay late. They even arranged a private driver to take us to Lake Garda (where we were staying next). Five star service through and through.

The photos online don’t do justice to the historic beauty of this hotel. The antiques, frescoes, artwork, and furniture all have classic Italian elegance. The room we booked (a junior suite) was large for European standards and has a separate sitting area and place to keep our luggage.

Romeo and Juliet (the tropical birds) were beautiful and added to the hotel’s quaint charm.

We can’t wait to return to this exceptional hotel during our next stay in Verona.

So Beautiful this Establishment right from the Beginning Camilla greeted us and Emiliano took control of our Vacation. It’s like nothing i have experienced before maybe in Firenze or Venice. Warm environment with unmatched service that was impeccable to say the least.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Gabbia D’Oro. Hotel staffs are super nice and offers great service. Food was good. The hotel has a timeless elegance that brings you back to the 18th century. I will definitely go back and recommend to friends.
