Helpful staff, but room preparation could be better.
Pros:

The breakfast was good, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Whenever we reported a problem, they fixed it quickly. Good location for a short stay.

Cons:

The room was quite small for four people. Even though we booked for a family, it wasn't prepared for four guests when we arrived. We had to call reception to have the second bed made up for the children. Also, the sink was blocked, but the staff unblocked it after we called them. They should pay more attention to prep for families.

I stayed for four nights as planned & overall the experience was good.
Pros:

The top floor room with air conditioning was a good size with tv & free wifi to get work done. Large comfortable bed with extra pillows if needed. Limited menu in a basic restaurant but the food was good although perhaps a little expensive as were the drink prices. Self serve breakfast was excellent.

Cons:

The Holiday Inn was awkward to drive to from any direction. Road works in the town did not help. There are no hotel direction signs in Poole. (just a couple of discrete signs would have helped).

Great for one night stay
Pros:

Location close to Harbour only 10 minute walk. Also, close to train station.

Cons:

View from room could have been better. We look out onto corrugated plastic sheets.

Excellent hotel for the ferry or for a stay on the area
Pros:

Nice and clean, comfortable bed, good sized room with nice shower. Excellent breakfast. Staff were very pleasant and helpful

Pros:

Evening meal was very good although they didn't have what I ordered and had to select something else which was slightly cheaper.
I never received a refund for the difference 😕

Pick your room carefully at this Hotel!
Pros:

Shower was OK!

Cons:

There is a railway about 50 feet from the back of the hotel where we were, nothing in the blurb about that. Old double glazing failed to keep very noisy train noise out at night. TV didnt work, had to request a new aerial cable, bed side light didnt work, broken switch had to request another one. Room looked tired and dated, peeling corners on wallpaper, one wall had been re-emulsioned but the edges not cut in. Room had air con but fan was so rattley we couldnt have it on at night. Faulty Sink plug didnt hold water, had to have tap running to wash. Does no one check that the basic facilities in a room actually work? Scrambled egg at Breakfast was dissapointing, , looked and tasted like reconstituted egg, horrible, I'm vegetrarian so ended up with Beans on Toast for Breakfast! Very Dissapointed given we paid a total of £495 for 3 nights.
