Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Victoria by IHG

We chose this hotel for the amenities. No where did it say the property was under construction. The amenities we booked for were not available. The bedding smelt horrible. Over all very unhappy with it.

Building is undergoing renovation. A bit of inconvenience. Staff and breakfast are great.

Room was to small

The walls in the room & bathroom need work. The tub needs to be cleaned or fixed; had “black stuff” in it- yuck! NICE staff & breakfast!!!

Hotel is undergoing renovation which should be finished in the near future, so the hotel itself is OK. The only complaint was the A/C unit which sounded like a plane engine each time it came on which needs to be addressed. However, we will not return due to the unbelievably clueless employee at front desk check-in. She was sitting down on her phone when we arrived & it seemed to be an unpleasant interruption for her to rise to accommodate a guest. Throughout the ENTIRE check-in process the ONLY words she spoke were: "Last name & your ID". She returned a small folder & key card but did NOT speak another single word. Nothing. She also did NOT ask for a credit card which is a first time EVER at any hotel, even when I use points for the stay as I did in this instance. We departed 30 minutes later for dinner & she was again seated & on her phone. I asked: "Do you have water since none was left in the room". She put down her phone & replied: "We usually have water but it is locked in the office & I do not have keys". That was it. Not another word. She was obviously done with any guest communication. The male employee at check out the following morning was the exact opposite & quite pleasant. As a Platinum Elite IHG Member who has visited 100's of IHG properties Worldwide, I have NEVER had a similar experience at any hotel. It was like something from the Twilight Zone.

The property is in a renovation and I hope the pool gets more seating options. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay.

Gym closed, pool area is dangerously in need of care. The hot tub was unusable & the furniture was broken & rusted with sharp metal edges sticking out. Had to go ask for towels.

I did not know the property was under construction when I booked. I booked based on excellent reviews on Expedia. It was disappointing when only 1 chair in the pool area wasn’t broken. The 3rd floor was being worked on but our rooms had not been upgraded. The carpet was dirty. The window curtains did not close accurately. The staff was excellent though.

Wasn't aware there was construction/renovations were going on. There was only one ice machine in building on 3rd floor. We had no shower curtain in bathroom. Did provide one to us immediately when we advised front desk, but we installed it ourselves. Ggtt

Very Quite, Very Clean, Great Parking and Excellent Location. Room very Spacious and the BED was Excellent. Receptionist was very nice but not dressed as A PROFESSIONAL Greeter that I see at other Hotels. The Hotel had only one ice machine working, very inconvenient.

City under water boil. Greeter didn’t alert us.

Last minute booking and quick check in was awesome .
Kudos to friendliness of front desk staff.

We can always count on Holiday Inn Express for a nice and clean room. The breakfast was very good, also.

Tv had no remote and did not work when I arrived to room. Bed sheets had stains on them and furniture was stained as well. Cover to AC unit was broken.

It was under construction

Check in was easy and fast, the home made cookies were delicious and the front desk gentleman was so nice and informative. The room was nice and clean, comfortable bed, bathroom clean and the dove soap is a nice touch. Will definitely stay here again!
