Great, well-kept room with friendly and accommodating staff.
Nothing
Clean comfortable room.
Parking, although having a handicap placard was told I couldn't park in handicap space. Sign was visible and staff was informed but they said we could not park there. I would love to stay again without that.
Location was perfect and room and bathroom were very spacious.
Amazing view! Such a comfortable stay!
location was perfect liked the cottage homey feel of property
very quaint and not a hotel feel
was not notified that we had to pay for parking, needed a desk or table in room, no AC or screens on windows and
would of liked continental breakfast
We enjoyed everything about our hotel, the staff we met and the fun spirit of Sausalito!
No complaints!
The Gables was perfectly located with many restaurants and shops in close walking distance. Each room was different … one of our rooms (202) was more of a “standard” hotel size with access to a somewhat public veranda (perfect for coffee and pastries in the morning) and the other (301) was larger with a spectacular view of San Francisco from the large balcony. Their staff members were very helpful, especially with suggestions for dining or activities when asked, but not pushy or obtrusive. The Inn was quiet and comfortable and even had daily housekeeping which seems to be rare these days.
The carpeting in room 202 was a bit tricky … seemed like it had stretched so there was excess and it was a bit loose. Parking was at a premium, which we expected in Sausalito, and the lot was full one night so we had to park on the street … but the desk clerk refunded the fee for that night.
The property has a Victorian funkiness.
Lots of stairs and steep, could be challenging for elders and people with disabilities.
An old very characterful hotel in an excellent location just off the main street in Sausalito. The room and view was better than anticipated. There is no air-con but the breeze off the bay is pretty good at keeping things cool-ish.
Very limited parking
