Location is great and have stayed a few times previously.
I had booked and they make you pay up front. Wonder why? Well if there is no snow (the only reason anyone would go to Teton village), they will no refund you. Period. What a scam. Lost $1,200 from these crooks. Never again
The staff were great and the location was great, so that certainly counts for something. You could walk to the lift in 5 mintes. It's just not a 4 star hotel, the rooms were Mariott quality at best and the food at the restaurant was terrible. If I had spent $400 per night I would not complain, but we paid $900 per night which is just WAY over priced.
Sometime around 1:00 a.m., a light dusting of snow (roughly 2 inches) apparently triggered a full-scale emergency response in the parking lot directly outside our room. Enter three heavy construction loaders, because obviously this was far too serious for a simple plow… or a shovel… or literally anything quieter.
For hours, the machines would move a few feet, stop, reverse, and treat us to the soothing sounds of an ear-splitting backup alarm—ten beeps or more each time—before scraping the pavement like they were mining for gold. Add in stadium-level spotlights shining straight into the hotel rooms, and voilà: no one slept.
The best part? It snowed the entire time. By morning, total accumulation was still under three inches, proving the whole operation was both loud and completely useless. Bonus feature: the parking lot was now extra icy thanks to the machines packing everything down into a lovely frozen rink.
By 4:30 a.m., I wandered to the lobby with the thousand-yard stare of someone who hasn’t slept. Turns out the plowing was being done by JHMR—and shockingly, I was not alone. Phones were ringing nonstop with other guests asking why they were paying luxury-hotel prices for a front-row seat to an overnight construction documentary.
The plowing wrapped up sometime after 5:00 a.m., just in time for hotel delivery trucks to arrive and unload loudly for the next two hours. We did not sleep a single minute after 1:00 a.m.
When we asked about any kind of compensation, we were told that plowing and avalanche operations can’t be comped. (Those avalanche blasts shake the windows, but at least they wait until a civilized 5–6 a.m..)
This charming parking lot sits between four hotels: The Hostel, Hotel Terra, Gravity Haus, and Teton Mountain Lodge. Everything was peaceful during our mostly snow-free stay. The moment the first snowflake fell, however, the fun was officially over.
The staff at Hotel Terra are genuinely great—but if you’re booking this hotel expecting rest, you may want to reconsider. We had planned one last ski day, but after an all-night symphony of alarms, engines, and scraping metal, we were too exhausted to ski and instead chose the long drive home.
If you enjoy sleeping, this may not be the experience you’re looking for.
Location was good room was very nice and modern newly renovated. It seemed the only thing I did not love were the amenities the hotel as in it was a little bland, and it was a little annoying that we were in a separate tower from the main lobby, but if that being said we were able to book this hotel the day before we came the week of Christmas and we had a great stay
The rooms were beautiful and clean. I felt unusually inclined to remain in the hotel. Our room was truly impressive and comfortable. It even had a fireplace.
Outside of the room we interacted with a handful of hotel staff and all were polite and displayed passionate hospitality. Front desk was unsurprisingly friendly, but a particularly pleasant interaction I had was with a man, Israel, who seemed to be maintenance. He helped us around with directions to the hot tub when he noticed on his own we were lost. He even came to check that we had made it there about 15 minutes later. Again, he did not seem to be in a role that required guest interaction and likely went out of his way to be conscious of us. We were impressed.
Please consider Terra a prime option for a stay at the village.
I arrived in Jackson on business for a few days and decided to check out Teton Village. Totally worth it. The room seems to be just renovated, staff at the front desk couldn't be more helpful. The gym is solid with great views when using the elliptical machines. It's totally worth the stay.
Stellar personnel, outstanding guest services, beautiful rooms, and top-notch amenities — this was truly a 5-star property and it showed in every detail. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous, the restaurant was fabulous, and the service was beyond reproach. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay. Highly recommend!
Great albeit short trip. Only 2 nights here and didn’t get the opportunity to enjoy all the amenities. The hotel staff team is delightful and incredibly responsive. Enjoyed the restaurant and the quick grab and go breakfast in the morning while headed out to Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Will be back for a longer stay!
Off season is the time to go
Marguerite the hotel manager is very responsive to cutomer needs and made our stay great! She went out of her way to make sure we could enjoy the property and activities.
My first time here. The hotel is in a quad like village of hotels, shops and restaurants. The center is very nice - cute with a terrace with tables and chairs, a little stream and grassy areas. There is also a gondola is there to take people up the mountain. The hotel itself was comfortable. We booked a 1 bedroom king which came with 2 bathrooms (rm450). It was spacious and comfortable for 2 people. The kitchen was adequately stocked with equipment but the cutlery could be replaced and cleaned better. There was a small balcony overlooking the quad with seating and a fireplace which turned on with a timer. I hated the lighting in the room. There were about 10 light switches and the overhead lighting was like a spotlight when you were sitting on the couch. The bathroom lighting was too dark and I think the tub light was out. I booked through AmEx plat and received $100 hotel credit and $60/day for breakfast. I would skip the on-site restaurant unless you have credit. Very slow service, expensive and the food is sub-par. They also kept forgetting items I ordered. Kept giving me sour dough toast even though I asked for wheat. The first day we ordered breakfast take-out with tip was $70 for Osteria breakfast and oatmeal. Checked the receipt and 20% service charge was already added. Second day Osteria breakfast and yogurt came to $47.73 and third Just Osteria breakfast was $29.67 (forgot bacon). The Osteria breakfast is listed as $19 on their menu but they charged differently every day. The check-in was easy and fast and the staff there were very nice. The assigned room was pretty clean. However my hubs complained that there was a lack of hot water in the shower in the morning. I take my showers at night so I did not have a problem. For 3 nights I paid $2430, prices probably higher during ski season.
Spectacular location and excellent hotel! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Beautiful property and rooms, excellent staff, perfect setting. Couldn’t have been more impressed. Will come back!
This hotel is 14 years old and is showing its age. Our bathtub had black mold around its caulking and a non-functioning control panel for the jacuzzi jets. The bathroom also had poor lighting and the makeup mirror’s light did not work. The single elevator from the lobby is slow, and its interior is scuffed up with a dirty mat on the floor. I also thought it was tacky how the room’s dresser had a huge tray of cheap junk food for sale. Our room also was very noisy due to being right above a children’s play structure, so if you book a room here, try to get it on the side that does not overlook the plaza play area. The fitness center was adequate but aging, with low ceilings so my fingers hit the ceiling when I jumped, and it lacks disinfectant wipes to wipe down mats and equipment. I will end on a positive note: all the front desk staff were nice and helpful. And the bed was comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay and have no complaints
This hotel is beautiful but our room was weird. Seems like they tried to make a normal size into a suite. It was very cramped. You could barely walk around the king size bed shoe horned into a small bedroom. Housekeeping was rare and minimal when they did come. Staff was great and Teton Village is beautiful. I would stay here again if there are other, less crowded room options.
The staff is exceptional and helpful, The room is small and expensive for what you get. The dining at Osteria was good not beyond. The room was clean and the bathtub height was really dangerous for myself and my wife. I would recommend you stay here as a secondary choice.
