The hotel has great views and a convenient breakfast bar and the beds were comfortable . We were there June 24-26.However, the Internet was down more often than not and I had to log in and several minutes later lose the connection and have to log in again. When I asked the front desk they seemed unconcerned and said they were working on. It never happened. We had better Internet at a remote hotel outside Denali, and for a tourist town like Seward for a hotel do not have working is hard to accept or understand. We had some takeout from a local restaurant and put it in the refrigerator. When we checked several hours later, the refrigerator was not plugged in and turned on. I had to move the bulky furniture away from the wall to plug it in it then started working. A third problem was the HVAC unit was leaking when he came into the room.
Front desk staff was very helpful. We were able to utilize the free hotel shuttle from the cruise port which was great! Also loved that we were able to leave our bags with the front desk and they took care of transporting them to the train station - very nice touch!
Location, location, location. For what I needed to do in Seward, this location was great
One (slow) elevator and no steps. So the one elevator was the way to enter and exit.
hot tub, proximity to town, comfy pillows
room was on first floor, harbor side with daily tour boats leaving which were loud and we could not keep the windows open at any time because of all the traffic outside
Property is located by small boat harbor. Close to tour boats, shopping and great seafood restaurants.
Serves a very good breakfast also!
Breakfast was busy but wonderful and a nice variety. Service was fast to keep foods filled.
Room was big and very comfortable.
Location was perfect, by the water and very close to the ship we were taking a cruise on the next day.
Luggage was even transported for us!
Price could have been a bit less.
The location and harbour view room was lovely
The reception staff could be a lot more helpful and cheerful when checking in.
Breakfast was very poor we went across to the bakery as it was so disappointing.
The room was comfortable once they moved us from the one where the AC unit was not functioning properly. The marina was surprisingly quiet.
Breakfast was extremely basic for the price. The only cereal were sugary, processed things. No muesli or granola. The weird "cheese" inside the prefab omellettes was gross and I scraped it off. The greenwashing was everywhere. We hung up our towels and they replaced them anyway. The dishes may be compostable but they are going to a landfill. Instead of yogurt and jams in bowls they are in plastic, single serve containers.
The location of this hotel is perfect especially if you booked a tour with Major Marine Tours. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. This is not a luxury hotel, but it's competitively priced for the high season in Seward. It's expensive, but there are no bargains in this location over the summer.
Great location. Easy walk from our cruise and for train station! Plus meeting spot for our whale watching tour.
Property is a little dated. Showers were warm not hot.
view from room, location
unpleasant odor in room
Easy dock access
Room smelled bad. Amenities not as listed. Broken things in room. Seemed to cater to charter guests over hotel guests.
This hotel shares first floor with Major Marine Tours and lobby area is overrun with outsiders not staying at hotel. There is real hotel lobby.
Breakfast area is crowded and lacks seating. Both days I asked to sit with other hotel guests. The WiFi was not strong and had issues with the signal.
Harbor side rooms face a walkway and tours dock there creating additional noise.
We stayed two nights as part of Marine Tours package but our 7.5 hour cruise left from a dock a short walk away from hotel. Which defeated the purpose of being at hotel. At $500 a night, I would look at other options. Parking at hotel was limited as well.
The hotel was perfect for our stay
Room was spacious. Staff were wonderful. Location was great - super close to train station and excellent marine tour left from dock behind the hotel. Breakfast was fine but the same each day.
The free internet was extremely spotty - connection kept dropping and even when connected, it was extremely slow.
Breakfast had great selection and staff was exceptionally helpful.
N/A
The view of the harbor and mountains
The convenience of departing on the boat tour
Very expensive
Very helpful staff, quiet even though our room faced the harbor. Clean, comfortable rooms, breakfast included. The hotel also was the location of meeting point for harbor cruises. So it got crowded in the area hotel people get to eat breakfast... some cruise people took advantage of the situation. There is a nice 24-hour souvenir shop i n the lobby. Location is convenient, but you may have to walk a ways.
