A pleasant surprise in a great spot.
Pros:

The position was excellent and within walking distance of everything I needed. The trainee woman who checked me in was very helpful and pleasant. My room was spacious and well appointed. Initially my room safe would not lock, but this was quickly fixed.

Cons:

The floor in my room was just...bumpy. It was like the surface of the moon. I have never seen this in any hotel room. It was very strange indeed.

Both USB charging ports above the desk near the eindow did not work.

If/when the hotel is refurbished, I suggest it's time to remove the baths and install roomy showers.

Overnight stay - Great value
Pros:

Great rooms with two double beds per room as requested. Staff were fantastic and very accomodating. Stored luggage during he day. Helped with multiple check ins and differing times, ensuring correct luggage was allocated to each room.

Beautiful area to go for a walk in the morning nearby around the lock.

Pros:

Our bedroom was clean although in room 501 you can hear a fan on constantly / All Night we thought well we are only hear one night so we endured the noise

We were both hungry in the morning , we love a full English and was so looking forward to enjoying , However !
Following paying for our breakfast up front and after using the the buffet displayed breakfast and returned with our full English the food to our table we discovered the food was Stone Cold !!!
I asked a friendly Holiday Inn Staff person if he can heat the food up ? he said " Yes Ill put it in the microwave !!!
You cannot provide food that is cold at the price you charge , this really put us off the hotel

Quick overnight stay - Pretty location
Pros:

Great rooms. Quiet with two double beds per room. Staff were fantastic. Very accomodating and helpful with luggage storage, sorting out multiple room check ins and luggage for the relevant rooms.
Vey helpful with directions and tips.

Lovely location near the lock to go for a peaceful walk on the morning.
