A nice selection.
the breakfast was good. the room was clean and comfortable. the hotel pool and hot tub were great. i love the balcony that over looked pool area so i could let my nieces and nephews swin.
Staff was nice
Update anything and or replace broken worn out furniture and appliances.
Both night and day staff were very accommodating we were traveling in a car with two children from Washington State to Brandon South Dakota we drove straight through and the staff was just amazing
Stayed here for 4 nights during the holidays, mainly because of the pool/playground feature.
The Good:
Coffee was really good - freshly ground beans, and strong.
Free breakfast was decent - had a pancake maker, which was cool.
Our suite was spacious.
The playground and pool were helpful in helping the kids run off energy.
The front desk person was pleasant.
Very convenient parking.
The Bad:
Our bathroom was really moldy (see photos).
One of the soap dispensers in our room was empty.
The furniture was scratched up.
Asked for a few extra pillows - only able to provide us with one.
Play structure needs a thorough cleaning.
Parents didn’t supervise their kids in the pool/playground area very well.
The access panel to the jetted tub in the room was falling over.
I think if they closed for a week and did a deep cleaning and renovation, it’d be 100x better. Not sure I would stay again.

Best so far
Good place to stay with family. Staff was helpful and friendly. However , the hot tub was down for routine maintenance which was unfortunate as that was a big reason we chose to stay here. IMO it'd make more sense to do maintenance during a week day rather than on the weekend. Pool area and kids play place area was very dimly lit making it hard for the kids to navigate. Breakfast was good and the room was clean. Overall good experience that could have been better with some minor details.
Right off I90 so heard a lot of freeway traffic, plus the noisy air conditioning didn’t get much sleep during our 1 night stay on way to Badlands. Room was clean. Breakfast adequate….there cinnamon rolls still great! Staff were friendly. Thought it was expensive for what we got, but not sure there was a better choice
We booked through Expedia. We arrived at Holiday Inn Express, Brandon SD at 8pm and looked forward to using the hot tub.
Front desk didn't let us know that was not operable.
We checked into our room went down to the pool and there's a note on the door to pool. Like the front desk couldn't let us know. That is a part of our room rental. We got taken. Why don't the hotels and Expedia communicate that

The breakfast had a good selection. The staff was friendly and helpful.
One of the staff members (sorry I can't recall her name) took some family pictures for us. It was much appreciated.
One of the milk cartons was spoiled and the staff addressed the situation.
We had a handicap room due to my husband's mobility issues. The shower slope did not retain the water very well.
It was hard to get to the parking lot
Great bedding and location and clean.
Located right off I90, perfect for our stay on the road as this was just an overnight stop on a longer trip. HIE always has a great breakfast, plus there was complimentary beer & wine when we arrived which we enjoyed after a long day on the road. Will stay here again if we are traveling thru the area.
