Ive been to many other intercontinental hotels, and this one is quite disappointing. This property needs some upgrade.. i believe 5 star hotels should always keep up with maintenance of their property. Room have a moldy smell and ac dont work well. The water also have a scent when turned on in the shower. The outside of my room have bugs… / lizards.. bed have smekk and very uncomfortable. For a kingsixe room that was bookeed, two twin beds were combined therefore theres a gap in between. Very uncomfortable for my husband and i.
Willl not be returning to this one as much as i would love to .

Payed for on water room with city water view, got view over construction on second floor. Photos not as promised. If it was not for just staying over night I would have asked for a refund/room upgrade

Excellent hotel. Other higher rated hotels in Hanoi manipulate their reviews. Having stayed in the so called top rated in the Old Quarter (Oriental Jade and May de Ville) before this I can assure you they are not a patch on this one.

Lovely hotel with spacious room , balcony and a wonderful view.it was good to escape the crowded old quarter and it is not far away from the hotel.
We booked a stay at the hotel 6 years ago for a honeymoon that we didn’t mange to make it due to a war conflict in our country and it was nice to finally come to the hotel snd vietnam

Pros:

The staff were exceptionally helpful and we loved the sunset bar and restaurant. The room amenities had everything including a sewing kit which came in handy. I would definitely recommend it to friends and stay there again if in Hanoi.

Would recommend - great base for exploring Hanoi
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental West Lake during our time in Hanoi. It was the perfect base for travelling with our toddler - after a busy day exploring the city it was nice to return to the peace and tranquility. The hotel was really accommodating and service was great. They even surprised my husband with a cake as an early birthday present which was a very thoughtful gesture.

An amazing service in an amazing location! We'd managed to accidentally double book, but the staff offered to refund one, even though they didn't have to! Breakfast was exceptional, massive choice and quality. We also dined in their Saigon restaurant, which is well worth a visit. Take mozzy spray, the lake does attract these unfortunately - the hotel does have plug-in repellents and flyscreens on the patio doors, but the odd one will still get in. The views and room are worth the risk, so don't let this put you off!
