Overall a nice stay… was good value for the area.
Pros:

Feels pretty modern and is generally well presented. Staff are nice and helpful.

Cons:

Had to ask for bedsheets to be changed - sand/grit like feeling to the sheets. Shower gel pump was empty or not working. The sofa in the suite looks amazing but is not that comfy - wouldn’t sit through a movie.

I think that this is the best you can do in Canberra
Pros:

The plush gray carpets in the room are a bit weird, and the plain walls and somehow both garish yet dim lighting can sometimes make this place feel a little like George Clooney’s impersonal serviced apartment in Up in the Air. But I think that this is probably the best that you can do in Canberra.

Actually, I enjoyed staying at this hotel. The suites are really big, unnecessarily big really. The lobby’s beautiful. The bar downstairs is happening and populated by well-dressed civil servants every weeknight. Upstairs, the rooms are spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was spacious.

One of the reasons I booked this place was the pool downstairs, but I don’t use it. In winter it would be great, but in summer it’s in a dark basement and a bit short. So I walked to the outdoor Manuka Pool, 12 minutes away, to get some sunlight and swim laps. Beautiful.

Service was alright, even though I think the staff is probably spread a bit thin. Room service was limited and took ages. But the front desk team was quick and helpful.

The location is good and walkable if you have to do anything in Barton, and particularly at DFAT. But by car everything in Canberra is close, really. I would stay here again.

It would have been perfect if it weren’t for the noise. Had a bad sleep 🙁
Pros:

The style and the restaurant downstairs and across the road were superb. It was a great looking hotel. We didn’t get to see much because we only stayed the night as we were passing though

Cons:

The room we stayed in wasn’t sound proof and we had a terrible sleep due to loud music coming from a wedding down stairs

Cons:

Mainly cosmetic however we were paying 409.00 per night for a Monday

Lighting in kitchen was very dim
Minor issues with cleaning staff not replacing face cloths etc
Trip switch issue when we arrived
We noticed food trays in hallway for several hours during the day
Being charged for two bottles of water was a surprise
Most hotels supply complimentary water and replace each day

These comments are provided so management can improve staff training etc

We had an enjoyable stay despite the noise but would urge anyone planning stay to contact the hotel in advance to ensure
Pros:

Our rooms were very comfortable and clean, as was the hotel in general. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Cons:

The events space was in use, for very large and loud, late night events for both nights of our stay. On night one we were positioned in a room directly above the event. Considering we had booked a family room, with two young children and were not attending the event, it was very odd that we were placed in a room directly above the party. We were disturbed until 11:30pm. We were then moved for the second night to a higher floor on the other side of the hotel - which was where we should’ve been situated for the entire stay. A 5 star hotel has a basic requirement to provide a quiet and comfortable place to sleep. Sadly, this requirement was not met. We were compensated with a bottle of wine from the mini bar. However, I do not feel this was adequate compensation for the inconvenience and disturbance it caused us.

There were also some issues with online check in and also paying for room service using the online system, which was a small inconvenience amplified by a disappointing first night.

Beautiful Hotel.
Pros:

Stayed at Realm for a business trip and it really is a beautiful Hotel. My room was amazing. I loved that it had a balcony so I could sit outside. I loved that they provided a good in-room coffee pod machine. Staff at front desk were extrememly helful. The hotel was in a great location.

Nice, quiet hotel with good facilities
Pros:

Nice hotel close to parliament house and government offices - not much happening in the neighbourhood excepting for the surround Realm precinct restaurants and bars.
Rooms clean but could use a refresh as a bit dark and dated. Staff were all friendly and access and free parking on the weekend was great.

Hotel Realm - fit for royalty
Pros:

Hotel Realm Canberra is a stylish, comfortable hotel with spacious, well-appointed rooms and exceptionally comfortable beds. Service is friendly and professional, and the hotel has a calm, upmarket feel throughout. Its quiet location is still very convenient to Parliament House and the CBD. A great choice for a high-quality stay in Canberra.
