Pros:

The staff was excellent, the beds were very comfortable, and the facility was clean and inviting.

Cons:

The electric outlet between the beds was not working, and there was no available extension cord. It's pretty inconvenient but manageable.

The room was clean.

Cons:

I use a wheelchair. I was in town for cancer surgery. I had requested a handicap accessible room due to bathroom needs. Not given accessible room. Toilet was the old standard height of 14-16". Transfer from chair to seat was beyond difficult. I had requested a shower chair at check in. Clerk acknowledged my request, but no chair ever came. Bed was so high I had to sleep on the couch because I couldn't reach it. Switched to Candlewood Suites, who accommodated me last minute and simply upgraded me to room that suited my needs, at regular price. Holiday Inn, however, offered nothing for my inconvenience. CS definitely has any future business.

Great stay!
Pros:

Recently stayed here while attending an event at Matthew Knight Arena. It offered a better rate than the hotel(s) right across the street from the arena, but it's still only a couple of blocks away and within easy walking distance, so it was totally worth it. The room was clean and comfortable; it had almost a stark, spartan feel to it, but it still had every possible amenity. I was thrilled that the freezer compartment in the mini fridge was actually functional, and another thing I appreciated was an extra little shelf and power outlet near the big mirror outside the bathroom. I've stayed in too many hotels on girls' trips that don't have enough mirror/plug space for everyone to be getting ready with curling irons, etc. plugged in. The beds were comfortable and I slept well; our neighbors across the hall were a little loud coming and going from their room (I think they'd been attending the same event at MKA so everyone was up kind of late), but once they got settled in, everything quieted down. My only minor complaint about the room was that the shower could have used some fresh caulking; the bottom edges were looking a little rough.

The full breakfast had a great variety of offerings too. I didn't make use of the pool or fitness center, though I definitely would have if my stay had been longer. I'm also an IHG rewards member, and I didn't realize that allowed for early check-in, which came as a pleasant surprise; the front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating and was able to answer any questions we had.

I'll definitely keep this hotel in mind whenever I'm headed to Matthew Knight again!
