I love it staff very nice and serious the room was beautiful very clean friendly staff
We stayed as a couple one weekend to escape the British weather. We had a Level room on the 18th floor.
The room was comfortable with a big bed and excellent views over the city with the sea in the background
The Level was well appointed with a good selection of snacks and drinks.
We would stay again.
Very good stay at Meliá Barcelona Sky. Great city views, excellent breakfast, and a comfortable room. I had a small electricity issue, but front office and maintenance reacted very fast and offered several solutions, which I really appreciated.
I worked for the Meliá brand many years ago and feel loyal to it, but this review is fully objective—the hotel delivered a very good experience.
Another fabulous stay in this hotel we booked the level experience as always and its luxury at its best from the minute you enter till the minute you leave you are treated like royalty by the lovely Antonio and team nothing is too much trouble and if it’s chill out time you want then you’ve got it .We have stayed lots of times here and would never dream of booking anywhere else in Barcelona as everything first class
Lovely breakfast with views at the 24th floor. Especial shout out to Panchi making our eggs sooooo yummy and accommodating our needs.
We were lucky with sunny warm weather in early October. We chose a sea view room on The Level. Room 2311. Great view and excellent comfy bed. Bathroom was slightly tight, but had twin wash hand basins (bonus), bad shower temperature control (all over the place). Soft drinks in the fridge appeared to be chargeable which is a bit silly. The Level had a breakfast area on floor 24 - a wonderful spot with a view. Breakfast choice was reasonable and there was a nice option of sparklingly wine to make a mimosa. The LEvel on floor 25 had a great selection of tapas, and self pour drinks (including hard stuff). I had a few hours by the pool which is shallow and “refreshing’ but usable. We paid €534 for two night inclusive of breakfast and use of the Level. Good value. Staff all wonderful so generally would recommend it. In addition, the local beach is only a short 10 minute walk.
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights prior to picking up our Cruise in Barcelona, check in was efficient and friendly and room was basic but modern and clean. We took the option of breakfast which was buffet style and ok but with lovely views. On check out and still within the Hotel footprint we were subject to theft which was not the fault of the hotel but when we asked for their assistance the staff were not interested. There were CCTV cameras in the area which they would not check and only called the Police when we persisted. (Did not attend). This is a very busy hotel and we appreciate that the staff are under pressure particularly at peak check out times but the lack of customer care was staggering. Whilst some point we will return to Barcelona it would not be to this hotel.
It was a milestone birthday for me this September and we wanted a special hotel to stay in for our tip to Barcelona that wasn’t going to break the bank. As I had the Melia app, I requested a birthday upgrade when I booked, but unfortunately hadn’t been actioned when we arrived for check in. Luckily, Laressa on the Level Lounge reception came to the rescue, she is an absolute star and the hotel needs to keep hold of her! She noted the request and immediately upgraded us and even arranged for a birthday cake and hand written note to be placed in the room by the time we’d checked in! She has a good sense of humour and a really friendly demeanour (as did all of the staff), which really made us feel welcome during our stay. She was a pleasure to chat too also.
We didn’t get time to use the pool but we did squeeze in a 30 minute spa circuit which was included in the Level booking, which was well worth it. The hotel has good transport links for trams, buses and metro and Poblé Nou nearby has plenty of choice for cafes and restaurants for lunch. It’s a 15 minute walk to the beach and also pretty close to a large shopping centre that includes stores like C&A and Carrefour.
The sky bar is where all of the hotel has access to for breakfast and the views are amazing…as was the breakfast food (although the serving area is perhaps a bit small, which is especially noticeable when it’s busy).
I would recommend the hotel and if you want to make it extra special, the Level Lounge is well worth it.
We stayed at the Melia Sky for a day/night upon disembarking a Cruise. We’ve started in Melia hotels before so we were looking forward to it. The building is huge, although it can be dark in the reception and corridors. We arrived quite early at 9am and as we had Level rooms, were taken to the Level check in on floor 25 so that we could use the lounge. The food and drink in the Level met our expectations of using Melia previously. Although we were disappointed to be charged a ‘small fee’ of 80 euros to check in early, which the amount wasn’t realised until the invoice had been emailed across. The view from the room was fabulous, however the flooring was tired in our room on floor 19 and the layout / accessories were somewhat dysfunctional. There was also no privacy from the bedroom to the bathroom which was a little strange as there was a clear window. The buffet breakfast seemed good although we only had time for continental on the day of our departure. It was okay, but would not return to this particular hotel.
Top notch. Upgrade for the concierge floor highly recommended. Rooftop pool was excellent.
It was very clean and breakfast had great options
I had a discrepancy about my bill. I will NEVER use this property again. After spends 2K there - hope the business folds
Amazing, so gorgeous. Upgraded to a fancy room with a view for our anniversary and couldn’t fault it. The staff were super friendly and helped us without even needing to ask.
Breakfast was so worth it, the chef made us a fresh omelette every morning. The area is perfect, a nice trendy take on Barcelona with more local places.
The location really is in the middle of nowhere, and the experience felt disappointing. Unless you pay extra for a certain “level” of membership, you’re restricted from accessing the rooftop, restaurant, and other areas. Staff seemed uncomfortable pointing this out, which made the whole experience feel awkward. Instead of feeling like a guest, I felt like a second-class citizen at what is, in reality, barely a four-star hotel.
Great location in Poblenou. Room was stunning with large windows and a view. Clean and roomy space , comfortable bed and a chaiselongue to relax on. Large shower and ritual bath products.
The hotel has a pool, rooftop and a spa. I didn’t get to use the spa but the tapas at the rooftop bar were tasty. Very friendly reception staff.
We loved the layout of this hotel and the way the family suite was two separate rooms with one entryway for our young adult children to have their space and for my husband and I to have our privacy.
The upgrade to the Level was $$ well spent the breakfast buffet had an array of offerings and evening Club Level spread was more than enough for a lite dinner.
This property was not in a touristy area which means we used public transportation and Uber and taxis to get around. We visited during the winter and did not use the pool area.
Second visit to Meliá Sky Barcelona & second time we upgraded to the Level which was worth it. I am gluten free & they accommodated (albeit limited as you would expect) Overall I think the upgrade is worth it but does really depend on what you are planning to do because on our second visit we found Les Rambler des Poblenou which is a long street approx a 15mins walk away with an array of restaurants, bars & shops which we made use of.
Prices are reasonable & again there are a number of gluten free options for those who need it.
The location is excellent also for the beach, which is less crowded than the main City & there is excellent public transport - the metro is very easy to use but there are also plenty of taxi’s outside the hotel. We walked most days which was pleasant.
The staff in the hotel are brilliant, very friendly, welcoming & accommodating - a special mention the Anthony in L25 reception who arranged fabulous flamenco on my first visit in July with my daughter & remembered when I returned with my husband the following month. Also thank you to Samual, who worked in both L24 & the Merkado terrace bar who was very helpful, friendly & served us with a smile every evening. They all work so hard to make everyone feel well looked after & Samual & Anthony definitely stood out for going sbove& beyond.
Barcelona isa wonderful city, vibrant & full of culture. There is so much to see & do, we just did not have enough time in both trip so we may very well need to return for a third time to tick everything off the list & Melia Sky will be where we return. Thank you to everyone for making our holidays memorable.
My partner & I stayed at this beautiful hotel this summer, this was our 3rd time back at Meliá. We had a fabulous welcome from Federico at the front desk who was more than helpful & managed to give us a great discount on an upgrade on the Level ( highly recommend booking this ). The breakfast was incredible, being greeted by Viktor and then the most incredible team of staff , Eli making us coffees every morning ( often we didn’t even have to ask, she was already on it!) and Hatchi working in the kitchen making the most incredible omelettes or whatever you fancied.
A great selection of food served daily in the Level, well worth paying extra. Antonio was fabulous in helping us sort our out transfer details, he couldn’t do enough!
Meliá is an incredible hotel because of the staff. They make it! The location is superb, so close to the beach and a short metro ride into the city. Highly recommend Poblenou for food and drinks. Overall, another great stay at Meliá. Will we be back a 4th time? You bet! Thanks everyone at Meliá , David & Linda xx
Best experience ever
Very nice hotel, we were up on The Level, which we didn't realise when booking entitled you to their VIP lounges where they offer complimentary refreshments. Very nice to have such a nice welcome on arrival. Lovely large family room luxury towel's and extra's in the room. Great location opposite tram and taxi rank to get out and about around Barcelona.
