My first time staying at this hotel, though not my first time staying at a Hilton in Jacksonville. Staff were wonderful from the moment I checked in to the moment I checked out, and I was incredibly impressed with the size of my room! Probably bigger than my apartment back home, lol. I would stay here again.
ROOM: Most of the room was very clean, though you couldn’t pay me to touch the telephone — it was so filthy! Everything was also a little bit rundown — see attached photos. Super small gap between one of the beds and the door, and I kept banging my shin on it. Be careful!
STAFF: Very grateful to the young woman at the front desk when I arrived, who helped provide some guidance on how to use the guest laundry (it’s a super fancy but easy-to-use system — all you need is your phone and a credit card) and then the super lovely head housekeeper introduced herself when I went down to ask about parking (which is complimentary for all guests on a first come first serve basis).
At one point, I did go down the stairs from the 4th floor and it absolutely reeked of marijuana. I got halfway down the stairwell and discovered there were three young men doing a video shoot on the stairs.
Large, well equipped gym, though I didn’t use it.
Todo excelente!
La bañera el agua no bajaba bien
Shawnta and Kay Kay are an outstanding example of employees who go above and beyond and who are genuinely passionate about their job and company around them. They both helped me out on numerous occasions and had no hesitation whatsoever and made sure the accommodations I needed were met. They are both a great example of how outstanding employees should act and lead by example due to those two I will be back and recommending others to come here and ask for them. If you do come here please ask for shawnta and kay kay for help and guidance at this hotel.
The rooms were great, the lower rating is because the breakfast was really terrible. They were renovating the lobby area so breakfast was served in a small meeting room. Maybe this changed what was typically on offer? There were only paper (super thin and flimsy) plates, plastic silverware. The bagels were like bricks. There were oranges (the only fresh fruit) but no knife to cut them with. The eggs and grits were ok but that's it. The garbage cans were running over with all the paper products. It was just really bad quality and options. The sleeping rooms were good - comfortable beds and plenty of space. We used this fitness room, this was also reasonable for such an hotel.
Constitution noise inside hotel.
Bed was comfy, hot tub worked
Under construction, breakfast was gross, one fire pit was always occupied, loud neighbors played music late at night, front staff very loud talking and laughing with each other which is nice to see them in good mood but was disruptive
Muy bien
El desayuno bueno. Pero con más opciones para los sientes dias. La limpieza de la habitación estaba muy buena. Pero habían parte que deberían cambiar por el desgaste y óxido como es el baño.
It was comfortable
When I arrive the older Asian lady was not the friendliest and I could barely understand or hear her. The housekeeping could be better and I like to close the curtain when in a room not leave them open
clean and great price
first night staff was good but not in the second night
Dont know how old this property is but its beginning to show some wear and tear. Doors stick and had to shove to get in. Toilet stopped up and it did not appear clean or if so the use of the room could be why it appeared that way. Positives enjoyed the breakfast and the wednesday get together. Hard working and pleasant staff.
The layout of the room
Could have an elevator on both ends of hotel on each floor, other than that, awesome
This Homewood Suites has been recently updated, that is great but it’s not the first reason we stay here. We stay because of the warm, kind, gracious and professional staff! At check-in we were warmly greeted by Kimberly at the front desk who the next day quickly and kindly printed out lab orders that I needed for my knee replacement surgery. At that time Sales Manager Cheryl came by and the 3 of us chatted about knee replacements. We also met front desk staff Nicole during our stay who always asked if everything was OK and if we needed anything. Our hotel room included many updated features and the roll in shower was perfect for me! A couple of minutes after we arrived in our room, Gabrielle from housekeeping stopped by with a bin filled with housekeeping items, asked us if we needed anything and provided us with additional bath and kitchen towels and toilet paper (at my request). Breakfast each morning includes both hot and cold options. Everyday there were self-made waffles, scrambled eggs with meat (Canadian bacon, kielbasa, sausage, etc.), little potato pancakes (they are delicious!), tortillas and taco type fillings and grits. Cold items include cereals and overnight oatmeal, breads (with local made apricot and blackberry jelly – yum!), muffins, and pastries. There is also fresh cut up and whole fruit and yogurt flavors. The kitchen staff, K.K. and Gwen wisk around the area continuously ensuring that all of the stations are filled, the food areas and tables are cleaned and do so even during the 6:30 – 7:30 “rush hour” where every seat is filled as people enjoy the delicious breakfast, grab a coffee, and piece of fruit and/or a pastry, and head out to work. Our first morning we came down at 6:45 and even though the breakfast area was packed, we were incredibly pleased to find that all of the stations had food and we were able to find an open table in the back! (The next days we came down after 7:30 and there was much more room.) One of the days I passed Crystal, Housekeeping Manager in the hall who asked if I needed anything and chatted with me about my upcoming knee replacement and her experience with a similar situation. We like to swim and Jeff, pool engineer, ensured that the pool was cleaned both in the morning and afternoon and was kind enough to stop his work and chat with us for a bit in regard to the beauty of the pool, set in a forest.
