Beautiful hotel at the lake Maggiore
Pros:

The location! The hotel is beautiful, right on the lake Maggiore with two restaurants, Botanical garden, boat deck and event space

Cons:

It is a beautiful property with long history, but it misses some refined touches. Staff is not always attentive and consistent.
Disadvantage is that there is no restaurant in walking distance. You need to go by car, the road is too dangerous to walk (tunnels on both sides).
During our stay there were two weddings, beautiful spot for parties

5 star stay at the Beautiful Villa Porta

A stunning location where we got married 2 years ago and hope to go each year. The staff are so welcoming and personable. A special mention to Eda, Summit and Lara who made our visit with our family so special. In every corner there is so much attention to detail and beautiful views

Preis Leistungsverhältniss ist total daneben
Pros:

Die Lage des Hotels ist hervorragend und ohne Zweifel einer seiner größten Pluspunkte. Auch das Frühstück ist ausgesprochen gut, und das Personal ist durchweg freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit.

Leider hört das Positive damit auch schon fast auf.

Cons:

Für 450 € pro Nacht erhält man ein völlig veraltetes, in die Jahre gekommenes Zimmer. Zwar wirbt das Hotel mit Seeblick, tatsächlich besteht jedoch etwa die Hälfte der Aussicht aus dem Parkplatz.

Das Zimmer selbst ist winzig, und auch das Badezimmer ist extrem klein. Ich bin 182 cm groß und wiege 88 kg – also absolut durchschnittlich gebaut – und hatte in der Dusche kaum genügend Platz, um mich überhaupt zu drehen. Die Duschtür ließ sich zudem nicht richtig schließen, sodass beim Duschen Wasser auf den Badezimmerboden lief.

Hinzu kommt das katastrophale WLAN. Die Verbindung ist so schlecht, dass man besser seine eigenen mobilen Daten bzw. das Roaming nutzt.

Auch die Parksituation ist enttäuschend. Obwohl Parkplätze im ohnehin sehr hohen Zimmerpreis inbegriffen sind, ist ihre Anzahl extrem begrenzt. Wer am Abend zurückkehrt, muss damit rechnen, keinen Parkplatz mehr zu finden.

Das größte Problem sind jedoch die Zimmer. Sie entsprechen aus meiner Sicht höchstens einem 2-Sterne-Standard, während sich das Hotel als 4-Sterne-Haus vermarktet.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist schlicht inakzeptabel. Für 450 € pro Nacht erwartet man Komfort, moderne Ausstattung und Zimmer, die einem 4-Sterne-Hotel gerecht werden. Stattdessen erhält man ein winziges, völlig veraltetes Zimmer. Niemand erwartet für diesen Preis eine Suite, aber ein Zimmer von geschätzt etwa 3 × 3 Metern ist schlicht unzumutbar. Ohne zu übertreiben: Es gab nicht einmal genügend Platz für einen geöffneten Koffer. Man musste ihn ständig hin- und herräumen, um sich überhaupt im Zimmer bewegen zu können. Zum Auspacken blieb nichts anderes übrig, als den Koffer auf das Bett zu legen.

Ein angemessener Preis für ein Zimmer dieser Qualität läge meiner Meinung nach bei rund 120 € pro Nacht – keinesfalls bei 450 €. Das ist für mich ein eklatantes Missverhältnis zwischen Preis und Leistung.

Wedding stay
Pros:

We stayed at Villa Porta for a week in July with our family to celebrate our daughter’s wedding, and it exceeded every expectation.

Our rooms were beautifully appointed, with stunning views across the lake. The patio rooms were especially lovely, offering comfortable outdoor space where we could relax in the shade and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Breakfast each morning was outstanding, with an abundance of fresh fruit, pastries, a waffle station, and freshly cooked bacon and eggs. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.

We ate several times at the beach restaurant, where the service was exceptional. The food and drinks were consistently excellent, and dining by the lake made every meal feel special. The beach is accessed via metal steps, and we loved swimming and kayaking in the crystal-clear lake.

We also travelled with a 10-month-old baby, and the hotel couldn’t have been more accommodating. The travel cot and high chairs provided were excellent, making our stay so much easier.

The wedding itself was simply incredible. The rooftop ceremony area, together with the reception room offering panoramic lake views, is set apart from the main hotel by beautifully landscaped grounds, creating a wonderfully private and intimate setting.

From the breathtaking scenery to the impeccable service, every member of staff made us feel genuinely welcome. It was a truly unforgettable week, and we cannot recommend Villa Porta highly enough. We left with memories that our family will treasure forever.

Tolles Haus mit viel Potenzial. Leider war der Service nicht so aufmerksam, wie wir es das letzte Mal erlebt hatten.

Tolle Lage direkt am See.
Sehr schönes Restaurant und Sitzmöglichkeiten im Garten.
Gepflegte Liegelandschaft direkt am See.

Sehr störender Verkehrslärm - vor allem nachts- und hellhöriges Zimmer.
