Overall very good.
Pros:

Clean large room. Appreciated they fulfilled our request being on the top floor. Was nice having family next door. Great breakfast options. We all enjoyed a full meal and nice space to eat together. I always enjoy stays at the Holiday Inn Express in different locations across the country. Great brand, comfortable bedding, good room design. Always clean! Good kind and helpful staff.

Cons:

Hot tub jets weren't working. The smoking section right out at the entrance by the semi-circle drive. Horrible location to enter smelling like someone else's smoke. The ashtray stunk as well out in the heat there...Also, the second TV in my nieces room didn't work. So hard for her kids to watch something different than the parents. Oddly, they had assigned that room originally to my brother, he didn't accept it for that reason. Then they put my niece in it without mentioning the TV issue. A mention or small reduction in costs would have been a nice gesture.

Safe layover before the beaches!
Pros:

Perfect location to stop on the way to beaches! Very close to I65 & many restaurants. Easy check in & rooms very nice & clean. Pool & hot tub nice & clean. Excellent breakfast with many choices. Parking lot seemed to be very safe too. Lots of hotels at this exit (Athens) but this hotel will be our go-to!
