Important information:

Up to 2 children aged 17 and under can stay for free when sharing a room with up to 2 adults if suitable accommodations is available.

The staff we’re very welcoming and made the stay very enjoyable, we had our dog with us and the room and facilities were

hotel vicino stazione treni ma lontano dal centro. staff reception poco disponibile per qualsiasi richiesta. al ristorante lunga attesa per cenare.

Good hotel, our room let it down a bit, no a/c and squeaky bed.
Pros:

Good bar, good selection of food, breakfast was well worth it. Very clean.

Cons:

Lack of working air conditioning, mentioned and where give a couple of fans, however this did not cool the room, just moved air, but better than nothing. Bed quite squeaky when you rolled over.

Mediocre breakfast on last day, may well try another location on our next visit to Norwich, Sorry!

Having stayed numerous times over several years and having familiarity with the location, initially we knew what to expect but were let down as described below

Cons:

I had to reset the air conditioning several times during tne night, at 05.50 I went to Reception personally to report this, the gentleman on duty kindly gave me a fan from the office which was a kind gesture as when I returned to the room the a/c had tripped out again. I had mentioned this to Reception the previous day, they promised someone would look at the problem whilst we went out for the day, even when the "green light" was on the unit was operating very noisily, I did inform Rception when checking out in case they could reallocate that room to anyone booked in there.

Not up To Holiday Inn Standards
Pros:

Modern hotel, attached to Norwich City Football Club stadium . It's about 13 mins walk from the town centre : station, cathedral, restaurants etc. (Note: most restaurants are closed Mondays).

Good sized rooms

Nice linens.

Excellent buffet breakfast.

Cons:

It was during the heatwave. The main reason. I chose to stay here (and pay more money) was for the advertised aircon.

The aircon in our room didn't work : it would run for ~15 mins (even then not particularly cool air) and then switch itself off completely. You then had to switch it in again (and again and again). The room had sealed windows - so no alternative fresh air)

Complained shortly after checkin (around 4 PM). I was told "system would be reset". That did nothing to improve it. Complained again and was offered a small table fan. That circulated the warm, close air. No change of room was offered.

One of the worst night's (no)sleep ever: constantly having to get up, soaking in sweat , to turn "aircon" on again and again and...

Complained again next morning and got a room change. Aircon still was not up to much but at least bedroom window opened a few inches allowing fresh air and a better sleep.

Housekeeping / cleaning needs improvement. First room had mildew/ mould around bath edge, bathroom counter not wiped down (glass rings visible), and an uncollected used wine glass. Second room : glass tumbler in bathroom had caked on "grodu" on rim.

Complained about Room 1 at the time; I had given up by Room 2.

In site parking is expensive (£7.50 / night).

Management (none in evidence during our stay) needs to get in top of Maintenance and Housekeeping
