Hotel Costa Australis

Pequeno almoço maravilhoso, muito bom dos melhores que já vi na zona toda. Vista incrível. O staff é maravilhosos, desde a recepção ao restaurante. Tem maquina para se ter água fresca potável junto aos elevadores em cada piso. Fica muito perto de barcos que fazem as tours do Lago Última Esperanza, e muito perto do centro também ainda que a cidade seja pequena.

Location

I was twice in the Hotel Costaustralis, with mixed experiences.
The first night I got a small room for one person under the roof, which was more or less empty except the bed. There was no chair or sofa, no wardrobe, and except a very slim side table or the bed itself nothing, where one could put cloth or similar taken out of the suitcase. Other than that the room was o.k., but this really bothered me.
I complained about the missing depositing possibilities the next morning, and when I returned two days later, I got a fully equipped and nice room. Maybe a bit small if you come with 2 persons, but for me the second room was perfectly fine.

Besides that: the hotel is right at the lake, which is nice, and not too far from the city center. It has a large lobby area, check-in was fast and efficient. The breakfast was a bit limited in selection but with a counter for freshly made omelettes or eggs which were very tasty.

So overall a bit mixed feelings, but with the right room a good choice.

Overall Experience:
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Hotel Costa Australis. Our experience was overwhelmingly positive, characterized by excellent dining, helpful staff, and a great location. While there were a few logistical inconveniences, the hospitality we received was top-tier.

These were the highlights of our stay. We stayed for 5 nights.

Dining: The breakfast service was a significant highlight. The buffet offers an ample variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. We particularly appreciated the made-to-order station, where fresh omelets and fried eggs are prepared on demand.

On-site restaurant is a great especially when enjoying the views from lobby and having coffee/drinks We really enjoyed that part of our stay among others. We ordered dinners several times from the restaurant due to variety of menu options.

Excursion Support: The on-site activity booking service is an incredible asset that deserves more visibility. We were initially unaware that a dedicated salesperson was available to assist with excursions. We would like to specifically thank Yohan, who was able to secure a Grey Glacier tour for us at the last minute when other sources indicated it was fully booked.

Areas for Improvement:

Guest Amenities: Upon arrival, we were disappointed to learn that power adapters were not available for guest use unless purchased for $10 (USD), and it was suggested we use the TV's USB port for charging. This felt inconsistent with the high standards of the hotel. Providing USB A and C charge points in room or international plugs as a standard courtesy would greatly improve the first impression for international travelers.

Communication: Prior to arrival, I attempted to contact the hotel multiple times via the WhatsApp numbers and concierge details listed on the website but received no response. Updating these contact channels is essential to ensure guests can easily resolve questions before they arrive.

Despite these minor setbacks, the quality of the breakfast, the excellent lobby, the views and the exceptional effort shown by the staff made for a memorable stay. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Puerto Natales.

Rooms are clean, comfortable and in good size. Rooms facing the sea have nice view. Breakfast is quite good. Staff and service are OK but nothing exceptional.

The bad things are: rooms facing the sea (and street) are subject to traffic noise (even at night), so light sleepers would have problems. Also, you can hear every moves outside the room, particularly the sound of shutting doors.

There are no parking spaces for guests, despite it says free parking is available. I was told at check in to find on street parking near the hotel. If the hotel cannot provide parking it should say so in the hotel description.

Overall it is a OK hotel if you don't need parking and have a room facing the town (with no pretty view). However it is not at all an outstanding hotel that can charge higher price.

The rooms are in good size, clean and comfortable. Rooms facing the sea have a nice view. Location is central and convenient. Breakfast is quite good.

Superior Seaview Room was large with excellent rain shower and bathroom. Elevator access. Location of hotel in Puerto Natales across from the fjord walkway with a beautiful Patagonian mountain view was perfect for our one night stay before an early morning flight. Excellent early full breakfast buffet with eggs and omelettes. Free Parking. Friendly Staff.

Rooms were next to each other as requested. location was nice as it is just across the street from the fjord.
