pool area for kids but was way too many people when I went barley any room to swim property should inform us when they are having birthday party or other events in pool area so we as customers know to come a different day when we can actually enjoy the pool & swim not be crowded with others who are having events in pool area

Very nice hotel. Clean and our room was very quiet. Beds were great.

A little tricky to get to. Not a big deal

I scheduled my son’s first birthday party at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Brandon over a week in advance and specifically confirmed their swimming policy before booking.
When I made the reservation through their off-site booking service, I was told they do accept non-guest swimmers. Four days ago, we even stopped in person to check out the pool area and again clarified our date (Saturday, Feb. 7th) and asked about wristbands for guests not staying at the hotel. We were told wristbands were $10 each and that outside swimmers were welcome.
Today, when I called to ask about renting an event room, I was suddenly told they do not allow outside swimmers on Saturdays at all. This directly contradicts what we were told multiple times.
Because of this last-minute policy change, we were forced to relocate our son’s first birthday party on the day of the event. Planning for 30–40 family and friends and then scrambling to move everything last minute is unacceptable and incredibly stressful.
I’ve been a loyal rewards member for years, but this experience — inconsistent information, poor communication, and zero accommodation — has completely changed my view. Corporate has opened a case, but the damage was already done.
Very disappointing experience, especially for what should have been a special milestone day for our family in Brandon.

the breakfast was good. the room was clean and comfortable. the hotel pool and hot tub were great. i love the balcony that over looked pool area so i could let my nieces and nephews swin.

A nice selection.

Both night and day staff were very accommodating we were traveling in a car with two children from Washington State to Brandon South Dakota we drove straight through and the staff was just amazing

Staff was nice

Stayed here for 4 nights during the holidays, mainly because of the pool/playground feature.

The Good:
Coffee was really good - freshly ground beans, and strong.
Free breakfast was decent - had a pancake maker, which was cool.
Our suite was spacious.
The playground and pool were helpful in helping the kids run off energy.
The front desk person was pleasant.
Very convenient parking.

The Bad:
Our bathroom was really moldy (see photos).
One of the soap dispensers in our room was empty.
The furniture was scratched up.
Asked for a few extra pillows - only able to provide us with one.
Play structure needs a thorough cleaning.
Parents didn’t supervise their kids in the pool/playground area very well.
The access panel to the jetted tub in the room was falling over.

I think if they closed for a week and did a deep cleaning and renovation, it’d be 100x better. Not sure I would stay again.

Best so far

Good place to stay with family. Staff was helpful and friendly. However , the hot tub was down for routine maintenance which was unfortunate as that was a big reason we chose to stay here. IMO it'd make more sense to do maintenance during a week day rather than on the weekend. Pool area and kids play place area was very dimly lit making it hard for the kids to navigate. Breakfast was good and the room was clean. Overall good experience that could have been better with some minor details.
