Formal Complaint – Half Board Arrangement Not Honored
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to formally complain about my recent stay at your hotel, booked under five-star standards with a half-board arrangement.
At check-in, I was clearly informed that my reservation included half board. In addition, I received a written notice specifying that dinner would be served on the 3rd floor between 17:30 and 21:00.
To my complete surprise, when I arrived at the designated location, the venue was closed.
I returned to reception, where I encountered a staff member who did not speak English, nor Chinese, and was unable to provide any explanation or assistance. Instead, she continued performing unrelated actions, which only added to the confusion and frustration.
When the manager finally arrived, we were escorted to the Executive Lounge, which is clearly not a dinner service, but rather a benefit reserved for guests who book Executive rooms. This was not what was sold to me, nor what I paid for.
After that, we were taken to a restaurant on the 5th floor, where we were offered only two fixed set menus, neither of which matched my dietary preferences. The food was presented in a poor, careless, and unwelcoming manner, conveying a clear sense that our presence was an inconvenience.
It is important to emphasize that:
The restaurant was completely empty
No effort was made to check whether something was wrong
No attempt was made to offer alternatives or solutions
What I experienced was:
Misrepresentation of services
Unacceptable food quality
A complete mismatch between price and product
A level of service far below five-star standards
Frankly, the experience was unpleasant and disappointing. Had I known this would be the reality of the “half-board” offering, I would never have booked this hotel.

Heating system was not working (3°C outside!). Claiming this it was compensated with an auxiliar electric heater.
The hotel was very nice and clean with high good standard. The location is also very central. Staff were friendly and always try to help the best they can.

It was a business trip and the hotel made my stay comfortable.
When I went to the bathroom at 02:00 at night I saw two cockroaches in my room (2210), I caught them and took picture and showed them to reception in the morning during checkout but I was still charged. Very bad administration.

Only issue I had was the room temp was too hot to sleep sitting at 24oC all night when I set the thermostat at 15oC was very hard to sleep comfortably

Front Desk Manager, Miss Qu is very professional. She fixed the argument among Hotel, Booking.com and customers.
The front desk staff were neither friendly nor professional
I booked half board for 3 guests through Booking.com, but the first front desk staff member said my booking only included breakfast, not dinner. After arguing with them, the second front desk staff member said they could provide breakfast and dinner, but only for two guests. I contacted Booking.com and received a reply confirming that the final price we paid was for 3 guests. However, the hotel staff insisted they could only serve 2 guests. The front desk almost ruined my holiday.
