Nice staff but the hotel seriously needs a substantial refurbishment. Not CP standard
Pros:

The staff are incredibly nice. The hotel is centrally located for some of the tourist sites, but you soon realise the centre of Asuncion is on the whole a rat infested dump of abandoned buildings and urban filth. The hotel exists in this environment.

Cons:

The hotel has seen better days and needs a serious refurbishment. The tiny windows that open almost fell off their hinges. There are stains on the ceiling around the aircon. The carpet is so old and dirty you don't want to take your shoes off anywhere. There were stick patches on the carpet in my room. The carpets in the corridors similarly. Breakfast was a trial - a lot of noisy people out of control and the staff did nothing about this. Room service order of empanadas came and they were fried but raw inside - the dough used was too think and although golden on the outside, there was raw dough on the inside. I had to send it back. They were good about it, but when the next lot came, they were not much better.

Very bad experience. PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL.

Room and breakfast was „okay“.

Cons:

We asked the hotel before arriving for a nice room in a higher floor. The hotel confirmed. Then we arrived there in the morning and reception told us we can enter the room earlier and confirmed our wish for the room in a higher floor. We need to wait until point 3 pm to enter the room and then we get a room in the 2nd floor and right beside our room was a construction site. And also we had in our room just very hot water for taking a shower which was not nice when outside is more than 40 degrees. Also pool area and gym is more like 2 stars. At all the service of the people who work their is not made for making customers happy. And also the area where the hotel is located is very bad. We really can’t recommend this hotel and it’s never worth like a 5* hotel.

Pros:

Very helpful staff! We were able to change the room because the first room was too dark. Tasty and varied breakfast. Gym abd pool facilities are quite nice.

Cons:

The hotel is in the process of renovation. I think in 2 years it will be much nicer even

Avoid a mistake! And at all cost :)
Pros:

Breakfast was good, very good in fact. While gym facilities also ok however could not see the spa as was not working due to maintenance or swiming pool not very clean

Cons:

Arrived to hotel and multiple problems to check, the staff more focused on wining a petty discussion with a client than service me
Rude, not helpful and really lack of "hospitality" character
Hotel is noisy, had a motor on top of my bedroom all night

2) Payment was not completed because your link was not working, not at 1pm and not at 10pm
3) What early check in are you talking about? i reached hotel at 12 30pm and i reached my room 3pm
4) alternatives offered is cancel your booking and go away
5) My attitude was not rude and defensive my attitude was shock! - my attitude was desperate of what can i do in a foreign country 7,000 miles away form my home that i need to follow up a working agenda having a late teenager fighting me and rebating me for free (you even refused to speak to me in English!)
6) Maybe this process is exclusive to IHG Crowne Plaza i am worldwide traveler with more than 10 years experience in bookig.com and multiple 10s and 9s in reviews this is my first time giving a 1 (and well deserved)
7) same as my initial complaint you are more focused on wining a petty discussion with a client than provide worldwide class hospitality service
