Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jacksonville by IHG

Needs update. Breakfast was ok. Pancake machine broke two mornings. No plates. Told to use bowls. Other guest questioned the lack of plates & asked about a trip to Walmart, the reply was “ we don’t shop at Walmart! What a way to run a business!

I came to this hotel this weekend for an athletic event. Overall, the hotel was good. Room was clean and the noise level was okay except you could hear loud music coming from above you. The rom had a very strong smoke smebbl to it. The key to our room would not work. When you turn on the shower, It will make a high squeaky sound. The breakfast was great with sty favorte thing on the buffet being the cinnaminn rolls. Overall, great hotel and I would be back.

We will no longer be staying there after years of using this hotel to visit family. The tile and the grout in the bathroom was broken and hazardous. Breakfast was a health hazard as the owner's children coughed on the food. There was never hot water to make oatmeal or hot tea, even after asking. We were there multiple days and it was NEVER hot.
The only improvement since our visit in May was the elevator was working, but everything else is downhill. Very sad.

Didnt make it to breakfast but could still obtain banana and yoghurt. This was super nice of them. Had kecard glutch but Chris the evening desk man literally ran upstairs after rescanning ours to check that it worked. Beds were very comfy. Wood surfaces were a little worn...a minor flaw.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Shout out to Destini. Hot breakfast had many choices although the pancake machine was broken. Room was very comfortable with air conditioner working well. Carpet was dated with a musty smell in the hallways. Was mopping up a carpet spill with a towel and there was a lot of hair on the towel. Quiet with no disturbances. Parking lot lit well. We were able to park close to the door we came out.

Looked great in the pictures, got to our room and it was filthy. Pull out couch had dead spiders and beetles under it, and the room smelled TERRIBLE. We had to leave and stay elsewhere.

Stayed at this hotel for one night. Went to assigned room and attempted entry. Key worked just find but door was bolted from the inside. Went back to front desk and they gave us another room. This one was larger than original room but noticed strong smell of animal urine, one large light in the bathroom didn't work and soap dispenser was empty. The next morning we noticed that there was mold in the shower. Staff was nice but didn't seem too concerned about the poor conditions. As we were checking out overheard another guest with similar complaints.

We arrived late. The desk clerk was very nice. The breakfast offered hot choices. Very good.

We were travelling to Kensas and stopped over. Its right next to exit. Feel very safe. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is delicious. Will recommand and come back.

The staff was friendly, the room was clean and it was the perfect price for one night.

Hotel didn’t have the room I booked available and put us in a smaller room, after we had paid more for the original room. Hotel staff said they had to wait for manager to help make it right. Manager wasn’t available before we had to check out and refused to make it right after we followed up. Horrible customer service.

The breakfast was okay except the scrambled eggs taste like powdered eggs also no one came in to change out towels or make beds in the 3 weeks that I was there would have thought they'd have come in at least once a week

WORST EXPERIENCE IN A HOTEL EVER! Direct TV was down our entire stay and of course no one bothered to mention that at check in and they were aware BEFORE we arrived (should have been my first sign to RUN) We get to our room it had not be cleaned or restocked, only the beds were made. We had no shampoo or conditioner, no toilet paper, no towels. The mirrors were filthy! Went to the pool Saturday and it was also a mess in there and had no towels….went back throughout our stay and the same mess was still there and the towels were never restocked either. They never cleaned our room while we were there and when we brought it to the front desk attendant’s attention she said “yea, sorry our housekeepers are lazy” and still never sent anyone to clean it. The place is gross and the staff is worse. Trust me, do yourself a favor and don’t stay here!

The hotel is obviously recently under new management. The hotel staff are nice and polite and i can tell the new owners are trying but maybe hotel management isn't the right for for them. I will give them the credit of the bed was one of the comfiest I've slept in in a hotel in a long time. The list of things that made me not want to stay there again we're things like overly nice and slightly intruding owners, the pool area that was so humid it was worse than stepping outside of Orlando Airport, mouse traps in more areas than should be, rooms not ready by any means (after talking to others i think ours was the only one that was ready), needing to get new room keys at least 3 times, broken fixtures in bathroom, basic maintenance in the rooms not kept up, sketchy elevator and not to mention a "hold" when i checked in that was the entire amount and when i asked to have the charge moved to another card when i checked out i was charged two more times for the entire stay. Being charged three times, for whatever reason they want to give is unnecessary, thankfully i got that resolved and on the right card. No idea how the breakfast is, we opted to go to McDonald's instead. The bed was VERY comfy, i slept well but id rather pitch a tent in the field behind the hotel next time.

The front desk agent was wonderful. He was helpful and very pleasant whenever we saw him. He even accommodated our early check-in. The room was better than expected. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was nice. We enjoyed the pool and whirlpool. Also, breakfast had a nice selection. We will definitely stay again when in the area.
